The Islamic Waqf Authority in occupied Jerusalem said that Jewish settlers on Monday morning drank an alcoholic beverage in the Aqsa Mosque's courtyards.
In a press release, the Waqf Authority explained that eight Jewish women and one man escorted by policemen toured the Mosque's courtyards before they stopped at the structure of Sabil Qasem Basha and started to eat some sweets and pouring wine from a bottle.

Jerusalem’s ex-prisoners, recaptured by the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA), voiced their firm disapproval of Israeli proposals to expel them from Occupied Jerusalem, reiterating their non-negotiable commitment to their right of return.
Head of the legal unit in the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, Jawad Boulos, quoted six Jerusalemite re-captured prisoners, held in the Gilboa jail, as reiterating their unyielding rejection of any “deportation deals” expected to be struck with the IOA, saying their right of return shall never be taken for “a bargaining chip.”
The lawyer’s statement came following a prison-visit he paid to the Palestinian prisoners Hussam Shahin, Aref al-Fakhouri, and Samer al-Issawi.
Meanwhile, Jerusalemite inmates opted for the appointment of a follow-up up committee to administer prisoners’ affairs at the Israeli occupation jails.
The decision comes as a reaction to the striking upsurge in the number of Jerusalemite detainees and the dire detention circumstances they have been made to endure at the Israeli occupation lock-ups.
Prisoner Hussam Shahin is expected to spearhead the committee. Names of the other nominees are to be announced sometime soon.
Lawyer Boulos further raised alarm bells over Israel’s transfer of eight Palestinian inmates in Gilboa jail to isolated cells under the pretext that a mobile phone has been found in one of the prison rooms.

Leadership of the Islamic Jihad prisoners’ committee notified the Israeli prison service (IPS) of its intent to initiate an open ended hunger strike in case the demands of Palestinian detainee Nahar Saadi, sentenced to four-back-to-back life sentences and 20 years in occupation jails, are not met by Sunday.
The committee said in a letter the strike is to be staged in solidarity with prisoner Saadi, who has been on hunger strike for 16 days in protest at visit-bans and solitary lock-down at the Israeli occupation jails.
Head of the Prisoners Center for Studies, Rafat Hamdouna, warned of the pre-planned hounding campaigns launched by the Israeli occupation government and apparatuses against Palestinian detainees.
He spoke out against the anti-humanitarian inter-prison-transfers, solitary confinement, visit-bans, medical-negligence, strip searches and tactics of collective punishment adopted by the IPS as part of sadistic attempts to crack down on the Palestinian captives.
The IPS has ceaselessly turned blind eyes and deaf ears to the prisoners’ appeals, Hamdouna further charged, calling on all pro-Palestine activists and institutions to immediately step in and urge the Israeli occupation to halt its racist practices against the Palestinian detainees, with no further delay.
A statement issued by the Prisoners Center on Saturday further warned of the serious repercussions of Israel’s mass-transfers of Palestinian detainees to solitary confinement.
Earlier, a couple of years ago, Palestinian prisoners had staged a 28-day-long hunger-strike in protest at being locked up in isolated cells.
At least 25 Palestinian inmates have reportedly been subjected to solitary confinement, including life-sentenced prisoner Saadi.
Around 54 Palestinian prisoners held in the Israeli Ashkelon jail have been transferred to solitary cells.
