More than 300,000 Palestinians have been detained in Israeli prisons since the outbreak of the first Intifada on 9 December 1987, the Palestinian Committee for Prisoners and ex-prisoners revealed Wednesday.
On the 28th anniversary of the Palestinian Intifada, the committee issued a report documenting the Israeli arrests across occupied Palestinian territories.
The report stated that Israeli arrests were a systematic policy that aims to subjugate the Palestinian people and to eliminate resistance.
The Israeli arrests affected all segments of the Palestinian society, the report added.
Despite the large number of Palestinians detained by the Israeli occupation, Palestinians will continue to fight passionately for their land, rights and freedom, head of the statistics department of the committee Abid Al-Nasser Farwaneh stressed.
He pointed out that dozens of Israeli prisons and detention centers since 1987 were built as part of the Israeli repressive policy.

Israeli special forces on Wednesday kidnapped a senior member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) from his home in Tubas city.
Local sources said that special forces erected barriers on al-Fari'ah street in Tubas and stormed the house of 30-year-old Iyad al-Maslamani, a noted DFLP figure in the city, before rounding him up.
Three young men from the city also suffered bullet injuries during clashes with Israeli soldiers who came to back up the special forces.
In a separate incident, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Wednesday raided several homes and kidnapped Palestinians during campaigns in different areas of al-Khalil province.
The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in al-Khalil said that Israeli soldiers kidnapped three young men from their homes in Beit Ummar town, north of the city.
The detainees were identified as Hamza Abu Mariya, 16, Rabie Awad, 19, and Abdul-Naser Abu Mariya, 17.

The District judge sentenced on Tuesday four young Jerusalemite men after convicting them of creating a military cell and planning to kidnap a soldier.
Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the District judge sentenced four Jerusalemites as follows:
Nour Shihadeh Ahmad Hamdan 27, sentenced for 12 years in prison.
Emad Adnan Subhi Sha’er 23, sentenced for 11 years in prison.
Amjad Adnan Rajab Razem 25, sentenced for 10 years in prison.
Omar Ghazi Ibrahim Wazwaz 23, sentenced for 32 months in prison.
The occupation forces had arrested the young men on 20/3/2013.

Israeli forces at dawn on Tuesday arrested six Palestinians in a large-scale storming campaign in Qalqilya and Jenin cities in the West Bank. Clashes then erupted resulting in suffocation cases among dozens of Palestinians.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that Israeli troops arrested three Palestinians in Qalqilya and three others from Jenin. One of the arrested was rounded up at al-Karamah crossing while he was returning home from Jordan.
Clashes broke out in Jabaa town in Jenin at dawn hours after Israeli forces stormed Palestinians’ homes and arrested two residents.
The sources also stated that Israeli soldiers provocatively broke into town, searched its houses and abused its inhabitants.
The soldiers opened their gunfire, sound grenades and tear gas at Palestinian youths who threw stones at Israeli forces. The clashes resulted in 20 injuries among Palestinians, the sources pointed out.

A Palestinian medic and a child were among dozens of injured citizens on Tuesday evening during clashes that broke out in Bethlehem and Ramallah.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said that a medic was hit in his head with a tear gas bomb, causing him serious wounds. He was then transferred to Beit Jala hospital for treatment.
Along the same line, a child suffered live shot injuries in his abdomen during clashes that erupted in Ramallah. The injured child had then undergone a surgery in Palestine Medical Complex.
Local sources said that the clashes were reported at the northern entrance to Bethlehem and Jalazoun refugee camp in Ramallah.
Several civilians choked on teargas during the confrontations, the sources added.
Similar clashes broke out at the western entrance of Silwad town in Ramallah and at Qalandia checkpoint north of occupied Jerusalem.
On the other hand, IOF arrested a 14-year-old child from Yabad town in Jenin for allegedly stoning setters’ cars.

The soldiers also invaded several neighborhoods in Hebron city, and searched the home of former political prisoner Mousa Waswaz, who lives in Gaza after Israel forced him out of the West Bank.
They installed roadblocks in the city in addition to the main entrances of Sammoa’, Sa’ir and Halhoul towns, in addition to the al-Harayeq area and the al-Fawwar refugee camp.

Akka became aware of Marouf's injuries while visiting Ofer prison, where the inmate is being held.
Akka condemned Israel’s mistreatment of Marouf, calling his injuries "unfathomable," and those responsible "criminal."
"I don't know the nature of the directives or training the Israeli guards must have received to become this brutal," Akka said.
Marouf also suffers from epilepsy and gangrene on the right side of his body. Recently, Marouf underwent surgery to have a diseased kidney removed.

The leader in the Arab Liberation Front in Jenin Atta Aghbarieh was detained Monday evening for several hours at the Israeli-controlled Karama crossing that links West Bank with Jordan.
He was also summoned for investigation in Salem military camp west of Jenin.

Israeli justice minister Ayelet Shaked has proposed a new law allowing the government to seize homes of Palestinians accused of carrying out stabbing or car-ramming attacks in addition to demolishing them.
According to Maariv newspaper on Monday, Shaked submitted a bill in this regard to the Israeli ministerial committee for legislation in order to strengthen Israel's ability to fight Palestinian vehicular and stabbing attacks in particular.
The justice minister explained that her bill, if approved, would expand the powers of the security authorities and further deter Palestinians from attacking Israelis.

A young Palestinian, only 18 years of age, was shot and killed, earlier on Tuesday at dawn, after dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded Deheishe refugee camp, south of the West Bank district of Bethlehem. The soldiers also kidnapped five, and injured many others.
Malek Akram Shahin, 18, was shot with a live israeli army round in his head, and was moved to Beit Jala Hospital, where he died of his serious injury, medical sources said.
Eyewitnesses said a large Israeli military force invaded the refugee camp from various directions, leading to clashes with dozens of local youths, who hurled stones and empty bottles on them.
The army fired dozens of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs, causing several injuries.
The soldiers stormed and searched dozens of homes in the camp, and kidnapped five Palestinians, known to be members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
The kidnapped Palestinians have been identified as Dia al-Ja’bari, Ali Mohammad Abu Ajamiyya, Mustafa al-Hasanat, Qussai Abu Laban and Mohammad Elias Sarahna. The soldiers also summoned Odai Ayyad and Bilal al-Afandi for interrogation in the Etzion military base.
In addition, the soldiers interrogated many families, while searching and ransacking their homes in the refugee camp.

The clashes were mainly concentrated in the al-Moftah area, on the eastern entrance of the refugee camp.
A young Palestinian, only 18 years of age, was shot and killed, earlier on Tuesday at dawn, after dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded Deheishe refugee camp, south of the West Bank district of Bethlehem. The soldiers also kidnapped five, and injured many others.
Malek Akram Shahin, 18, was shot with a live israeli army round in his head, and was moved to Beit Jala Hospital, where he died of his serious injury, medical sources said.
Eyewitnesses said a large Israeli military force invaded the refugee camp from various directions, leading to clashes with dozens of local youths, who hurled stones and empty bottles on them.
The army fired dozens of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs, causing several injuries.
The soldiers stormed and searched dozens of homes in the camp, and kidnapped five Palestinians, known to be members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
The kidnapped Palestinians have been identified as Dia al-Ja’bari, Ali Mohammad Abu Ajamiyya, Mustafa al-Hasanat, Qussai Abu Laban and Mohammad Elias Sarahna. The soldiers also summoned Odai Ayyad and Bilal al-Afandi for interrogation in the Etzion military base.
In addition, the soldiers interrogated many families, while searching and ransacking their homes in the refugee camp.
