Israeli settlers Thursday evening attacked Palestinian shepherds rearing their sheep near the town of Aqraba to the south of Nablus, and forced them at gunpoint to go back to their homes.
Member of the Popular Committee against Settlement in southern Nablus, Hamza Deirieh, told the PIC reporter that masked settlers, from Itamar nearby settlement, attacked the shepherds while they were tending to their sheep in the eastern area of the town, triggering clashes.
Deirieh said clashes broke out between the town’s inhabitants and settlers after they had approached the Palestinians’ houses. The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) appeared at the scene during the clashes and arrested two Palestinian shepherds.
The IOF soldiers barred dozens of the inhabitants of the town of Aqraba to access the location to help the people there defend themselves. The soldiers further blocked the town’s northern entrance.
The area in southern Nablus is almost always exposed to settlers’ aggressive practices including throwing stones at passing Palestinian cars.

Israeli policemen rounded up a young man in the Old City of Jerusalem as well as a woman who was praying inside the Aqsa Mosque at dawn Thursday. Settlers as well stormed the Aqsa Mosque in the morning.
The Israeli police arrests of Jerusalemite worshipers are usually followed by the imposition of house arrest and deportation away from the Aqsa Mosque for varying periods, in addition to fines.
In a similar context, Jewish settlers stormed Thursday morning the plazas of the Aqsa Mosque from the Magharibah gate under tight security measures by Israeli Special Forces and policemen.
Media sources said 27 settlers broke into the courtyards of the Mosque, gathered near the Dome of the Rock, and started taking photos provocatively. As a result, tension ran high as Muslim worshipers chanted Allahu Akbar from inside the Mosque.
The sources revealed that a group of Jerusalemite women managed to confront a group of settlers who tried to desecrate the holy site and got them out of it from al-Silsilah gate.
The Israeli policemen on the gates of the Aqsa Mosque continued to confiscate the identity cards of the worshipers especially Jerusalemite women until they came out of the Mosque.
The guards of the Aqsa Mosque foiled last night an attempt by a Jewish settler to sneak inside the holy site.
The settlers’ repeated incursions along with the policemen arrests of Jerusalemites have recently escalated in response to Jewish calls for massive incursions into the Aqsa Mosque to perform Talmudic rituals on the eve of the Jewish Holiday Bash on Saturday.

Deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council Ahmed Bahar strongly denounced the kidnapping of MP Khaleda Jarrar from her home in Ramallah and called for an immediate response by ending the security cooperation with Israel.
In a press release on Thursday, Bahar stated that Israel's detention of Palestinian lawmakers in its jails is aimed at obstructing their parliamentary work and isolating them from their Palestinian society.
He added that the Israeli occupation government does not want the Palestinian democratic experience to succeed because it would help create a new fait accompli and a different equation for the Palestinians, who seek to extract their freedom and independence.
The deputy speaker urged the political factions in the West Bank to swiftly work on pressuring the Palestinian Authority to halt its security collaboration with the Israeli occupation and enforce the resolutions taken by the central council of the Palestine Liberation organization in this regard.
Bahar also called on the Islamic, Arab and foreign parliaments to voice strong positions and take necessary action at all levels to curb Israel's illegal detention of Palestinian lawmakers and force it to respect the international law with regard to their parliamentary immunity and human rights.

The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) afternoon Wednesday renewed the administration detention of the Islamic Jihad leader, Tareq Qa’dan, for the third time in a row, just one day after his sister Mona was sentenced to another term in jail.
Local sources said the Israeli authorities renewed the administrative detention of captive Qa’dan, a couple of weeks before his administrative term was set to end.
The prisoner was arrested in an arbitrary mass-abduction campaign launched in the wake of the death of three Israeli settlers in al-Khalil.
Qa’dan, a native of Jenin’s town of Arraba, had gone on a two-month hunger-strike and spent a total of ten years in the Israeli occupation jails.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation authorities are expected to release the prisoner Mohamed Mouna, a correspondent working for the Quds Press, after he had served a 20-month administrative prison term and had gone on an open-ended hunger strike for over two months.
The journalist’s family told the PIC that their son is expected to be released Thursday at the Dhahriya checkpoint, south of al-Khalil city.
Prisoner Mona, 32, joined a 63-day hunger strike initiated last May and June in protest at Israel’s policy of administrative detention.
Journalist Mona, working for the Quds Press International in Nablus, has served a total of six years and two months, mostly in administrative detention.
At least 22 Palestinian journalists have been locked up at the Israeli occupation jails, most of which have been in administrative detention, with neither charge nor trial.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Thursday kidnapped Palestinian lawmaker Khalida Jarrar, a senior official of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, after a violent raid on her house in Ramallah city.
The information office of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that about 60 Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers broke into the house at an early morning hour in al-Ersal neighborhood and ransacked it for about two hours before taking MP Jarrar to an unknown place.
For his part, head of the Palestinian Prisoner Society Qaddoura Fares condemned the kidnapping of Jarrar as "an act of vengeance" against her refusal to yield to an Israeli military order issued months ago exiling her to Ariha (Jericho).
Fares stated in a press release that the Israeli occupation has no evidence to use it for the indictment of the lawmaker, which reflects its persistence in its war crimes against the Palestinians.
The Israeli occupation army had notified MP Jarrar on August 20, 2014 of its decision to exile her to Ariha city, east of the West Bank, at the pretext she was posing a security threat to the area and threatened to arrest her if she did not comply.
Jarrar, in turn, filed an objection against the exile order with the Israel military court near Beitunia town, west of Ramallah.
She also staged a sit-in at the PLC headquarters in Ramallah in protest at the military order.
Her detention increased the number of Palestinian lawmakers in Israeli jails to 16 prisoners.

