Palestinian Prisoners' Center for Studies said that elements of the Israeli special units stormed at dawn Monday section 25 in the Negev prison, and took two administrative prisoners by force to the administrative court. Media spokesman for the Center, researcher Riad al-Ashqar, explained that the special units stormed room 10, in which the human rights activist Osama Shaheen and captive Mahmoud Shlatoh, from al-Khalil, are held. The units searched the room, and then forcibly took the two captives to the administrative court.

Wasfi Qubaha, the former minister of the prisoners, strongly condemned the Israeli broad arrest campaign against leaders and members of Hamas movement in the West Bank in an attempt to liquidate the movement activities in support of the Palestinian people and cause. He stressed that Hamas has proved its keenness to protect the Palestinian national unity and constants, and legitimate rights. It has also proved its faithfulness to martyrs' blood and prisoners' sacrifices.
The Israeli recent arrests that targeted Palestinian academics and university students came as part of the Israeli attempts to spread illiteracy among Palestinians and to break their will in serving their cause, he added.
The former minister stressed that these Israeli attempts to break the will of the Palestinian people will not succeed to stop Hamas’s efforts in serving the Palestinian cause and people, calling on all Palestinian forces to achieve national unity.
For his part, political analyst Ahmed Rafiq Awad stated that the Israeli arrest campaign against Hamas members came in light of the resumption of talks and to satisfy the Israeli angry street following the upcoming prisoners' release.
The ongoing Israeli arrests in the West Bank aim at suppressing and subduing the Palestinian people, he pointed.
He confirmed that the Israeli detention campaign came to calm down the Israeli angry street following the occupation government's decision to release a group of veteran prisoners who had been arrested before the Oslo agreement.
For his part, the leader in Hamas movement Hossam Badran stated that the Israeli intensive arrests against Hamas leaders and elements and MPs in the West Bank will not break the Palestinian people's steadfastness and determination.
He pointed out that the Israeli arrests came simultaneously with the PA political arrests as a response to Palestinian youths’ activities and events in support of Palestinian people.

A Palestinian child, identified as Mohammad Mahdi Suleiman, 15 years of age, could face a life-term by an Israeli court for “throwing stones at the soldiers, and endangering their lives”.
The child is from Hares village, near the central West Bank district of Salfit. He will be sent to court in the coming few days.
The Israeli Prosecution said it intends to ask for the highest penalty that could reach up to a life in prison, the Wa’ed Society for Detainees has reported.
Wa’ed said that the child was kidnapped on March 15 this year, after Israeli soldiers violently broke into his home and searched it.
He was then sent to a military court and the Israeli prosecutor’s office demanded that the child be sentenced to a life-term for throwing stones at the soldiers, and engendering their lives.
Wa’ed said that this is an unprecedented violation and abuse targeting the child, one of the youngest prisoners in the world, and called on the UNICEF and international human rights groups to intervene, and perform their moral and legal duty to protect the children.
It added that the child is being held under very tough conditions, facing torture and abuse, and that the Israeli interrogators deprive him from drinking water during long hours of interrogations, and that the interrogators even forced him to drink alcohol during interrogation.
The society said that the Israeli violations against the children, especially child prisoners, are ongoing and escalating, while the International Community continues to shed a blind eye.

Palestinian Minister of Detainees, Issa Qaraqe’, stated that Israel will be releasing the second phase of detainees, 26, held by since before the First Oslo Agreement of 1993, tonight by midnight.
Qaraqe’ said that 21 of the detainees are from the West Bank, and five from Gaza, and added that they will be sent to the Ofer prison, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, before being released.
The Minister added that the detainees would then be sent to the Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah, where President Mahmoud Abbas intends to personally welcome them, along with several political, social and religious figures.
Qaraqe’ called on the families to head to the headquarters in Ramallah, to welcome their released sons, and to refrain from gathering near the Ofer Israeli prison.
He added that none of the detainees would be deported, or sent into exile, adding that all detainees from the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip, will be sent home.
Back in mid-August, Israel released the 26 veteran detainees, held since before Oslo; 14 of them are from Gaza and 12 from the West Bank.
Tel Aviv will be releasing more detainees on December 29, and on March 28 2014.
This was part of an agreement, mediated by the United States, to ensure the resumption of peace talks that were halted for three years due to ongoing Israeli violations, including invasions, arrests, and ongoing settlement activities.
The agreement is meant to ensure the release of all 104 detainees held by Israel since before 1993 on four stages.
The Ahrar Center for Detainees Studies and Human Rights has reported that 25 of the 26 detainees are serving life terms, and one was serving a 28-year term.
The longest serving of the released detainees is Issa Abed-Rabbo, from Bethlehem; he was kidnapped on October 21, 1984. Six of them were taken prisoner in 1985, two in 1986, two in 1990, two in 1991, seven in 1992, three in 1993, and three in 1994.
Fuad Al-Khoffash, a former detainee, researcher, and the head of Ahrar center, said that the worst issue about this deal is that Israel is in full control of naming the released detainees, an issue that left the families facing agony and heartache not knowing whether their sons will be included.
