The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported, Monday, that administrative detainee Odai Steity, 24 years of age, is ongoing with his strike for the 26th consecutive day, and is facing constant violations and pressures by the prison authority, in an attempt to force him to quit his strike.
The detainee, from Jenin, told a PPS lawyer that, before he was moved to solitary confinement in Eshil prison, he was placed in solitary confinement for 22 consecutive days in the Negev Detention camp.
Steity said the prison administration confiscated his electrical equipment from his cell, and even denied him the right to shower for twelve consecutive days.
The PPS stated that the detainee faces constant harassment by the soldiers who refused to give him cold water to drink, and even barbequed meat near his cell.
Steity was taken prisoner on November 16, 2014, and remained under Administrative Detention, without trial.
He is currently in a small cell that does not even have a toilet, and lacks basic components of human use.
Steity is denied the right to receive clothes from his family, and the Red Cross, and suffers various health issues in his bones, joints and his abdomen, in addition to being unable to walk without assistance, but remains denied the right to a wheelchair.
Despite his health condition, and ongoing violations, the detainee told the PPS he is determined to continue his hunger strike until Israel ends his arbitrary, illegal, administrative detention.

Lawyer Hanan al-Khatib of the Palestinian Detainees’ Committee has reported that detained lawyer, Shireen al-‘Eesawy faced very difficult conditions in solitary confinement for more than two months.
Al-Khatib managed to visit al-‘Eesawy who told her that she was moved into solitary confinement two months ago after an argument erupted between a number of Palestinian detainees and prison guards in the Ha-Sharon prison for women.
The imprisoned layer said she went on hunger strike between June 15 and June 22, and that she was also placed in solitary confinement in her cell, when she was held in the Ramla Israeli prison.
“The cell was too small; its door sealed shut. They even sealed the door with plastic,” she stated, “I couldn’t breathe and fell unconscious before they removed the plastic to allow some air through.”
“I had no sheets or covers. I had to sleep on the ground; they even confiscated all of my belongings,” the detained lawyer said, “The cell has no sink and is completely unfit for human use. Whenever they took me to see my lawyer, or whenever I was shortly allowed into the prison yard, the soldiers always cuffed me, and chained my legs.”
She also said that, every time the soldiers move the detainees to court, they start the transfer around three at dawn, and return them back to prison around one after midnight the next day.
“They make sure the entire process is very exhausting to us,” al-‘Eesawy stated, “They deliberately deny us right to sleep, or even to rest.”
The detained lawyer was kidnapped on June 3, 2014, and the Israeli High Court repeatedly refused to release her on bail.
Al-‘Eesawy has been repeatedly kidnapped and imprisoned by Israel, and was one of more than a thousand detainees who were released, in October 2011, under the Shalit prisoners swap agreement, that also secured the release of capture soldier Gilad Shalit.
On March 6, 2014, both Shireen and her brother Medhat al-‘Eesawy, who is also a lawyer, were kidnapped along with many lawyers in occupied Jerusalem.
The lawyers were released on bail, while the Israeli Internal Security demanded keeping Shireen in prison for what they called “smuggling letters to Palestinian detainees,” from their families in the Gaza Strip.
Following her abduction, al-‘Eesawy was moved to the al-Maskobiyya interrogation center in Jerusalem, and was forced into solitary confinement, in addition to intense interrogation for thirty days, each day from 10 in the morning until after midnight.
On Tuesday, June 16 2015, Shireen declared a hunger strike. She was then remanded for six months, for further interrogation, as Israel claimed she “provided services to organizations and groups that present a threat to Israel’s security.”
Shireen is the sister detainee Samer al-‘Eesawy, who was sent to court on May 10 2015, where the judge reinstated his original 30-year imprisonment term for “violating the terms of his release.”
He spent ten years of his 30-year term before his was released under the Shalit deal, and the new ruling against him reinstated the twenty remaining years of his sentence.
On Monday December 23 2013, Samer was released after being held for 17 months; the agreement for his release came after his historic 277-day hunger strike.
In June 0f 2014, Israel recaptured at least 50 ex-detainees that were released in the 2011 prisoners exchange agreement, al-‘Eesawy was among the kidnapped.
Most of them remain either held under administrative detention - without indictment or trial - or are still awaiting military court ruling.

