Four detained for possible involvement in banking hack and plan to pump stock value before selling.
US and Israeli law enforcement agencies have arrested four people in Israel and Florida related to securities fraud tied to computer hacks of JPMorgan Chase & Co and other financial institutions, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.
Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said he did not have details of a scam involving JP Morgan but confirmed three arrests. "Three Israeli citizens were arrested on Thursday and have been remanded in custody, appearing in court in Rishon Lezion, near Tel Aviv," Rosenfeld told Reuters.
A fifth person remains at large, Bloomberg reported, quoting officials.
JPMorgan said last October that names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of about 83 million customers were exposed in a hacking attack, making it one of the biggest data breaches in history.
In the indictment, which was unsealed on Tuesday, two people were charged with securities fraud in a plan to pump up the value of low-volume stocks, At least five stocks were manipulated in 2011 and 2012, according to the grand jury indictment, Bloomberg said.
The Bloomberg report continued to say that, "The US said the defendants used mass e-mail campaigns and pre-arranged trading to artificially drive up the price and volume of targeted stocks, in a classic ‘pump and dump’ scheme. At one point, two of the defendants allegedly met with their New Jersey co-conspirator in Kiev, Ukraine, as part of the scam."
According to a statment released by the national intelligence and investigations branch of Lahav 433,
Israel's cyber crimes unit arrested two suspects on Tuesday, both of whom are residents of Israel. The arrests followed a joint investigation with American law enforcement authorities, with found evidence of securities fraud scheme within the US financial system.
According to Bloomberg, the arrests follow a months-long investigation linking suspects to "one of the largest US bank hacks in history".

Mourners carry the body of Mohammed al-Kasbeh, 17, during his funeral in Qalandiya refugee camp, near the West Bank city of Ramallah on July 3, 2015
The evidence in an Israeli colonel’s fatal shooting of a Palestinian boy on July 3, 2015, indicates that the shooting violated international standards on the use of lethal force in policing, and possibly also Israel’s own open-fire regulations. A recently released video supports witness accounts and forensic evidence that Col. Israel Shomer killed Mohammad al-Kasbeh, 17, while al-Kasbeh was fleeing, apparently contradicting the military’s initial statement exonerating the colonel on the grounds that he faced a “mortal danger.”
Video footage obtained by B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights organization, supports accounts by Palestinian witnesses that Shomer, a brigade commander, shot al-Kasbeh in the back as he and others were fleeing after he threw a rock at close range at the windshield of a vehicle carrying the colonel. While a rock directed at a moving vehicle can pose a mortal danger, the fatal shooting appears to have occurred after the colonel left the vehicle and pursued the fleeing rock-thrower.
“A proper investigation into this killing should examine mounting evidence that Colonel Shomer shot Mohammad al-Kasbeh in the back as he fled, and not because he posed any ongoing mortal threat,” said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East director.
Palestinian witnesses to the confrontation near the Qalandiya checkpoint south of Ramallah told the media and B’Tselem that they saw two or three soldiers get out of a military vehicle and chase stone-throwing youths, pause, and then shoot at their backs. Human Rights Watch obtained photographs of al-Kasbeh’s body from B’Tselem showing what appear to be three bullet entry wounds – in the upper back, side torso, and jaw. Israel has not performed an autopsy, B’Tselem said.
The grainy video from a nearby surveillance camera appears to show a figure approaching the vehicle as it drives by, throwing an object at its windshield, and fleeing on foot. The vehicle stops immediately, two soldiers get out and pursue the figure, while a third waits by the vehicle. The two soldiers return less than 30 seconds later to the vehicle, which then drives away.
Maj. Gen. Roni Numa, who is the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) commander of the area in which the incident occurred, concluded on the day of the shooting that Shomer had acted appropriately, according to a statement published on the IDF website. “I fully back the brigade commander and his handling of the situation,” Numa said. Shomer, according to the website, “felt in imminent mortal danger, left his vehicle, and conducted an arrest of a suspect.”

