The Israeli Supreme Court rejected last Friday the appeal submitted regarding the sentences issued by the District Court on four Jerusalemites (three children and one young man) from Silwan.
Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that the Israeli Supreme Court judges rejected the appeal submitted against the District Court’s decisions that were issued last September. Lawyer Mohammad appealed the prison sentences of his clients, they are: 18-year old Mohammad Sameeh Abbasi, Majdi Abbasi, 15-year old Ayman Sameeh Abbasi and 13-year old Mohammad Sultan Abbasi.
The lawyer added that the general prosecution submitted an indictment against his clients that included stabbing an Israeli settler and injuring him in the kidney while he was passing-by in Ras Al-Amoud and making Molotov cocktails and throwing them in addition to throwing fire crackers, stones and paint containers at a settlement outpost and on Israeli forces on several occasions.
The lawyer pointed out that the District Court sentenced 18-year old Mohammad Sameeh Abbasi for 7 years of actual imprisonment, and a suspended probation of 10 months for 3 years in addition to a fine of 30 thousand NIS. The judge also sentenced the child Majdi Abbasi for 5 years of actual imprisonment, and a suspended probation of 8 months for 3 years and a fine of 10 thousand NIS, while 15-year old Ayman Sameeh Abbasi and 13-year old Mohammad Sultan Abbasi were each sentenced for a year and a half of actual imprisonment and 3 thousand NIS fine and a suspended probation of 6 months for 3 years.
The lawyer said that the Supreme Court judges did not make any changes to the District court’s sentences and only reduced the sentence of Mohammad Sultan Abbasi from 18 months to 14 months.
The young man and the children were arrested at the beginning of November 2012, and were exposed to harsh investigation despite their young age. After a few sessions, Mohammad Sameeh Abbasi and Ayman Abbasi were accused of stabbing a settler in Ras Al-Amoud on 02/11/2012, and Mohammad Sultan and Ayman Sameeh Abbasi were accused of monitoring the stabbing and were then released on conditions of house arrest and isolation; note that they turned themselves in on 18/09/2013.

Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, said that the Magistrate judge in Jerusalem sentenced 21-year old Fadel Salah for three months and a day of actual imprisonment and a financial fee of 1500 NIS after convicting him with throwing stone sat the occupation forces in Ras Al-Amoud; note that he was arrested after being assaulted by the Musta’ribeen unit (undercover police).

The District court also sentenced on Sunday 17-year old Mohammad Mahmoud Abdulkader for 9 months of actual imprisonment after convicting him with throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at the occupation forces. Mohammad was arrested on 25/11/2013 and was interrogated in Al-Maskobyeh detention center and is currently in Megiddo prison; note that he is a resident of the village of Esawyeh.

In a related matter, the Magistrate court judge extended on Wednesday the arrest of five Jerusalemites until next Sunday, they are: Mohammad Abu Sbeih, Thaer Raed Zghayyar, Walid Tufaha, Thaer Abu Sbeih and Mufeed Obeid.

Release
The Magistrate court judge released on Wednesday the 15-year old Obada Samir Najib with a bail and on condition of house arrest for five days; note that he was detained for 18 days and his brothers Adli and Mohammad are still detained.
Later on, the court released Mohammad Dirbas from the village if Esawyeh without any condition.
It also released on Tuesday the 23-year old Mansour Shyoukhi after completing his prison sentence; note that he was arrested on 1/7/2012 and has two brothers, Muntaser and Mouath, that are currently in the Israeli prisons

The Israeli forces continued their campaign of arresting young Jerusalemite men and children from the Old City of Jerusalem as they arrested one young man and a child on Tuesday afternoon. The total number of Jerusalemites arrested within last month is now 11 people that are between 16 and 22 years old; note that some of them are being exposed to harsh interrogation in Al-Maskobyeh cells and others are being interrogated in “Rooms number 4”.

