Israeli forces today overnight detained 15 Palestinians, including a father and his son, in multiple raids across the occupied West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoners’ Society (PPS).
PPS confirmed in a press release that Israeli police Wednesday evening rounded up seven Palestinians, including a teen who was injured by police gunfire, from Jerusalem district.
In Bethlehem district, PPS said that Israeli forces detained four Palestinians, including three from Duheisha refugee camp. Among the three were a 50-year-old father and his son.
In Ramallah district, Israeli military vehicles stormed the Ramallah city neighborhood of al-Tireh, where soldiers detained a Palestinian, ransacked several houses and seized the recordings of surveillance cameras.
Soldiers also conducted separate two raids into Kafr Ein and Beit Sira villages, northwest and west of Ramallah city, resulting in the detention of two teens.
In the northern West Bank, a similar predawn raid was conducted in Kafr Qaddum village, east of Qalqilia, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians -- including numerous women and children -- are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities.
Soldiers Abduct Fifteen Palestinians, Injure Three, In West Bank
Israeli soldiers abducted, on Wednesday at night and on Thursday at dawn, 15 Palestinians, including children, from their homes, and injured at least three young men, in several parts of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported.
The PPS office in Bethlehem, south of the occupied Jerusalem, said the soldiers searched and ransacked many homes and abducted Bilal Ibrahim ad-Dibis, 50, his son Mohannad, 20, in addition to Yahia Adel Asakra and Wajdi Adel Daraghma.
The soldiers also invaded Kafr Ein and Beit Sira towns, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, searched homes and abducted ‘Atef Abdul-Mo’ti Refa’ey, 16, Abdullah Mohammad Abu Safiyya, 19, and Ahmad al-Malhi.
It is worth mentioning that al-Malhi, from Betunia town west of Ramallah, was released hours after he was taken prisoner.
The soldiers also attacked many Palestinian protesters in Betunia town, and fired dozens of rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades at them.
Medical sources said the soldiers shot three young men with rubber-coated steel bullets, and causing several others to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.
In Qalqilia, in northern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Ahmad Emad Eshteiwi, 20, from his home.
On Thursday at night, the soldiers abducted seven Palestinians, including children, from occupied East Jerusalem, after the army stormed and ransacked their homes.
The abducted Palestinians have been identified as Nidal Abu Rmeila, Haitham Amin Siyam, Malek Abu Swai, Ahmad Sweidan, Mustafa Afifi, Ziad Abu Ryala and Karim Abu Kaf.

The army then took him to an Israeli hospital, where he received treatment, including stitches to the head, before moving him to an interrogation facility.

Violent clashes broke out on Wednesday in Shu’fat refugee camp, east of Occupied Jerusalem, after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed a popular conference held in solidarity with Sheikh Ekrima Sabri and in protest at the US administration’s peace deal. video
According to local sources, Israeli police and intelligence forces stormed the location of the conference, which was called for by noted Jerusalemite families, and forced the participants to leave the venue.
The IOF also handed some participants summonses for interrogation over their organization of the event.
Soon later, skirmishes erupted between Israeli soldiers and local youths upon the former’s withdrawal from the place.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) last Tuesday brutally assaulted a Palestinian citizen suffering from a kidney problem before kidnaping him from his home in Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem.
According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, the IOF violently stormed the house of 21-year-old Mohamed Taqateqa and physically assaulted him.
The soldiers embarked on hitting him hard in his stomach and back with their fists and rifle butts, although they already know that he suffers from a serious health problem in his kidneys, a statement released by the Commission said.
They then hauled him in handcuffs to the Etzion detention center and locked him up under harsh conditions with no regard for his health suffering before transferring him to Ofer jail.
A court hearing will be held for him on Thursday to extend his detention. The reason for his arrest is still unknown.

Palestinian prisoner Alaa al-Hems, from the Gaza Strip, suffers from multiple serious health problems as a result of his exposure to medical neglect by the Israeli prison service.
According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, prisoner Hems did not suffer from any chronic health problem before his detention, but his condition suddenly worsened during his presence in Israeli jails.
The prisoner has been suffering for a while from tuberculosis, which developed into serious lung complications after he took medication prescribed by Israeli doctors.
Besides his lung problems, he also suffers from lymphoma, a tumor between his liver and stomach, severe pains in the bladder area where he underwent surgery last year, hematuria, acute gastritis, kidney pains, and frequent headaches.
Despite his great suffering and agony, he is only given 11 types of analgesic and sleeping medication.
Prisoner Hems, a father of four children, has been in jail since January 24, 2009, serving 29 years.

Dozens of Israeli settlers on Tuesday morning broke into al-Aqsa Mosque amid heavy police presence and tight restrictions on Palestinian worshipers.
Jerusalem's Islamic Awqaf Department said that the Israeli police allowed 123 Jewish settlers to storm al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning.
The settlers performed Talmudic rituals and roamed al-Aqsa courtyards while receiving presentations on the alleged "Temple Mount".
Meanwhile, the Israeli police forces tightened entry restrictions on Palestinian worshipers.
Two worshipers named Areen al-Za'anin and Mohammed Amara were handed orders banning them from entering al-Aqsa Mosque for six months and four months, respectively.

The Israeli army and security apparatus issued orders, on Monday evening, barring the Palestinian governor of occupied East Jerusalem, Adnan Gheith, from entering the West Bank, and another order preventing him from communicating with the Palestinian Authority.
Media sources said the army summoned the governor for interrogation in the al-Maskobiyya detention center and handed him the two orders.
They added that the order’s effective date is February 13th and is valid for six months.
It is worth mentioning that Gheith, along with the Secretary of Fateh Movement, Shadi Mitwer, are repeatedly abducted, interrogated and imprisoned by the Israeli army as part of Israel’s constant attempt for prevent the Palestinians from having political activities in occupied Jerusalem.

As part of its collective punishment policy against Palestinians, the Israeli army notified today the family of a detainee that its home is going to be demolished in reprisal for an attack that left one Israeli settler dead, according to a local official.
Izzat Badwan, head of Kubar village council, told WAFA that the Israeli army informed the family of Qassam Barghouti, who is held in prison, of its decision to demolish the family’s two floor house in Kubar.
The army told the family it has until Thursday to object this decision at Israeli courts, but the family said it will not file any objection with Israeli courts since they are going to rule for the military anyhow as has been in all previous similar cases.
Barghouti was detained at the end of September 2019 for allegedly taking part in planting a bomb near a Ramallah-area village that caused the death of an Israeli settler.