Colonel Shomer
Echoing this claim, Education Minister Naftali Bennett, Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben Dahan, and the Chairman of the centrist Yesh Atid Party Yair Lapid all publicly came to the support of Shomer, saying he had acted in self-defense.
International standards governing the use of force by security officers during policing provide that the “intentional lethal use of firearms may only be made when strictly unavoidable in order to protect life.” IDF open-fire orders allow soldiers to use lethal force only as a last resort to counter a threat to life or serious injury.
Israeli law also permits soldiers, as a last resort and under specific conditions, to fire at the legs of fleeing suspects who refuse to stop when ordered to do so. However, any attempt to justify the shooting on the basis of the regulations on apprehending a fleeing suspect should explain why the three bullets that struck el-Kasbeh, which were fired from close range, hit him in his upper body rather than his legs.
International standards also require governments and law enforcement agencies to establish an “effective review process” by “independent administrative or prosecutorial authorities” for its officials’ use of force, and to allow victims or their families “access to an independent process, including a judicial process.”
Notwithstanding Numa’s defense of Shomer, the military police announced a criminal investigation into the killing and questioned Shomer following release of the video, the Times of Israel reported.
The Israeli military has a poor record of bringing soldiers to justice for such acts, Human Rights Watch said. In a recent report, B’Tselem identified 304 cases in which soldiers killed Palestinians between 2000 and 2011, yet found the military investigated only 73 of them, with 9 ending in an indictment. In 2011, in response to a lawsuit brought by B’Tselem and the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, the military changed its procedure to automatically investigate all cases in which people not taking part in hostilities were killed.
Mohammed’s mother, Fatema al-Kasbeh, told Human Rights Watch that her son was in love and they were preparing for his engagement. Mohammed is her third son killed by Israeli soldiers. Soldiers fatally shot her son, Yasser, in 2001 after he threw rocks. He was 11 years old at the time. Forty days later soldiers killed another son, Samer, who was then 15, during the siege on Yasser Arafat’s compound. “They kill because they know the justice system covers for them,” she said.
“The military and senior politicians rushed to support Shomer before considering all the evidence,” Whitson said. “Even if the new video pushes the IDF advocate-general to prosecute, it underscores the need, in any credible investigation, to collect and weigh all evidence, including, wherever possible, Palestinian eyewitness accounts.”

Rabbi Scheinberg
Kabbalist Rabbi Ezra Scheinberg, who founded a yeshiva and a devoted community in Safed and became famous across Israel for his alleged supernatural powers, tries to flee the country following suspicions that he raped and molested 10 women who sought his advice.
Kabbalist Rabbi Ezra Scheinberg, head of the Orot HaAri community and yeshiva in the northern city of Safed, is suspected of committing sexual offenses on women who arrived to consult him, the Supreme Court cleared for publication last week.
Ten women have filed complaint against Scheinberg so far. The 47-year-rabbi's remand was extended by eight days last Wednesday.
In addition to his arrest, Rabbi Scheinberg was also suspended from the yeshiva and removed from his city at the decision of several rabbis, led by Safed's Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu. Before he was arrested, the rabbi allegedly tried to escape abroad but was detained at Ben-Gurion Airport.
He was taken in for questioning by the Safed Police, which have already received 10 complaints against him from women who were allegedly raped and molested by him.
The Orot HaAri students are still shocked by the arrest and suspicions against their former yeshiva head and are finding it difficult to accept that the great kabbalist, who many of them had asked for advice and for blessings, is now being portrayed as a sex offender.
A huge trash can has been placed in one of the rooms in the yeshiva, and all of Rabbi Scheinberg's writings and books have been tossed in it. "From here they will be archived and buried. Rabbi Scheinberg has become an abomination in the eyes of the students," said Gad Cohen, a rabbi and teacher at the yeshiva who had worked with Scheinberg for seven years.
Rabbi Scheinberg is married and has eight children and grandchildren. He was considered one of the rising powers in Religious Zionism involved in the Jewish mystical doctrine of Kabbalah and a dominant rabbinical figure in the national-religious public in northern Israel.
Scheinberg grew up in Jerusalem and studied in the prestigious Netiv Meir high school yeshiva and at the Kiryat Shmona Hesder Yeshiva. He also served in the IDF Armored Corps. He continued his rabbinical studies and was affiliated with famous rabbis. In the past 15 years, he became famous as a "scholar" who teaches Torah and as a "righteous man" with spiritual supernatural powers. Despite his young age, he gained the support of community leaders and founded a successful yeshiva with Hasidic elements with their approval and authorization, surrounded by a devoted community.
Scheinberg attracted men and women from across the country, both religious and secular, who sought his blessing or advice about a name for their newborn or shared intimate details with him so that he could help them find a match, conceive or settle a marital dispute. The rabbi had a lot of power over his community members, and his followers accepted his requests and demands.
Scheinberg was considered the protégé of former Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu, who was one of the leaders of Religious Zionism. Scheinberg's power increased after Eliyahu's death in 2010, and many of the late rabbi's followers began following him.
Over the years, a devoted flock developed around him. The yeshiva and the kollel (an advanced Jewish studies program for married men) which he founded in Safed include about 100 students and his community is made up of some 40 families. The wider circles includes many other followers across the country who have heard about his virtues and sought to study with him.
As Scheinberg's activity was based in Safed, he developed close ties with the city's chief rabbi, Shmuel Eliyahu, who is considered the supreme spiritual figure in the yeshiva's community.
Scheinberg was arrested last Wednesday at Ben-Gurion Airport while attempting to leave Israel. It happened after his students accepted – almost indisputably – the ruling delivered by the court established by Rabbi Eliyahu, that Scheinberg had hurt women and must leave the community.
A., one of Scheinberg's students who kept in touch with him even after he graduated from the yeshiva says that "there was an aura around him of a kabbalist rabbi who does wonders. We saw a person arriving at the yeshiva on the dot, studying and giving lessons. He was attentive to hundreds of appeals on a daily basis and was ready to listen to people.
"We mainly saw a rabbi who was valued by the greatest rabbis and appreciated by the public. There is a gap between the person we knew and the suspicions which is hard to comprehend. After we realized what happened, we all renounced this rabbi as one. There is no one who wants to defend him. There is no one who denies it. On the contrary."