Islamic Jihad leader Khader Adnan held for questioning over his travel to Jerusalem without entry permit.
The Israel Police detained a Palestinian militant leader on Monday for questioning over his travel to Jerusalem, a police spokeswoman said, a day after he was freed from prison in a deal ending an almost two-month-long hunger strike.
Khader Adnan of the Islamic Jihad faction was taken into custody near al-Aqsa mosque in the Old City in East Jerusalem. A police spokeswoman said he lacked an Israeli entry permit. "He has been detained, not arrested," she said. "Whether he will be formally arrested or released will be decided when his questioning is completed."
On Sunday, Adnan was released from an Israeli prison after staging a 56-day hunger strike in protest at being held without trial under so-called administrative detention, a method Israel says it employs as a security measure to prevent violence. Israel arrested Adnan, 37, last July for the 10th time.
Both sides had feared that his death from starvation would hurt a shaky Gaza truce or spur further violence.
Adnan is a known Islamic Jihad figure in the West Bank, territory that Israel captured in the 1967 Six-Day War and which Palestinians seek for a future independent state. Like Islamist Hamas, Islamic Jihad opposes peace deals between the Palestinians and Israel and advocates the destruction of Israel.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Monday kidnapped three Palestinian civilians, including a Hamas leader, following raids across the southern West Bank province of al-Khalil.
A PIC news reporter said IOF soldiers in army jeeps rolled into al-Khalil’s western town of Idna and kidnapped the leading Hamas activist and ex-prisoner Ismail al-Natah.
Al-Natah, an ex-political prisoner, had gone on a two-week hunger strike and released from the PA jail in Jericho some 10 days ago.
Meanwhile, six Israeli army jeeps rolled into al-Zaraka town and scoured the family home of prisoner Mohamed al-Halayka, sentenced to 22 years in jail. The break-in culminated in the abduction of al-Halayka’s 23-year-old son, Majd.
The heavily-armed troops showered a group of Palestinian unarmed youths with randomly-shot spates of live ammunition and tear gas canisters.
The young protesters reacted by hurling stones at the invading IOF troops.
A number of Palestinian young men have been nabbed by the IOF in the area over the past five days.

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday gave instructions to his ministers to vote against the bill which allows execution of Palestinian prisoners, saying that he opposed it. The order came during Netanyahu’s meeting with the Likud party ministers. According to the Hebrew broadcast, the bill might be discussed three months later, to find a “solution.”
MK Sharon Gal from the right-wing Yisrael Beiteinu party, was scheduled to present the new bill to the Knesset on Sunday. The law would allow the execution of Palestinian prisoners and assailants in Israeli jails charged with “crimes over national backgrounds.”
The law was predicted to gain support of the Likud party, since 5 out of 10 members in its committee have showed support to it, alongside the Jewish home party.
In order to pass, the bill needs to gain vote of the majority of MKs, and will be passed in the government and go through three readings before the Knesset.
A similar bill was previously presented, but was immediately slaughtered due to protests by human-rights organizations and fears of “distorting the image of Israel.”
According to a report broadcast on the second Hebrew channel Thursday, the proposed law raises many disagreements in the Israeli political arena.
Israeli forces in the past three months have killed 12, injured 317 and arrested approximately 1118 Palestinians. The soldiers often shoot dead any Palestinian assailant on the spot, in case they attempt to attack any Israeli settler or soldier.
Last week, 17 year-old Mohammed Al-Kasaba was shot dead by soldiers as he attempted to climb the apartheid wall near Qalandia and attend Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Despite the decision to open an investigation into the shooting, the Israeli officer who killed Al-Kasaba enjoys the support of the IOF on a political level. This was confirmed by a senior official in the region who visited the site of al-Kasaba’s shooting and expressed his support for the Israeli officer involved.
Before Al-Kasaba, Ayoub Abu Rumaila (21), was shot and wounded by occupation forces at the Qalandiya checkpoint, in the road between Ramallah and East Jerusalem.
Other than the direct killings by Israeli soldiers, Israel often demolishes the homes of Palestinian assailants, withdraws residency papers and IDs from their families who are threatened with administrative detention at any moment.

