Ahrar center for human rights said that an Israeli military court extended the administrative detention of three Palestinian lawmakers and one former minister. According to director of the center Fouad Al-Khafsh, the court renewed the administrative detention of MPs Omar Abdul-Razek, Ibrahim Abu Salem and Basem Zaarir as well as former minister Essa Jabari.
Khafsh strongly denounced Israel's persistence in administratively detaining Palestinian lawmakers and officials with no indictment or trial, accusing it of attempting to undermine the Palestinian legislative process.
He noted that there are 27 Palestinian lawmakers and two former ministers in Israeli jails, affirming that the vast majority of them are administratively detained with no charges leveled against them.
For his part, lawyer Fadi Qawasmi told the family of Omar Abdul-Razek that the Israeli court of Salem extended on Wednesday his administrative detention for another three months.
The family deplored the court extension verdict as arbitrary and accused his jailers of barring it from visiting him since his detention in July 13.

Israeli soldiers kidnapped on Thursday a Palestinian man at a roadblock near the central West Bank city of Ramallah. The army also closed two main roadblocks near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Local sources in Ramallah have reported that the soldiers kidnapped Soheil Mahmoud ‘Ayyash, 33 years of age, after invading his home approximately at nine in the morning.
After violently searching and ransacking the home, the soldiers cuffed and blindfolded ‘Ayyash before moving him to an unknown destination.
In related news, soldiers stationed at the Huwwara roadblock, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, closed the roadblock and prevented the Palestinians from crossing.
The soldiers also installed a number of roadblocks close to the Yitzhar illegal nearby settlement, stopped and searched dozens of Palestinian cars, and inspected the ID cards of the passengers.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said Israel soldiers kidnapped two Palestinians, including a child, in occupied East Jerusalem, and moved them to an interrogation facility in the city.
The PPS said the kidnapped have been identified as Morad al-Ashab, and Abdul-Rahman Khatib, 15, from the Old City of occupied Jerusalem.
The PPS added that the two have been subject to extended interrogation by the police in the occupied city.
The police said that a Jewish teenager was allegedly attacked in the Old City, adding that he was not harmed.
In related news, the army kidnapped two young Palestinian men, north of occupied Jerusalem, allegedly for throwing stones into an area in Pisgat Ze’ev settlement.

Dozens of Muslim worshipers suffered injuries and six others were detained during the events that broke out when Israeli police forces violently raided the Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday morning. Mahmoud Abul-Atta, spokesman for the Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage, said that special police troops stormed the Aqsa Mosque compound at 7:30 in the morning and embarked on attacking all Palestinian worshipers in the courtyards and inside prayer buildings.
Abul-Atta explained that the invading troops fired a hail of flashbang and pepper gas grenades at the worshipers in the courtyards and inside the grey-domed Aqsa Mosque to forcibly evacuate the Islamic holy place.
The spokesman added that the Israeli occupation police prevented paramedics from entering the Aqsa Mosque compound to help the wounded and imposed a tight siege around it.
He appealed to the Islamic and Arab worlds to move to defend the Aqsa Mosque, which, he said, is undergoing a serious stage.
In a related incident, the Israeli police on Wednesday evening arrested two young men in occupied Jerusalem on allegations of throwing stones at Israelis.
The police also claimed that four of its men suffered injuries during the confrontations at the Aqsa Mosque.
The situation has become very tense in the holy city after the Israeli occupation police forced their way into the Mosque compound yesterday and unjustifiably assaulted Muslim worshippers.

The Israeli forces arrested on Wednesday early morning the 17-year old Mohammad Shyoukhi and his twin brother Ali after raiding their home in Silwan.
The boys’ mother told Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the occupation police raided their house after surrounding it. They broke the main door and then broke into the bedroom of Mohammad and Ali and detained them in one of the house’s rooms; they also detained all family members in a different room and prevented them from moving or talking.
Shyoukhi added that the forces assaulted her and hit her on her stomach and hit her son on his shoulder and threatened her daughter Su’ad with an electric gun. The forces meant to scare the residents of the house especially the children; note that her daughter who suffers from a disability suffered a state of fear during the raid.
Shyoukhi continued that she requested the soldiers not to come near her sick daughter but they didn’t care; note that she goes to a boarding school but was home to spend Al-Adha holiday with her family.
She also said that the Magistrate court extended the arrest of her sons to present them to court next Sunday and Monday on charges of throwing stones and Molotov cocktails in Silwan.
Shyoukhi pointed out that Mohammad was arrested three times during the last two months; once on 28/8/2014 while leaving Al-Aqsa and was isolated from Al-Aqsa for 21 days, and the second time was in mid September.
Mohammad was arrested five times while Ali was arrested twice. The first time was when they were 12 years old and they were arrested during the arrest of their sister Su’ad.
She added that her son Firas is detained in Rimon prison and her son Fares is under house arrest until completing the legal procedures against him.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) failed at dawn Wednesday to arrest the Palestinian MP Sheikh Ahmad Haj, 75, for the fifth time in a row in three months. Local sources told a PIC reporter that Israeli forces stormed in large numbers al-Ein refugee camp in Nablus and besieged MP Haj’s two homes; but fortunately he was not in any of them.
It is the fifth time that IOF soldiers stormed Sheikh Haj’s home in three months since the Israeli mass arrest campaign in mid-June was carried out following the kidnapping of three Israeli soldiers in al-Khalil, the sources added.
Meanwhile, violent clashes erupted between the soldiers and local youths in Balata refugee camp in the city. A woman suffered breathing problems during the clashes while two arrests were reported.
On the other hand, Israeli forces broke into Awarta town, southern of Nablus, last night. No arrests were reported.