'Warn the public against him'

Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu
Judge Uri Shoham decided to clear the rabbi's name for publication in order to "encourage other complainants, who have requested not to expose themselves until now, to testify about what the suspect did to theme. There is also room to warn the public against him."
The judge further wrote, "As for the damage which the suspect may suffer from the publication, including his medical and personal situation, I found that it is not enough to prevent the publication of his name. The damages the suspect points to are no different from the damages of any person subject to a criminal investigation for serious offenses like these, and it makes no difference that the suspect is a famous person whose identity is known by his community members."
Rabbi Eliyahu said after the affair was revealed, "It's a damaging attack. The rabbi is evil. At first we thought that his actions were simply a moral breakdown and had no criminal aspects, and we suggested that he stay away from the public. He accepted all the conditions, but didn't fulfill them. He continued talking to students and justifying his corrupt actions.
"We removed him from the city, and that gave the first woman the courage to complain after keeping the pain in her heart for 13 years. She was then followed by all the others." Rabbi Eliyahu added during a meeting with rabbis and yeshiva students, "We are guilty.
One of the women who complained was hurt 13 years ago, but refused to talk. She didn't think anyone would believe her. Only now, when the matter was raised, she felt she could complain. "It's time to be more sensitive and attentive to the cry of humiliated women. If we improve in this area, we may be able to prevent the next damaging attack."
The rabbi said that when the suspicions against the Scheinberg were exposed, women fainted and yeshiva students tore their clothes. "I have met broken hearts across the country. We are experiencing a difficult crisis," he added. Rabbi Scheinberg's student added, "We are crying. We have not eaten or slept for several days now. It's inconceivable. It's a shock, a horror. It's very difficult for anyone who saw this man as his rabbi, but luckily, our faith in God and in the Torah don't depend on him."

