The Israeli occupation forces on Saturday evening closed off Beit El checkpoint set up at the northern entrance to Ramallah province, in the central occupied West Bank, blocking Palestinians’ access out of and into the area.
According to local sources, the measure has resulted in traffic congestion as dozens of vehicles and civilians lined up in the streets on their way to their workplaces and homes.
The move comes as part of Israeli attempts to dismember Palestinian communities throughout the occupied West Bank.
At the same time, four Palestinians were kidnapped by Israeli soldiers near an illegal settlement built on Palestinian land west of Ramallah.

The Israeli occupation police on Sunday released Palestinian prisoner Mohamed Derbas, from Jerusalem, after he completed his prison term and later issued a summons for interrogation against him.
A local official in Jerusalem said that the administration of Ramon jail released Derbas, a resident of Issawiya district in east Jerusalem, after he served his 16-month prison sentence.
Later, Israeli police and intelligence officers stormed the house of Derbas’ family in Issawiya and prohibited them from holding any festivity or meeting to celebrate the release of their son, according to Saleh Derbas, the prisoner’s brother.
An Israeli officer asked the family to pledge in writing not to receive guests or put up flags or banners to celebrate Derbas’ release, but the family rejected to write or sign anything.
The officer also handed the family a summons ordering Derbas to go to al-Maskubiya police station on Monday in west Jerusalem for an interrogation session.

The Israeli prison service (IPS) transferred Palestinian detainee Abdullah Ramadan, who suffers from a bullet injury, from Shaare Zedek hospital to Ofer prison after he received treatment for about two weeks.
Ramadan was injured when Israeli soldiers ambushed and opened fire at him on March 26 in al-Deheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem and then rounded him up.
According a family source, Ramadan was transferred to Ofer prison as a prelude to holding a court hearing for him soon.
Ramadan, 28, is a prominent activist in the camp and was already jailed for four years. He also suffered from multiple bullet injuries during previous Israeli gunfire attacks.

Israeli soldiers invaded, on Friday at dawn, a home of a former political prisoner in Barta’a town, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, before searching it and confiscating a large sum of cash. The soldiers also detained for several hours two young men and a teenage boy, near Jenin.
The Jenin office of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said the soldiers invaded the home of Mohammad Nasser Alaqma, and interrogated him and his family, before illegally confiscating 10000 Shekels from the property.
It added that the soldiers invaded Kafrit village, southwest of Jenin, detained two young men, identified as Mohammad Salim and Laith Salem Abu Bakr, and released them after interrogating them for several hours.
The soldiers also detained a teenage boy, identified as Yousef Mahmoud ‘Obeid, from Sielet al-Harithiya town, northwest of Jenin, and interrogated him for a few hours for “standing near the Annexation Wall,” on town’s land, but later handed him to the Palestinian District Coordination Office.

The detainee, from Tal town, in the northern West Bank governorate of Nablus, is currently refusing to take any vitamins, rejecting medical checkups, and only drinks water. So far, he lost 12 kilograms (26.5 Pound), and is in a deteriorating condition.
The PPS said that one of its lawyer managed to visit al-Hindi, Thursday, in Ohali Kidar Israeli prison, and added that the Prison Administration has confiscated all his belongings, including clothes, and has been frequently moving him from one prison to another to deny his strike, and cause him further fatigue in an attempt to force him to end his strike.
It is worth mentioning that al-Hindi was abducted on March 15, 2017, and never faced charges, but instead was slapped with three Administrative Detention orders without trial.
He was also frequently abducted and imprisoned by Israel and held two hunger strikes in 2012 and 2014.

The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs said that Israeli soldiers physically and verbally assaulted four Palestinian citizens recently during the process of their detention and interrogation.
In a brief report on Thursday, the commission explained that Israeli soldiers beat 17-year-old Hasan Salah, from al-Khader town in Bethlehem, with their rifle butts and military boots during his detention, and later he was also exposed to physical and verbal abuse by interrogators in Kiryat Arba detention center.
Another 16-year-old teenager identified as Ayham Amarneh, from al-Arroub refugee camp in al-Khalil, was also exposed to physical and verbal assault after he was kidnapped by soldiers from his home.
As the soldiers were taking Amarneh to Etzion detention center, they embarked on severely beating and kicking him while he was handcuffed and blindfolded, according to the commission.
17-year-old Mohamed al-Qiq, from the same refugee camp, was also kidnapped from his home and physically and verbally assaulted during his detention and interrogation.

Detainee Sami Mohammed Janazra, 45, from Al Fawar refugee camp in Hebron, continues his open hunger strike for the 18th day, in a protest against the renewal of his administrative detention, according to a report released on Thursday, by the detainees and ex-detainees’ commission.
After his visit to the Ofer detention center, the commission’s lawyer explained that Janazra is suffering from a deterioration in his health condition, indicating that he lost much weight. He added, according to Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency, that Janazra is suffering from a severe pain in the head and kidneys.
It is noteworthy that Janazra is an ex-detainee who was released after one and a half years of administrative detention, during which he held an open hunger strike for 70 days. He was seized again on 12 December 2017, and held in administrative detention for four months. A few days before his detention ends, they renewed it for another time.
Administrative detention in an archaic policy, dating back to the days of British Mandate, in which a detainee is held without charge or trial, for periods of up to six months which can be renewed indefinitely.

