The Israeli “City Council” in occupied East Jerusalem issued, Wednesday, demolition orders targeting several homes in the al-‘Isawiya town, in the heart of the city.
Raed Abu Mayyala, a member of the Follow-Up Committee in al-‘Isawiya, said dozens of soldiers, accompanied by members of the City Council, invaded the town, before breaking into many homes and buildings.
He added that the soldiers handed several Palestinians the demolition orders and summoned many of them for interrogation.
The Israeli authorities are claiming that the buildings were constructed without permits from the City council.
While Israel continues to build and expands its illegal, segregated colonies, the Palestinians are constantly denied construction permits, and even the few who receive them end up paying large amounts just for the paperwork, in addition to the already high fees imposed on the permit applications.

About 400 Palestinian prisoners in different Israeli jails are participating in the open-ended hunger strike, which started last Monday.
The mass hunger strike is taking place mainly in the prisons of Negev, Ramon, Nafha, Eshel, Ofer, Gilboa and Megiddo. The number of hunger strikers is expected to grow as others keep joining the protest step, which is dubbed “the Battle of Karama (dignity) 2.”
According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society, there are indirect talks with Israeli jailers and Egyptian efforts to urge the Israelis to respond to the just demands of the prisoners.
Top leaders of the prisoners on Monday announced the failure of their talks with Israeli jailers after their demands were rejected, especially with regard to using phones.
The hunger strikers have four main demands. The first one is to allow the prisoners to communicate with their families through providing their jails with telephone services, which are available in prisons where Israeli criminals and killers are held.
Secondly, the hunger strikers demand the Israeli prison service to remove the cellphone jammers inside jails, which constitute health hazards.
They also demand the jailers to allow all prisoners, including those from Hamas in Gaza, to receive visits from their families, and to allow all families in the West Bank to see their relatives twice a month.
Their fourth demand call for revoking all the new and old punitive measures against the Palestinian prisoners.