An Israeli military court extended the arrest of the Palestinian lecturer at al-Najah University Dr. Ghassan Thuqan for three months. Family sources confirmed that Dr. Thuqan, 57, has been deprived from family visits for three months.
The administrative detainee suffers from many health problems including severe back pains and asthma due to the deliberate medical negligence in Israeli jails.
Dr. Thuqan has been arrested more than once where he spent more than seven years in administrative detention without charge or trial.
Ahrar center for prisoner studies condemned, for its part, the extension of Dr. Thuqan’s arrest for the second time in a row.
The center pointed out that the detainee was arrested during the Israeli mass arrest campaign in mid-June following the kidnapping of three Israeli soldiers in al-Khalil.
Head of the center Fuad al-Khuffash stressed the need to activate the detained academics’ issue at international forums, saying that four university lecturers are currently held behind Israeli bars.

The three brothers including a 15-year-old boy were arrested after raiding their home at night in Bethlehem. Two other youths including a university student were detained in Jenin.
On the other hand, Ahrar Center for Prisoners Studies condemned the arrest of Dr. Farouk Ashour, 41, at a military checkpoint while on his way to his home.
The center said that the Israeli authorities intensify the arrest of Palestinian academics and national figures in order to force them to leave their homeland.
Dr. Farooq is an ophthalmologist, an activist in civil society, and a member of al-Khalil municipal council, the center added.
Head of the center Fuad al-Khuffash called on Palestinian Doctors Syndicate to work on his release and to expose the Israeli brutal practices and violations against Palestinian academics and doctors.

While people are enjoying Eid with their families and friends, Nahar Al-Saadi, a prisoner from Jenin, is spending Eid in an Israeli solitary confinement cell suffering loneliness and illness.
The prisoner’s family said that Nahar, who was sentenced to four life imprisonments plus 20 years, has been isolated for more than a year by the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) with absolute disregard to his deteriorating health condition. The IOA has been denying him family visits for more than a year now.
The lawyer of the prisoner's club said that Saadi has experienced solitary cells in Raymond, Shata, Megiddo and Ramla prisons, after interrogating him in al-Jalama in April last year, and his isolation period was being extended each six months.
The prisoner, who was arrested in 2003, has been suffering from a problem in his spine for 10 years which causes him severe and permanent pains, and according to the doctors, he needs an urgent surgery. He also suffers serious stomach problems.
Nahar al-Saadi, in a letter, expressed fears that his solitary confinement period might be extended, while it is supposed to end in December this year.
He also added in the letter that he has been suffering from stomach pains for a long time, and he needs a Gastroscopy in order to diagnose these pains. He also needs glasses as he was told by an optometrist, but he hasn't received any medical care because of the Israeli deliberate medical negligence policy.
The Israeli prison service (IPS) exploited the war on Gaza to impose more restrictions on the prisoners like isolating them, denying them family visits, and storming their cells on daily basis.
Saadi was born on 30\10\1981 and was arrested on 7\9\2003 and accused of belonging to the Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, and of helping Hiba Daraghma in her human-bombing operation on 19\5\2003, which led to the death of 4 Zionists and the injury of 76 others.
He is also accused of planning from inside the prison to capture Israeli soldiers to exchange them with Palestinian prisoners.

The Israeli central court in Beersheba has extended Monday the isolation of Jerusalemite prisoner Murad Nimer, 29, for six months. Head of the Jerusalemite Committee for Families of Prisoners Amjad Abu Assab confirmed that the prisoner Murad Nimer was arrested in 2010 and sentenced for ten years on charges of filming sensitive sites on instructions of Hamas.
Murad was held in solitary conferment last year. His isolation was extended more than once for allegedly conducting contacts with Hamas leaders, Abu Asab said.
A few days ago, the prisoner was transferred from Ashkelon solitary confinement to Raymond isolation.
Murad’s brother is also detained in Israeli jails since February 2011 and sentenced for four years.
The prisoner’s family called on local and international human rights organizations to work on putting an end to his isolation.