Itmar Zimir
The District Court in Jerusalem postponed the trail of the murderers of Mohammad Abu Khdeir on (15 – 07 – 2015) until 22 – 10 – 2015.
The decision to postpone came to be until the hearing of the psychiatrist in charge of the third suspect named “Itmar Zimir” from “Bet Shemesh” in the case “Kidnapping, Burning and killing Abu Khdeir”, and in the coming session oral summaries from the defense and public prosecution will be presented in regards to the case.
The court attempted to hold a “closed session” for the three settlers accused of murdering Abu Khdeir, under the pretext that the session is specialized to hear the minor suspect “Itmar Zimir” and forced the people present to leave the hall, and when his father and mother arrived at Court they strongly objected to be taken out.
The Martyrs Father … the court is trying to draft an agreement to exonerate the murderers
The martyrs’ father accused the courts committee of trying “to fabricate and draft an agreement behind closed doors to exonerate the murderers the settlers or to mitigate their sentences, denouncing stopping them from attending the session of the murderers of their child Mohammad, and he described it as racism and stressing that he is going to go to the International Criminal Court to prosecute the settlers.
Both (the martyrs father and mother) don’t expect justice from the court, it is postponing and procrastinating condemning the settlers and trialing them even thought one year has passed on the crime the case is at a standstill.
After the martyrs family waited for about half an hour and after the Lawyer Muhannad Jbara -the family’s’ lawyer – intervened the court allowed them entry while stopping the journalists from entering under the pretext that “the suspect is a minor”.
The settler Itmar: I suffer from psychological and family problems!!

The settler Itmar: I suffer from psychological and family problems!!

The settler Itmar was interrogated by his lawyer and the second settler ” Yaer Ben David’s” lawyer, and from the public prosecutor; the suspect denied through the session his initial confessions that he gave to the police and intelligence, he said that they planned to execute a kidnapping operation and beat up an Arab only and he was shocked when the boy was burnt and murdered.
He said: “we planned to kidnap and Arab and beat him and tie him to a tree in the forest, we used a car that belongs to “Yousef Ben David” wife to conduct this, the cars size is big and we removed booster seat in order to be capable of executing the “kidnapping”, the petrol that we bought was set fires in shops or vehicles or Arab houses as a retaliation to the killing of the settlers in Hebron”
During his interrogation he talked about hitting and tying the child Mohammad Abu Khdeir while detained inside the car, but he denied participating in burning him, (contradicting his initial confessions).
During the session the suspect claimed that he suffered from family problems before executing the operation and participating in the kidnapping and murdering of the child Abu Khdeir, he said: due to a problem with my father I went to my uncle “Yousef Ben David”, and I became very close to him; one day he showed me a film for the funeral of the settlers that were killed in Hebron and decided to kidnap and Arab as a retaliation to that”.
And during the session – A teacher of the suspect Itmar – said that Itmar suffers from severe psychological conditions and takes 3 types of medication, he had advised his parents to take him to a Psychiatrist.
The public prosecutor.. “Itmar” confessed to all the charges
The public prosecutor – whom represents the family – showed a recording to the settlers in a medical eyeglasses shop owned by “Yousef Ben David” that showed them training to execute the kidnapping and assault operation.
The public prosecutor stressed that “Itmar” confessed the charges aginst him and confessed to planning to execute an operation that involved “kidnapping and killing an Arab”.
Judges object to questions from the prosecutor to the suspect!!
The judges objected to some questions asked by the public prosecutor and directed to the suspect “Itmar”, the asked him in some cases to withdraw his questions, the Family saw in this “sympathy with one of the murderers and an attempt to reduce his sentence or acquit him of the crime”.
Medical Report: “Yousef Ben David” is Ineligible for trial!!
In early July of this month the suspect “Yousef Ben David” was viewed by foreign psychiatrist and according to the report ” Yousef is ineligible for trial because he suffers from mental problems”, and that comes in contradiction to the claims of the Israeli psychiatrist that examined the suspect and assured that he was mentally sound”.