Lands razed in Negev and to the west of Hebron.
Israeli forces, stationed on the borders with the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday, opened fire on a residential area adjacent to the borders near Khan Yunes, according to media sources.
A WAFA correspondent said that soldiers opened live fire towards homes in an area to the east of Khan Yunes. No injuries were reported among local residents.
Meanwhile, Israeli army vehicles, tanks and bulldozers continued their daily raids and razing of private-owned agricultural areas near the borders, amid sporadic gunfire and flying reconnaissance aircrafts over the southern parts of the Gaza Strip.
In a related matter, Israeli naval forces in the early morning hours opened a hail of gunfire towards Palestinian fishermen’s boats off Khan Yunes and Rafah, forcing them to head to shore. No injuries were reported.
Also on Wednesday, in the morning, Israeli forces razed Palestinian-owned land in Abu al-Zuluf area to the west of Hebron, according to an activist.
Forces, backed with bulldozers and heavy machinery, razed land belonging to residents of Tarqumiyah, a town located to the northwest of Hebron, said Head of Taffuh Local Council Mahmoud Zreiqat.
The land is located in Abu al-Zuluf area between Adora, an illegal Israeli settlement built on Palestinian-owned land belonging to residents of Tarqumiyah, and ‘Ayn Farʻa, an area that has many springs and belong to residents of Dura, noted Zreiqat.
He said that settlers from Adora and Telem, another illegal Israeli settlement, installed steel poles and wires in the land, in order to seize it as a prelude for expanding the two settlements and connect them together.
Residents were able to remove some of the poles and wires, said Mayor of Tarqumiyah, Sami Fatafta.
Israeli bulldozers, on Wednesday, demolished several Palestinian Bedouin houses in the Negev desert, locals said, according to Ma'an News Agency.
Police vehicles escorted bulldozers across the Negev as they demolished a number of structures in villages not recognized by Israeli authorities.
In the village of al-Zaarura, bulldozers demolished two houses belonging to the Abu Judah family, witnesses said.
Locals in the village of Kseifa said that bulldozers demolished houses and tore down trees.
Demolitions across the Negev are still ongoing, residents told Ma'an Wednesday afternoon.
Yesterday, hundreds of Palestinians and activists planted olive trees in land threatened with seizure by Israel, in the village of Kherbat Samra near Tubas, in the northern Jordan Valley.
The event, which was attended by Tubas governor Rabih al-Khundagji, is part of the popular resistance campaign against the Israeli procedures of confiscating Palestinian private-owned land for the benefit of settlement construction.
Forces attempted to prevent Palestinians from planting the trees but residents refused to leave and proceeded to plant hundreds of dunums of land with olive trees.
Al-Khundagji said that the continued Israeli attempts to seize the Palestinian land and imposition of facts on ground are rejected, stressing in the meantime the Palestinian people’s right to safeguard their land against Israeli takeover by similar means.
In al-Tawani area, to the east of Yatta, in the Hebron district, school children were attacked by Israeli settlers, injuring two, according to a local activist and police sources.
Coordinator of the Anti-wall and Settlement Popular Committee Rateb jabour said that settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, physically attacked students of al-Tawani school and hurled stones at them, causing two female children, aged 13, to sustain bruises and wounds.
A press release issued by the Police Public Relations Department stated that the two children were severely beaten by Israeli settlers while they were outside their house and, as a result, they sustained moderate wounds and were taken to the hospital to receive medical treatment.
Meanwhile, soldiers sealed off the Jerusalem-Hebron road after fires broke out in a military watchtower set up at the entrance of Beit Ummar.
Also in Hebron, on Wednesday, WAFA reports that a Palestinian elderly was severely attacked and injured by both Israeli settlers and soldiers in al-Tawani and Um al-Kahir to the east of Yatta in Hebron district, according to an activist.
Forces severely beat 55-year-old Khadra al-Hathalin, causing her to lose consciousness and sustain bruises. She was transferred to a hospital for treatment, said Coordinator of the Anti-wall and Settlement Popular Committee Rateb Jubur.
In Jerusalem, Israeli settlers entered al-Aqsa Mosque, in a provocative visit, assaulting and harassing outdoor female students under police protection, according to witnesses.
They said that police allowed the entrance of settlers in small groups during the early morning hours, provoking worshipers and students who chanted religious slogans in protest of the entrance of the extremists to the holy site.
Settlers, under police protection, attacked the students and worshipers, spit at them while using foul language against them.
Meanwhile, Israeli police, stationed at the gates leading to the mosque, continued to impose intensive restrictions on Palestinian worshipers’ entry to the mosque, especially on youth who are ordered to hand over their ID cards to soldiers before they are alowed to enter the mosque.
Furthermore, Israeli forces and police abducted seven people in Jerusalem, Hebron and Bethlehem as well as serving notices for the demolition of two Palestinian-owned shops, according to reports by local and security sources.
Israeli police kidnapped four youth, in Jerusalem, after raiding their houses in the Old City, raising the number of overall abductions, in Jerusalem, to 14 in less than a month.

Gaza government has called on the international community to intervene immediately to put an end to Palestinian detainees' plight in Israeli jails. The government expressed in a statement on Tuesday after its weekly meeting its total support for Palestinian detainees' legitimate demands especially ending solitary confinement policy and Israeli inhuman violations against them.
Regarding PA demand to join 15 UN agencies, the government called on PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to join all UN agencies and treaties to accelerate prosecution of the occupation.