Overlooking Bethlehem
Israeli soldiers, on Tuesday, abducted three Palestinian youth, including two brothers, during predawn raids near the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, according to reports by security sources.
An Israeli army unit stormed Hosan, west of Bethlehem, where they took two brothers, ages 18 and 20, following a raid on their family home. The army further stormed the nearby village of Taqu, raided and searched a house, and arrested a youth, age 25, WAFA reports.
Near the village of Taqou, east of Bethlehem, an Israeli settler ran over a Palestinian teenager, on Tuesday.
Seventeen-year-old Moath Gazal reportedly sustained multiple bruises and injuries throughout his body, after an Israeli settler ran him over while driving near Taqou.
The youth was transferred to hospital for medical treatment, where his case was described as moderate.

Dozens of injuries including three by rubber bullets were reported Monday evening during clashes that broke out in Tekoa town, east of Bethlehem, between local youths and Israeli occupation forces (IOF). The clashes erupted at the western entrance to the town when IOF soldiers heavily fired tear gas and sound bombs at Palestinian citizens. Three young men were wounded by rubber bullets while dozens suffered breathing difficulties after inhaling tear gas.
In the same context, three Palestinians children were brutally beaten and attacked by Israeli soldiers after being detained at a military checkpoint at the entrance to Beit Fajjar town to the south of Bethlehem.
The three children were released later while suffering severe bruises.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation authorities declared the arrest of 11 Palestinians overnight throughout occupied West Bank including three from Bethlehem and five others from al-Khalil.
Six of the detainees were detained on suspicion of being involved in clashes with Israeli soldiers and settlers, the sources claimed.

The Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies on Sunday urged the United Nations to immediately step in so as to restore the freedom of 38 elderly Palestinian prisoners on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons observed on October 1st. The Prisoners Center said in a statement on Sunday that the Israeli occupation has been incarcerating at least 38 elderly Palestinians, mostly aged 60 years and over, under dire and excruciating detention circumstances.
The statement raised alarm bells over the harsh Israeli penalties, including life prison-terms, to which scores of Palestinian old detainees have been sentenced.
The oldest of all Palestinian and Arab detainees in Israeli penitentiaries was identified as 59-year-old Kareem Youssef Younis, sentenced to life and held in Israeli jails for more than 31 years.
The Israeli occupation authorities have spared no effort to inflict psycho-physical torment and step up torture tactics against the elderly detainees. Being of a Palestinian origin, only, was enough to keep a tight rein on their freedom.
The report documented several cases of provocative investigations, heavy beatings, home-raids, and abrupt searches both in the pre and post-detention phases.
The Israeli occupation forces recently nabbed 66-year-old Palestinian elderly civilian Ahmad Ibrahim al-Qawasma from al-Khalil, paying no heed to the latter’s diagnosis with diabetes and hypertension. Prisoner al-Qawasma is unable to stand on his own two feet.
The report documented countless cases of arbitrary arrests among the peaceful Muslim congregation from the courtyards of holy al-Aqsa Mosque. Reciting pro-Muslim chants, performing religious prayers at the mosque, and foiling settler vandalism, were for the Israeli occupation enough “sins” to send down dozens of innocent elderly citizens.
Administrative detainee and MP in the Palestinian Legislative Council, Muhammad Mahmoud Abu Teir, 62, has been incarcerated for more than 25 years in Israeli prisons.
MP Ahmad Saadat, 61, was also sentenced to 30 years in jail, the Prisoners’ center further reported.
The center spoke out against the oppressive castigatory measures wrought on the Palestinian elderly detainees, many among whom have been dragged to solitary cells and subjected to visit-bans and systematic medical neglect.
Jerusalemite prisoner Jomaa Ismail Mousa breathed his last in 2008, at age 65, after the IPS kept dragging its feet vis-à-vis the prisoner’s critical health status and denied him the right to undergo urgent medical check-ups.
75-year-old commander Fuad al-Shobaki, sentenced to 20 years in prison, is also at risk of dying due to IPS’ medical negligence.
Palestinian women have also had their fair share of the abusive incarceration polices carried out by the Israeli prison administration. House arrest, psycho-physical torture, and unmeasured violence have been among IPS’ ways to tighten grips on such elderly women as Fadwa Ghanemn, 56, and Haja Rasmiya Muhamad Balawna, 53.
The prisoners’ center has appealed to all international organizations to adopt unbiased positions vis-à-vis the tragedy of Palestinian elderly prisoners and take all necessary steps to prevent further impeachment of international humanitarian laws at the hands of the Israeli wardens.

