We are here in solidarity with the prisoners,” said Um Osama Bargouthi, wife of a hunger striker.
Five of the hunger strikers have Jordanian citizenships, while the others hold identity card from the Palestinian Authority.
Helmi al-A’raj, the director of the Center for Defense of Liberties, told Press TV that the prisoners demand freedom.
“They want their freedom. The Jordanian prisoners who are on hunger strike demand to be freed and to go back to Jordan. The Palestinian prisoners are refusing food in protest to the administrative detention policies. These policies are oppressive and contradictory to international law and international humanitarian law,” he said.
Human rights experts have expressed concerns over the deteriorating health condition of the hunger-striking prisoners. Observers also warned of deliberate medical negligence by the Israeli Prison Services against the hunger striking prisoners as a way to stop their acts of disobedience.
“Their health condition was declining at a quick pace, there is a real danger for their lives, a danger of death and this is the result of the Israeli policy of medical negligence,” al-A’raj also said.
Administrative detention is a sort of imprisonment without trial or charge that allows Israel to incarcerate Palestinians for up to six months. The detention order can be renewed for indefinite periods of time.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslim families are used to breaking their fast together at the time of the Maghrib (sunset) prayer, this is not the case for Palestinian prisoners' families. Thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails spend this Ramadan away from their families and children and away from Ramadan special atmosphere.
MP Mahmoud Ramahi's wife said that her family got used to spending the holy month of Ramadan without him due to his repeated arrest and detention without charge or trial in Israeli jails.
She said that the Israeli authorities deliberately kept thousands of prisoners away from their families during Ramadan as part of the Israeli systematic policy against them.
More than 5 thousands prisoners are held in Israeli jails including 1000 sick prisoners, 280 children, 15 female prisoners, and 13 MPs and ministers, in addition to 16 prisoners have declared hunger strike.
Several local institutions used to organize collective breakfast during the Holy month of Ramadan and visits to the prisoners' families in order to reinforce their steadfastness and to boost their morale.

Palestinian demonstrators take cover during clashes with Israeli security forces following a protest against the expropriation of Palestinian land by Israel in the village of Kfar Qaddum, near Nablus, in the occupied West Bank, on July 5, 2013.
Two Palestinian female activists have been put on trial in an Israeli court on charges of instigating in a demonstration against Israeli regime’s illegal settlement expansion in the West Bank.
On Tuesday, the women known as Nariman Tamimi and Rana Hamadeh went on trial in an Israeli military court over entering a "closed military zone" during a demonstration in Nabi Saleh village on June 28.
Earlier this week, Amnesty International issued a statement saying that “They (the two activists) have been denied the basic human right to peacefully protest over land illegally seized by Israeli settlers, and the Israeli judiciary has used spurious legal tools to punish them.”
On June 6, two Palestinian women were wounded in an attack by Israeli regime forces on a group of demonstrators protesting against the illegal settlement expansion near the city of Al-Khalil (Hebron) in the occupied West Bank.
The Tel Aviv regime continues expanding its illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, despite calls from the international community to stop the move.
More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds in 1967.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers beat several Palestinian farmers in the town of Huwara in the occupied West Bank on Monday.
The Israeli settlers also stole 300 sheep from the farmers and attempted to bring them back to their illegal settlements.
In recent years, Israeli settlers in the West Bank have often assaulted Palestinians and vandalized their property. However, the Tel Aviv regime rarely detains the assailants.

A Palestinian human rights activist accused the occupation authorities of targeting Jerusalemite children as they have arrested since the beginning of the year 2013 more than 170 children. Professor of International Law Dr. Hanna Issa said in a press statement on Tuesday: "The detention of children and the house arrest imposed on them represents the first Israeli plans to kill childhood."
"The arrests of Jerusalemite children have turned the child who is looking for and defending his rights to a child completely deprived of his rights and homeland. The child starts to suffer from psychological problems, hair loss and psychological trauma caused by the circumstances of his arrest, amid his parents' inability to protect him", Issa explained.
He noted that the neighborhoods of Tur, Issawiyya, Silwan and the Old City have witnessed many cases of child arrests, noting that the arrests are always carried out at night by the special forces, which deliberately break into the child's house in a brutal way.
Issa also pointed out that the Israeli forces expose the children to psychological and physical torture during the investigation in order to force them to confess to throwing stones.
He added that the occupation authorities impose house arrest for long periods on dozens of Palestinian children in the occupied Jerusalem, noting that this procedure puts the child and his family in a hard situation and deprives the child from going to school.

Israeli troops have abducted a Lebanese shepherd from the occupied Shebaa farms in southern Lebanon.
An Israeli commando force of 15 soldiers crossed the border of the Shebaa farms on Monday, abducting Lebanese shepherd Youssef Hussein Rhayyel.
Rhayyel was taken to an Israeli military post in the occupied farms.
The Israeli regime forces informed the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) of the abduction.
"UNIFIL duly informed the Lebanese army about the kidnap operation, whilst UNIFIL General Commander, Paolo Serra is holding necessary contacts to ensure the release of the shepherd," said UNIFIL spokesperson, Andrea Tinenti.
Lebanese army reportedly said in a statement that Rhayyel was kidnapped inside the liberated part of Shebaa region.

Israel's supreme court has agreed to reduce the administrative detention of Omar Barghouthi by two weeks, his lawyer said Monday.
Barghouthi, 60, has been imprisoned without charge or trial for over two years.
An Israeli court previously reduced Barghouthi's latest 6-month administrative detention order to four months following a prior appeal.
On Monday, the sentence was reduced to three-and-a-half months so Barghouthi could spend the Eid al-Fitr holiday with his family, Palestinian Prisoners Society lawyer Jawad Boulos told Ma'an.
Barghouthi will be released on Aug. 8.
He has been held without charge or trial because he allegedly "poses a threat to the security and safety of the public," Boulos said.
"Barghouthi will have served two-and-a-half years when he is released, but keeping him behind bars and depriving him of his family all that time without any charges and without even interrogation is unjust, oppressive and tyrannical," the lawyer added.