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), backed by dozens of military vehicles and equipment, stormed several Palestinian cities and towns in the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem at dawn Wednesday. According to Palestinian local and security sources, four Palestinian youngsters, including a minor below 16, were arrested following the sudden attacks carried out by IOF in Ramallah, al-Khalil and Bethlehem, where several native houses were ransacked.
Imad Nemr Daoud, 28, from al-Khalil, Fathi Shouiki, 20, and Hamed Shouiki 19, were all arrested in the process. The minor Mahmoud Hribat, 16, was arrested after IOF violently broke into his family home and searched it.

The Minister of Prisoner Affairs, Issa Qaraqe, has informed that the health condition of the prisoner Mohammed Qasim Alazraq, 27 years old and Secretary General of Fatah in Aida camp has deteriorated due to the harsh interrogation he has been subjected to.
The Minister told PNN that an investigation would start to find out the circumstances that led to the physical injuries that Mohammed is suffering from. He has shown signs of beating and is also suffering from gastrointestinal problems.

The Israeli prison service decided to keep Palestinian prisoner Ibrahim Hamed in solitary confinement prompting prisoners to declare hunger strike in protest, Fuad Al-Khafsh, the director of Ahrar center for prisoner studies and human rights, said on Tuesday. He said that the prisoners were adamant on releasing Hamed from isolation and returning him to prison wards after his isolation ends on Thursday.
He said that the prisoners threatened that in case the IPS did not release Hamed they would start gradual hunger strike as of Thursday.
Khufash said that dozens of prisoners in the southern prisons would gradually join the strike that would eventually group all prisoners in the event Hamed remained in his isolation where he was sent three months ago.
For his part, minister of prisoners in Gaza Attalla Abul Sabah said that retaining Hamed in Ohla Kedar isolation was not acceptable.
He described the step as a “serious escalation”, adding that the prisoners would not stand idle in face of such a development.

The sources pointed out that Al-Tameezi filed a formal complaint in which he charged Israeli soldiers with stealing a sum of money and checks estimated at 150 thousand shekels (about 43 thousand dollars) and 200 grams of gold jewelry.

Witnesses told Ma'an that Israeli soldiers overnight detained a 16-year-old and five other Palestinian youths in the village of Silwad east of Ramallah.
In addition to the six arrests, Israeli soldiers issued summons for interrogation to several other young men, locals said.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said eight people were arrested in the West Bank overnight -- four southeast of Nablus, one southwest of Nablus, one in Bethlehem, and two in Hebron.
IOF soldiers round up more Palestinian citizens including brothers
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) rounded up a number of Palestinians at dawn Tuesday and overnight Monday including brothers. Local sources in Til village, west of Nablus, told the PIC reporter that IOF soldiers in a number of military jeeps broke into the village at dawn Tuesday.
They said that the soldiers searched a number of homes before taking away Malek Eshtiye.
In a similar raid on Edhna village, west of Al-Khalil, on Monday night the IOF soldiers nabbed two brothers in their thirties.
Safa news agency quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the soldiers arrested Tarek and Ala’a Tamizi after storming an agricultural company in the village.
They said that the soldiers searched houses, commercial businesses and a poultry farm near the village’s main water reservoir.
The sources said that the soldiers searched Yusr company for agricultural marketing and confiscated all the eggs found in its stores.
Meanwhile, IOF units raided the Old City of Jerusalem on Monday and arrested Mohammed Najib, 20, from his home.
Locals pointed out that his two younger brothers Adly, 16, and Obada, 18, were detained in Israeli jails for maintaining vigil inside the Aqsa Mosque and their detention was renewed twice.
They said that Mohammed’s mother was taken to hospital after his arrest for treatment of a nervous breakdown.

The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported that several Israeli military jeeps invaded the town, and kidnapped lawyer Tareq Thieb Tmeizy, 27, who works at the District Court, in the area, and his sister-in-law, Mona Issa Tmeizy, 34.
WAFA said that the soldiers violently broke into the homes of the two kidnapped Palestinians, and searched them, causing excessive damage to the doors, furniture and belongings.
In addition, the soldiers confiscated money, gold and checkbooks, and searched a hothouse belonging one of the brothers of Tareq.
In related news, several Israeli military jeeps invaded Beit Sahour town, near Bethlehem, and handed a resident a military warrant ordering him to head to the Etzion military base, south of Bethlehem, for interrogation.
The soldiers invaded the home of resident Ziad Shueibat, 45 years of age, and threatened to kidnap and imprison him, should he fail to appear for interrogation.