Jamal Qunbu, Ahmad’s father, affirmed that Israeli forces handed him a notification informing him that they will demolish his home on April 17 in retaliation for Ahmad’s alleged partaking in the fatal shooting of an Israeli settler near Nablus in early January.
The father said he had appealed to the Supreme Israeli Court through his son’s attorney to annul the decision but all in vain.

Israeli prison soldiers stormed on Wednesday evening several cells in Gilboa jail and assaulted Palestinian prisoners.

Israeli soldiers abducted, on Wednesday at dawn, a Palestinian man and his wife, in addition to a young man, in the southern West Bank governorate of Hebron.
Media sources in Hebron said the soldiers invaded Bani Neim town, east of the city, searched homes and abducted an elderly man, identified as Oleyyan Mohammad Khalil, and his wife.
They added that the soldiers also invaded and searched homes in Doura town, southwest of Hebron, and abducted a former political prisoner, identified as Ahmad Abdul-Majid Ibreiwish.
In related news, the soldiers invaded several alleys in the al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron.
In Bethlehem, the soldiers searched several homes, and summoned Hadi al-Wahsh, for interrogation in Etzion military base and security center, south of the city.
Several army jeeps also invaded Beit Rima town, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, before local youngsters hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at them, while the soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs.

The IOF stormed Tel town, in the northern West Bank province of Nablus, at dawn and wreaked havoc on civilian homes, before they kidnapped two young men aged 23-years-old.
At the same time, dozens of Israeli soldiers raked through Qalqilya’s eastern town of Azzoun, in the northern occupied West Bank, and kidnapped two Palestinian youths.
The IOF reportedly ransacked civilian homes and sealed off the main entrance to Azzoun town.
Overnight, heavily-armed Israeli patrols cordoned off the vicinities of Azzoun Atama and Beit Ameen towns allegedly after gunmen opened fire toward the main entrance to an Israeli settlement illegally built on Palestinian lands in the area.
Meanwhile, occupation patrols rolled into Bani Na’im town, east of al-Khalil, and kidnapped the Palestinian citizen Alyan Khalil and his wife, Umm Muhammad.
Palestinian ex-prisoner Ahmed Ibryoush was kidnapped by the IOF from Dura town, to the south of al-Khalil.
Israeli soldiers also rummaged into civilian homes in Bethlehem before they summoned the young man Hadi al-Wahsh to questioning.
In the meantime, clashes flared up in Beit Rima, west of Ramallah province, after heavily-armed occupation patrols stormed the area and cracked down on Palestinian anti-occupation youth.
The sweep culminated in the abduction of youngster Shadi Muheissen from Jerusalem’s eastern town of al-Issawiya.
Media sources in Hebron said the soldiers invaded Bani Neim town, east of the city, searched homes and abducted an elderly man, identified as Oleyyan Mohammad Khalil, and his wife.
They added that the soldiers also invaded and searched homes in Doura town, southwest of Hebron, and abducted a former political prisoner, identified as Ahmad Abdul-Majid Ibreiwish.
In related news, the soldiers invaded several alleys in the al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron.
In Bethlehem, the soldiers searched several homes, and summoned Hadi al-Wahsh, for interrogation in Etzion military base and security center, south of the city.
Several army jeeps also invaded Beit Rima town, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, before local youngsters hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at them, while the soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs.
Palestinians arrested, homes ravaged in predawn sweep by Israeli army
A number of Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at predawn time Wednesday in abduction sweeps rocking the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The IOF stormed Tel town, in the northern West Bank province of Nablus, at dawn and wreaked havoc on civilian homes, before they kidnapped two young men aged 23-years-old.
At the same time, dozens of Israeli soldiers raked through Qalqilya’s eastern town of Azzoun, in the northern occupied West Bank, and kidnapped two Palestinian youths.
The IOF reportedly ransacked civilian homes and sealed off the main entrance to Azzoun town.
Overnight, heavily-armed Israeli patrols cordoned off the vicinities of Azzoun Atama and Beit Ameen towns allegedly after gunmen opened fire toward the main entrance to an Israeli settlement illegally built on Palestinian lands in the area.
Meanwhile, occupation patrols rolled into Bani Na’im town, east of al-Khalil, and kidnapped the Palestinian citizen Alyan Khalil and his wife, Umm Muhammad.
Palestinian ex-prisoner Ahmed Ibryoush was kidnapped by the IOF from Dura town, to the south of al-Khalil.
Israeli soldiers also rummaged into civilian homes in Bethlehem before they summoned the young man Hadi al-Wahsh to questioning.
In the meantime, clashes flared up in Beit Rima, west of Ramallah province, after heavily-armed occupation patrols stormed the area and cracked down on Palestinian anti-occupation youth.

The soldiers also invaded and searched many homes in Tal village, southwest of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, before abducting two young men, identified as Luay Hassan al-Bahti and Ma’rouf Bassel al-Hindi.