Nine Palestinian prisoners who are currently in solitary confinement in the Israeli Megiddo prison recently warned to launch a hunger strike in protest of their situation, said the Palestinian Authority’s Prisoners’ Affairs Committee.
According to WAFA Palestinian News & Info Agency, the committee stated that the prison’s administration forces the prisoners to meet their families and lawyers with their legs chained, in addition to being forced to solitary imprisonment in very narrow cells.
Last December, about 100 Palestinian political prisoners started an open-ended hunger strike against the practice of solitary confinement, as well as in support of sick prisoners who suffer severe medical negligence by the Israeli Prison Service.
Palestinian prisoners in solitary confinement are held in foul-smelling and firmly sealed cells that even lack the basic humanitarian requirements, where prisoners are forced to stay all the time in their cells with no contact with the outside world, with the exception of prison guards.
Solitary confinement in Israeli prisons has been a frequent motive, besides administrative detention and medical negligence, for launching individual or mass hunger strikes.
The number of sick prisoners detained in Israeli jails has reached 1500, 80 prisoners of whom are suffering from serious health complications and do not receive the necessary treatment; they suffer from malignant diseases, paralysis, and disabilities, in addition to cases of mental illness and neurological disorder.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) escorted with police dogs have violently raided homes belonging to the brothers and relatives of Sheikh Bassam Saady who is still hunted for being affiliated with Islamic Jihad Movement, eyewitnesses said.
A number of neighboring buildings were also stormed and violently searched in the camp. The IOF soldiers also filmed the stormed buildings using their mobile phones after conducting field investigation with the homes’ owners.
Shortly after the Israeli raid, violent clashes erupted between Israeli forces and local residents. A 22-year-old young man was shot and injured in his leg with a live bullet during the clashes. He was then transferred to hospital in moderate situation.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Wednesday rounded up 11 Palestinians in an arbitrary mass-abduction campaign launched across Occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank.
According to Ad-Dameer institution, the IOF captured the member of the ambulance crew, Fuad Abeid, from al-Issawiya neighborhood, along with two Palestinians from the Old City of Jerusalem and another from Ras al-Amoud.
Three more Jerusalemite youngsters were abducted by the IOF from Jabal al-Mukabir village. Another, identified as Youssef Abu Shousha, was captured in Wadi al-Jouz neighborhood.
Sources based in al-Khalil, said the IOF troops stormed the city at the crack of dawn and abducted the 22-year-old university student and ex-detainee, Anas Abu Hadid, along with the ex-prisoner Hmidan al-Sharbati, 40, after they scoured their family homes and rummaged through them.
Another Palestinian youth, named Mohamed Jamal Akouba, was arrested by the IOF soldiers in Nablus city.
Locals said a drove of IOF army jeeps stormed Nablus’ neighborhoods of Ras al-Ein and the Southern Mount earlier in the morning and stormed the Akouba family home, moments before they kidnapped their son Jamal.
The Israeli army and police forces stepped mass-apprehension campaign in Occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank with advent of Jewish holidays, locals said.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Amjad Abu Asab, head of the committee of prisoners’ and ex-prisoners’ families in Jerusalem, documented the arrest of 30 Palestinian youngsters in Occupied Jerusalem in less than 30 hours.
He said the abduction campaign comes as part of Israeli intents to wipe out Muslims’ presence at the holy al-Aqsa Mosque particularly on the eve of the Israeli Passover holiday as a means to set the stage for settler desecration break-ins, impose a new fait accompli on the ground, and enforce a spatio-temporal division of the Islamic holy shrine.

