Occupation forces injure eight Palestinians in Jerusalem
Picture
Israeli occupation forces injured eight Palestinians today during a raid of the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Isawiya, said the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS). video

The occupation forces raided the neighborhood in the afternoon hours provoking clashes with local Palestinian protesters.

The forces fired rubber-coated rounds and teargas at civilians, injuring some of them with rubber-coated rounds and causing others, including a pregnant woman, to suffocate from gas inhalation.

Other civilians also sustained burns after being sprayed with pepper gas by the forces.

Over the past couple of months, excessive police brutality and indiscriminate daily raids by Israeli forces on al-Isawiya have left residents of the occupied Jerusalem district exhausted, with no end in sight.

Many Jerusalemites injured in Israeli police violence in Issawiya

The Israeli occupation police on Saturday evening stormed Issawiya district in east Jerusalem and savagely attacked Palestinian citizens.

According to local sources, police forces stormed Al Mahmoud neighborhood in Issawiya and carried out violent raids on different homes, which provoked clashes with local youths.

The police physically assaulted citizens and used pepper spray and tear gas during its campaign in the neighborhood.

The Red Crescent said its ambulance crews hospitalized and provided on-site medical assistance for many wounded citizens after their exposure to police attacks.

One of those citizens was a pregnant woman who suffered from her exposure to tear gas fumes.

Two citizens suffered eye injuries after being attacked with pepper spray, while four others suffered from rubber bullet injuries.

Many others also suffered from the effects of tear gas and received instant medical help.

Meanwhile, local sources said the Israeli police kidnaped a citizen called Saadi Mahmoud and his sons, Ahmed and Mohamed, from their home in Issawiya.

Earlier in the morning, police forces raided homes in different areas of east Jerusalem and kidnaped several Palestinian citizens, including teenagers, after they used fireworks to celebrate the release of high school matriculation exam scores.

Occupation forces disperse protesters near Nablus
Israeli occupation forces dispersed today dozens of non-violent protesters holding a non-violent protest against the Israeli colonial settlement construction, outside the village of Asira ash-Shamaliya, north of Nablus city in the occupied West Bank, said WAFA correspondent. video

Soldiers fired teargas and rubber-coated rounds at Palestinians and international activists while they were demonstrating against the occupation authorities' plan to confiscate a Palestinian-owned land plot near the village, where illegal Israeli settlers recently set up two caravans apparently in a prelude to establish a new settlement outpost.

The protesters, who included local civilians and international peace activists, waved the flag of Palestine and chanted slogans that decried Israel's colonial activities in the occupied Palestinian Territory. They also performed the weekly Friday prayer at the land threatened with Israeli confiscation.
At least two protesters were injured, including the village's mayor, Hazem Yasin, who sustained fractures in the hand after being hit by a teargas canister. He was moved to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. video

Israeli settlement activities in occupied Palestine are illegal in international law, and have been the subject of condemnations by the world countries over the past years.

The international community considers the establishment of Israeli settlements in the Israeli-occupied territories illegal on one of two bases: that they are in violation of Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, or that they are in breach of international declarations.