FBI investigation spanning 20 countries ends in extensive arrests operation of members of malware forum Darkode; one Israeli suspected of aiding terror groups.
Lahav 433's cyber unit arrested on Tuesday three Israelis involved in the world's largest-known English-language malware forum, an online marketplace called Darkode, where cybercriminals bought and sold hacked databases, malicious software and other products that could cripple or steal information from computer systems.
More than 70 cybercriminals in 20 countries are targets of the FBI investigation. Some have been charged, while others were the subject of search warrants because some countries require evidence to be seized before criminal charges can be filed, investigators said. The three Israelis are suspected of launching attacks against websites, taking over webstores, stealing credit card details and other offenses. In return for their criminal services, the suspects were paid with Bitcoin.
Two of the arrested are brothers suspected of selling credit card information. The third is suspected of aiding a terror organization transfer funds, and a gag order has been placed on the details of the case. The Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court extended their remand until Sunday.
On the forum, which started operating at the end of 2007, hackers sold malware or solicited others to install it on unsuspecting victims' computers, investigators said. Marketplace members also bought and sold stolen databases, some containing millions of people's email addresses or personal information, often used in identity-theft and computer fraud schemes. The site, which had roughly 250 to 300 active members, was seized and shut down by American authorities on Tuesday.
Those arrested or searched live in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Latvia, Macedonia, Nigeria, Romania, Serbia and Sweden. There are victims in all of those countries, and others, authorities said.
Hackers couldn't just log onto the site. They had to be vouched for or nominated by at least two current members to be able to buy, sell or solicit illegal wares or services on the site, authorities said. Hackers also had to present an example of their work which includes proof they hacked websites and caused harm, while leaving a personal signature.
Darkode's advertised products included personal information of 39,000 people from a database of Social Security identification numbers and 20 million emails and usernames that could be used to target people for identity theft, phishing emails or other schemes.

The mayor of Or Yehuda, David Yosef, is in hot water over imposing what prosecutors are calling a 'reign of terror' over the city, including alleged sexual misconduct and theft.
The outgoing mayor of Or Yehuda was charged with a number of crimes, which included statutory rape, using a position of power for sexual gain, forced sexual acts, sexual harassment, theft, and fraud.
Police sources said that David Yosef reigned using an 'atmosphere of terror', saying the mayor "was able to instill fear and spread terror in order to silence the people surrounding him."
Anyone who dared argue with him was met with a violent reaction: "He would throw people out like trash, just firing them. That’s how he kicked people out of their positions." Collecting the women's testimonies took an unusually long time, due to their fear of speaking out against the mayor. "I am very disappointed that I was silent, that I froze," one woman told investigators.
The prosecution described an incident in which a young woman who was about to be drafted into the army met Yosef during an event in which the council was meant to accept an education prize. During the event the young woman sat and ate a cob of corn. Yosef purportedly walked up to her, bent over her neck, and began rubbing her shoulders and hair, whispering in her ear: "Can I be a replacement for that corn you're eating?" The alleged victim froze in her place, immediately became pale, and felt great discomfort and embarrassment.
In another instance, the prosecution described a meeting between Yosef and a woman who entered his office. "We are alone, there is no one here to be jealous, let's do it here and now on this table," the mayor allegedly said. The woman refused his advances and said she was not some cheap woman, but the accused proceeded with his advances, she said, pointing to his genitals and saying: "This down here is strong, you want it?"
In another case described in the indictment, Yosef had arrived at the home of a grieving family. During the 'Shiva' the niece of the deceased offered him a cold beverage, and in response Yosef allegedly told her that she was pretty and had a nice smile. The young woman responded that she was married, but he did not take the hint, and allegedly said, "Is everything functioning down there? The stitches? Is it open for business?"
The alleged victim fled to the kitchen upon hearing his comments, and stayed there crying until he left. Many woman feared speaking out and exposing the whole story, and were so scared that they later asked police whether there were enough complaints to be able to withdraw theirs. Other women feared that their families would suffer as a result of their complaints.
The pace of the investigation was intense, and 180 people were questioned within one month. "At first we were sure that this case was all sex crimes," according to police sources. "However, we slowly understood that there were cases of theft as well, conducted to maintain his lifestyle and please women." As of Tuesday morning, the case included 100 witnesses and 15 plaintiffs.
According to the indictment against the mayor, he had assembled the city council in June of 2013, and during the meeting had offered to name one of the city's streets "Bali." It later became evident that Bali was the nickname he had given to one of his lovers. "I will give you my life and name a street after your name," he told the young woman.
The mayor's lawyer, Avi Odiz responded; "This is a weird and preposterous statment, seeing as the police both saw and heard that the mayor has a death announcement hanging in his office of the deceased Nissim Bali, a legendary sports teacher, who served the city of Or Yehuda for 50 years.
A year after his death it was decided to commemorate his memory by naming a street after him. The attempt by this indictment to insinuate that the street was named after some woman is ridiculous, populist and ludicrous statement. "