A series of bids, promoting the spatio-temporal division of the al-Aqsa Mosque between Muslims and Jew, had been put forth by a consortium of Israeli experts.
The bids were discussed during a seminar titled “The conflict on the Temple Mount” and hosted by the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies, in western occupied Jerusalem. Some 100 Israeli figures joined the conference.
The forum underscored the key role played by the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied territories in disclosing the violations committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian activists, sanctuaries, and peaceful congregations.
Photographer Jalee Tubon presented a video footage of activities and campaigns staged by the Temple Mount organizations over the past decade to instruct the masses on how to offer Passover sacrifices, adding that Israelis have been increasingly aware of the vitality of such practices.
Israeli journalist and researcher Nadav Shragai claimed during a lecture he delivered at the seminar that Jews’ smooth access into the al-Aqsa compound to perform religious rituals has grinned down over the past few years.
He further pointed out the proliferation in the activities of the Islamic Movement, led by Sheikh Raed Salah, at the al-Aqsa Mosque, slamming the Israeli government for failing to step in at the right time and to work out the crisis as decisively as required.
He said the Jewish organizations have to work on enforcing laws and bills, on the one hand, and to step up break-ins into the Mosque, on the other, as the only means to change the de facto situation and impose a new fait accompli on the ground.
Professor Yitzhak Reiter, meanwhile, delivered a presentation offering three detailed bids for a potential division of the Mosque, spatially and temporally, between Jews and Muslims.
In the meantime, four hordes of Israeli extremist settlers, escorted by police squads, stormed on Tuesday the plazas of Muslims’ holy al-Aqsa Mosque via the Maghareba gate.
The Israeli occupation police kidnapped a Palestinian female sit-inner and two other youths from Bab Hitta Gate. Another Palestinian citizen was also apprehended from Jerusalem’s Old city.
The Israeli occupation authorities released the youngster Ahmad al-Sharbati, on condition that he pays a 5,000-shekel-fine and be subjected to house arrest until the end of Jewish holidays. The IOA further ruled for the deportation of the young man from the holy al-Aqsa Mosque for one month.
The IOA further ruled that the Jerusalemite sit-inner Ayda al-Seidawi be deported from the compound for three months and sentenced her to 2,000-shekel-bail and a third party fine, estimated at some 10,000 shekels.
Another youth, identified as Ihab Jalad, was released by the IOA on condition of a one-week house arrest and a 20-day-deportation from the al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) on Tuesday extended the administrative detention of Osama Shahin, head of the Palestine Center for Prisoners’ Studies, for four additional months for the second time running and without any charges.
A PIC correspondent quoted Shahin’s family as saying that they have been updated on the sentence by their son’s lawyer, Ashraf Abu Esneina.
The Israeli occupation forces captured prisoner Shahin at the Container military checkpoint, separating southern and central West Bank, on his way back home from Ramallah to al-Khalil city.
The captive was immediately transferred to the Ofer jail and sentenced to an administrative prison-term just four days later.
Shahin, a native of al-Khalil’s town of Dura, has spent a total of seven years at the Israeli lock-ups, where he has reportedly caught several critical diseases, including asthma and joint pains.
The Palestine Center for Prisoner Studies denounced such an arbitrary sentence issued against Shahin, branding it a retaliatory move acted in response to his anti-Israel activism.
The center called on all human rights institutions and pro-prisoners organizations to work on ceasing the agony endured by the Palestinian administrative detainees, incarcerated in Israeli jails with neither charge nor trial, which stands in sharp contrast to all international laws and treaties.

Salem military court has unexpectedly sentenced on Tuesday the female prisoner Mona Ka’adan, 43, to 70 months in prison and imposed on her a fine of 30,000 shekels.
Ka’adan family told the PIC reporter that the court’s verdict ran contrary to the Israeli Attorney General’s promise that her confinement would not exceed 36 months.
Ka’adan was convicted of affiliation with the Islamic Jihad Movement and leading a women organization affiliated with the movement.
The court’s ruling was extremely unfair and out of expectations, the family said.
Ka’adan was arrested more than once most recently in 2012 from her home in Jenin’s town of Arraba. Both her brother and fiancé are currently held in Israeli jails.
She spent five years as a whole behind Israeli bars.

Israeli soldiers kidnapped, late on Tuesday evening, three young Palestinian men from Jabal al-Mokabber, in occupied East Jerusalem, after stopping and searching their car.
Media sources in Jerusalem said the soldiers stopped a car on the “Tunnel Roadblock,” south of Jerusalem, and searched it; the army alleged the car, transporting the three young Palestinian men, contained three explosive charges.
The sources added that the soldiers closed the roadblock for more than two hours after locating the explosives.
The army said the three Palestinians, identified as ‘Aziz Abu Sarhan, Murad Abu Sarhan and ‘Ali Obeydiyya, have been moved to the al-Maskobiyya interrogation facility, west of Jerusalem.
Also on Tuesday evening, soldiers invaded Husan town, west of Bethlehem, and kidnapped a teenager, identified as Ahmad Sarhan Sabateen, 16 years of age, near the main entrance of the town.