“The Israeli occupation authority has done it all to mar the joy my family and myself felt the day of my release,” freed Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan said, vowing that none of such “sadistic Israeli schemes” shall ever see the day.
“The Israeli occupation made a mistake not only in arresting me the first time and the second but also in releasing me at such an early hour in an attempt to spoil my joy and that of my people,” he said.
“Today Israel will not only witness its failure to do so but also the support provided by my own people from every corner of the occupied Palestinian territories,” Adnan added.
“I am in good health. All praises be to Allah,” he further stated despite the remarkable weight loss and exhaustion showing on his face and body.
Prisoner Adnan, a father of six, returned from the brink of death and was received at the main entrance to his home town Arraba, in Jenin, by dozens of activists and family members at six a.m.
Israel has released activist Khader Adnan from jail following a deal last month in which he agreed to end a 55-day hunger strike he initiated in protest at arbitrary administrative detention.
His strike had galvanized Palestinians behind a "battle of empty stomachs" campaign against Israeli administrative detention, which holds Palestinian citizens in jail with neither charge nor trial.

MK Sharon Gal from the right-wing Yisrael Beiteinu party, is scheduled to present a new bill to the Knesset on Sunday that would allow the execution of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. The bill is predicted to gain support of the Likud party, since 5 out of 10 members in its committee have showed support to it, alongside the Jewish home party.
The bill allows the execution of Palestinian prisoners or assailants charged with “crimes over national backgrounds.”
In order to pass, the bill needs to gain vote of the majority of MKs, and will be passed in the government and go through three readings before the Knesset.
A similar bill was previously presented, but was immediately slaughtered due to protests by human-rights organizations and fears of “distorting the image of Israel.”
According to a report broadcasted on the second Hebrew channel Thursday, the proposed law raises many disagreements in the Israeli political arena.

Israeli released, on Sunday at dawn, long time hunger striker, Palestinian Administrative Detainee Khader Adnan, and handed him to the Palestinian Military District Coordination office, before he was moved to hospital for a medical checkup.
The Israeli army transferred Adnan to the Arraba junction, twelve kilometers southwest of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, where he was handed to the Palestinian side.
The Mean News Agency said the release of Adnan, 34 years of age, was carried out under strict Israeli security measures, without prior notice, to avoid public festivities celebrating his release.
Maan said that even Adnan’s family did know not the exact hour of his release.
Adnan held a 55-day hunger strike demanding Israel to end his arbitrary Administrative Detention, without charges or trial.
Head of the Palestinian District Coordination Office in Jenin and Tubas, Lieutenant Mojahed Abu Dayya, personally welcomed Adnan, and said the detainee refused to talk to the media, apparently due to Israeli preconditions barring him from making statements in the first few hours of his release.
Adnan is a married father of two children; he was kidnapped on July 8 2014, and was held under Administrative Detention for six months.
Just before his scheduled release, the Israeli Prosecution filed an appeal against his release.
It is the second time Adnan has gone on hunger strike against the practice, following a 66-day long hunger strike he undertook in 2012 -- the longest carried out by a Palestinian in Israeli detention.
Back then, Adnan agreed to end his hunger strike, along with 2000 Palestinian detainees who joined the strike, after Israel vowed to lessen the use of Administrative Detention, and improve prison conditions.
Israel unilaterally backed down, and continued its violations.
In total, the detainee was held under arbitrary Administrative Detention orders ten times in his life.

Israeli jailers release hunger striker Khader Adnan

Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan, a prominent Islamic Jihad official, extracted his freedom at dawn Sunday after 55 days of hunger strike in protest at his administrative detention.
Adnan told his family over the phone at an early hour today that he would be released within a few hours.
The prisoner had gone on hunger strike for 55 consecutive days before he suspended it on June 29 following an Israeli pledge to release him before the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In 2012, his heroic hunger strike for 67 days forced his jailers to release him following a deal with his lawyer.
However, Adnan was later arrested again in 2014 at an Israeli military checkpoint in Jenin city before he started his recent hunger strike last May to protest an extension of his administrative detention.
