An Israeli court on Sunday sentenced Palestinian university student Saber Mohra to five months in jail and a 2,000 NIS fine.
Mohra spent 38 days at al-Maskoubiya detention center before he was transferred to Ofer jail and appeared for trial.
Mohra was kidnapped from a Birzeit University student dormitory in Ramallah along with 11 students on 6 March.

An Israeli court in Haifa city on Sunday rejected a request to place Palestinian prisoner Aya al-Khatib under house arrest and decided to extend her detention and postpone her trial until May 13.
The court has extended the detention of 31-year-old Khatib, a Palestinian woman from Ar'ara town in the 1948 occupied lands, several times since she was kidnaped from her home on February 17.
During the court hearing that was held today, the defense replied to the indictment filed against the prisoner and a decision was taken to hold sessions to listen to witnesses’ statements.
The indictment against prisoner Khatib, who is noted for her charitable efforts, includes an accusation of helping poor families.
The Shin Bet security agency also claims that the Hamas Movement in Gaza recruited the young woman to carry out espionage activities and collecting funds.
According to legislation devised two years ago, Israel prohibits any Palestinian activity intended to provide humanitarian and social assistance for citizens.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Sunday kidnaped a number of Palestinian citizens in Jerusalem and the West Bank province of al-Khalil.
According to local sources, Israeli police forces stormed At-Tur town in east Jerusalem and kidnaped a young man identified as Omar Abu Ghannam after raiding several homes.
Police forces also raided some homes in Obeid neighborhood of Issawiya district in Jerusalem and kidnaped another young man called Ahmed Mahmoud.
Local sources said that the police forces intensively and randomly fired tear gas canisters during their campaign in Obeid neighborhood, without stating if this happened during clashes with local youths.
Meanwhile, the Israeli police financially penalized a group of Palestinian young men who performed nighttime Taraweeh prayers on al-Mujahedeen Road near the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. video
The police also forced the young men to leave the area although they showed keenness on following anti-coronavirus measures as they performed the prayers.

Palestinian MP Fathi al-Qar’awi on Saturday held the Israeli occupation government responsible for the life of detainee Mohammed Hasan, 21, who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 (coronavirus) at al-Maskoubiya detention center.
Al-Qar’awi said in a press statement that what happened to Hasan, who tested positive for coronavirus a few days after he was arbitrarily abducted from his family’s house, is a typical Israeli crime that is committed on a daily basis against the Palestinians in the West Bank.
Al-Qar’awi called on concerned human rights organizations to immediately act against Israeli violations and pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to release Hasan and allow him to receive the necessary treatment.

Al-Khatib’s family have been waiting for his release since early Saturday but they were shocked by the Israeli decision.

His trial was delayed several times before an Israeli court sentenced him to 14 months in jail in addition to a 5,000 NIS bail.

Israeli soldiers shot and seriously injured, on Friday evening, a young Palestinian man, abducted another and caused several others to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, after the army chased Palestinian workers near Jenin, in northern West Bank.

Palestinian political prisoner in Israeli detention Ahmad Mohammad Jalamneh has completed 17 years behind Israeli prison bars, said the Palestinian Prisoner Society.
Jalamneh, who comes from the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, was arrested on April 24, 2003, and was sentenced 20 years in prison for his activism in the armed resistance against the Israeli occupation.

The Israeli occupation army on Thursday notified several Palestinian families in the Jiftlik village in the central Jordan Valley of its intent to demolish their homes and displace them within a few days.
Local activist Aref Daraghmeh said that the Israeli occupation forces arrested one of the residents in Khilat al-Fula area in Jiftlik, where the demolitions will take place.
Daraghmeh added that the Israeli army claimed the measure was aimed at stopping the destruction of antiquities in the area.