Farouk Issa Ashour
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday night rounded up member of al-Khalil municipality, Farouk Issa Ashour, and a Palestinian university student at two makeshift roadblocks pitched near the West Bank cities of Jericho and Nablus.
Ashour’s wife and activist in prisoners’ affairs, Dr. Amani Hijazi said her husband was apprehended by the IOF at a flying military checkpoint while he was heading to Jericho to receive his father on his return from a trip to Jordan.
Meanwhile, a PIC news correspondent quoted eye-witnesses in Nablus as reporting that the IOF stopped a civilian vehicle at a hasty checkpoint set up near Beit Dajan, east of Nablus, and forced 29-year-old Palestinian ex-prisoner Souhaib Abu Thabet out of the car.
The IOF troops dragged the captured student to an anonymous destination, by-standers at the scene further reported.

Israeli troops assaulted on Monday afternoon three Palestinian children near the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem.
Local sources said that the three children, from Beit Fajjar village, were crossing a military checkpoint at the entrance of their village.
Troops detained the three boys and assaulted them with rifle buts and batons then released them. The three children sustained cuts and bruises, local sources reported.
Also near Bethlehem on Monday, at least four youth were injured and many others were treated for the effects of tear gas inhalation when troops attack residents at the village of Taqu’a.
Residents said that soldiers stormed the southern entrance of the village and fired tear gas and rubber-coated steel bullets at local youth who responded by hurling stones at invading soldiers.
Medical sources said that all injured youth were treated at the local clinic for minor to moderate injuries.

The Israeli prison service (IPS) prevented thousands of Palestinian prisoners from receiving prison visits during Muslim’s holy days of Eid al-Adha under the security pretext, the Prisoner Society said on Sunday. A statement released by the Prisoner Society documented an unprecedented upsurge in such arbitrary visit bans as part of Israel’s castigatory measures stepped up since June under flimsy pretexts.
IPS penalties culminated in the confiscation of at least 120 visitor permits of the prisoners’ families at Israeli checkpoints.
Scores of Palestinian inmates have systematically been denied the right to receive family visits due to their incarceration in solitary confinement.
Palestinian female prisoner Mouna Qa’adan, held in the Israeli HaSharon jail, has been denied the right to see her family ever since she was arrested in 2012. Mouna, an orphan, is the sister of three brothers and the fiancé of prisoner Ibrahim Ighbariya, who is sentenced to three back-to-back life terms and 10 years in jail.
The statement further raised alarm bells over prisoner Nahar al-Saadi, detained in solitary confinement for more than 12 months and prevented from receiving family visits ever since. Saadi, a Jenin native, is sentenced to four back-to-back life terms and 20 years in prison.

Senior Hamas leader Dr. Salah al-Bardawil said negotiations over prisoner swap deals with the Israeli occupation are not necessarily dependent on the truce accord. Bardawil told Quds Press a new round of indirect talks between Palestinians and the Israeli occupation is expected to be held in Cairo after the end of the Eid to deliberate over the establishment of Gaza’s seaport, airport and the prisoners’ affairs.
“An agenda for the indirect talks with the Israeli occupation has been tabled to negotiate the airport, seaport, and prisoner files,” he stated.
In another context, Bardawil said, “the Fatah-Hamas reconciliation accord has been operating according to what was agreed upon in Cairo.”
“We are expecting a cabinet meeting to be held in Gaza, as PM Hamdallah already promised,” he added.
“Roughly speaking, we, in Hamas Movement, are committed to the implementation of all what has been agreed upon and to healing the rift once and for all,” Bardawil vowed.

A broken handle left over from the night raid
On the 30th of September, six young men from the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, south of Nablus, were arrested by the Israeli military.
At 1am, five jeeps with around 20 solders surrounded the village looking for Jema Kanan (23-years old), Jema Rayan (22-years old), Yousef Rayan (19-years old), Khalil Assan (20-years old), Wahbi Rayan (17-years old), and Hazem Assi (18-years old).
The solders entered several houses looking for the men, breaking doors and terrifying the families.
The solders arrested two brothers from the same family, the older brother has just got married and his wife is four moths pregnant with their first child.
She was alone in their house sleeping when the solders broke up two of their doors. The woman had to go to the hospital due to being afraid of miscarrying their child.
The solders threatened many of the families, including a 16-year-old brother who they threatened to beat if he did not give information about his brother.
Since July, 21 men have been arrested from the village. In July the villagers held a demonstration to protest the massacre in Gaza, and shortly after the arrests began.
Only five of the men have been given a date for their trial, the other 16 are still waiting in prison.
