IOF kidnaps 13 West Bankers in dawn raids
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Thursday kidnaped at least 13 Palestinian citizens after raiding homes in different West Bank areas.

According to local sources, the IOF kidnaped five young men from different areas of Bethlehem province.

In Ramallah, the IOF kidnaped senior Islamic Jihad official Jum’ah al-Tayeh from his home in Kafr Ni'ma town. He was released recently after spending over 18 years in Israeli jails.

The IOF also stormed the town of Dura in southern al-Khalil and the town of Aqraba in southeastern Nablus and kidnaped two citizens identified as Katamel Akteel and Mumen Dairya.

In a related context, the Hebrew radio said on Thursday morning that the Israeli army arrested four Palestinian young men in Sahel Salem area in the east of Nablus, claiming they were found in possession of two Molotov cocktails and one homemade explosive device.

A Palestinian recently released by Israel after serving 18 years behind bars for resisting the occupation was among nine Palestinians Israeli forces have detained late last night and early this morning in the occupied territories, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).

It said the army detained Juma Tayeh, from the village of Kufr Nimeh, in the Ramallah area,
who recently completed his 18-year prison sentence and released.

The army also detained five Palestinians from different towns, villages and refugee camps in the Bethlehem district, and another resident of the village of Kharsa in the south of the West Bank.

In occupied Jerusalem, Israeli forces detained two residents of Silwan neighborhood, said the PPS. video

IOF arrests four Palestinians near Nablus

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday evening arrested four Palestinian youths near Nablus in the northern West Bank.

An IOF spokesman claimed that they foiled an attack attempted by a cell of four Palestinians who were arrested near Nablus City.

He claimed that the detainees were possessing two Molotov cocktails and a hommade grenade.

IOF arrest campaigns are a daily occurrence in the West Bank that has seen an alarming rise recently.

Cancer-stricken detainee in Israeli jail likely to suffer serious health deterioration
Picture
The health condition of a cancer-stricken Palestinian detainee in an Israeli jail could deteriorate, warned the Prisoners Affairs Commission on Wednesday.

The Commission warned in a press release that 46-year-old Nidal Abu 'Ahour, 46, currently in the Israeli prison of al-Ramleh, could face imminent health deterioration as he has been recently diagnosed with kidney cancer and long been suffering from kidney failure. video

It elaborated that Abu 'Ahour, who only has one kidney, has been subject to violent interrogations conducted by the Israeli intelligence despite his illnesses.

It pointed out that an attorney representing Abu 'Ahour has submitted a request to the Israeli military court at Ofer, a notorious detention facility, west of Ramallah, demanding Abu 'Ahour’s urgent release due to his health condition, but the request was rejected.

The statement added that an appeal was submitted and a court hearing will be held tomorrow, Thursday, in this regard.

Abu A'hour, a father of seven children, was detained during a military raid from his home in Bethlehem city on June 23rd, and is still detained.

Israel’s widely condemned practice of administrative detention that allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.

The US State Department has said in past reports on human rights conditions for Palestinians that administrative detainees are not given the “opportunity to refute allegations or address the evidentiary material presented against them in court.”

Amnesty International has described Israel’s use of administrative detention as a “bankrupt tactic” and has long called on Israel to bring its use to an end.
Palestinian detainees have continuously resorted to open-ended hunger strikes as a way to protest their illegal administrative detention and to demand an end to this policy, which violates international law.

Deliberate medical negligence is a common punitive measure used against Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails. It is one of the commonly cited motivations for hunger strikers protesting the dismal and cruel conditions endured by detained Palestinians.

PPS: “Israeli Soldiers Abduct Eleven Palestinians In The West Bank”
Picture
The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) stated, earlier Wednesday, that Israeli troops abducted eleven Palestinian residents from various parts of the occupied West Bank.

In a statement, the PPS said Israeli troops invaded various areas of the occupied West Bank, stormed and ransacked many homes, starting late on Tuesday night until early dawn hours Wednesday, and that the invasions were concentrated in the Ramallah and al-Biereh Governorate, in central West Bank.

In its press release, the soldiers abducted seven Palestinians in the Ramallah and al-Biereh, and identified them as Salim Rassem Rimawi, from Beit Rima village, Hussam Yousef Barghouthi, from Kafr Ein village, Wael Ata and Taha Hussein Barghouthi, from Deir Abu Mashal village, as well as Mifleh Abdul-Ghafer from Deir al-Sudan village.

It is worth mentioning that Salim is the brother of Tamer Rimawi, a political prisoner serving a life term in Israeli prisons.

In Jenin, in northern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Mofid Fathi Za’rour and Jarrah Abdullah Hantouli, from their homes in Sielet ath-Thaher, south of Jenin.

In addition, the soldiers abducted Emad Khader Shehada, 23, from the Ektaba area, in Tulkarem, also in northern West Bank.

Furthermore, the soldiers abducted Ahmad Jaber from his home in Silwan town, in occupied East Jerusalem.

Israeli Soldiers Injure Many Detainees In Ofer Prison
Picture
Israeli soldiers injured, late on Tuesday at night, many Palestinian political prisoners in Ofer prison, which is built on Palestinian lands west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, in addition to forcing one detainee in solitary confinement.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported that dozens of soldiers invaded the rooms of the detainees, and completely closed several sections in the prison, while mainly focusing their offensive in sections 21 and 22.

The PPS added that the soldiers caused many detainees to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, in addition to forcing one in solitary confinement.

The attack comes just one day after the soldiers, including K9 units invaded the detainee’s rooms in Section 16 of the prison, and assaulted many detainees, in addition to searching them.

The soldiers also transferred one detainee, identified as Rami Fasayel, to another detention facility.

The detainees have been demanding the army to remove many political prisoners from solitary confinement and send them back to their rooms. However, their demands were met with rejection and violence by the soldiers.

The PPS warned that the Israeli army is escalating its violations against the detainees, and constantly targets their basic rights, it also added that the conditions in Israeli prisons are seriously troubling as they are compounded now by the threats of Covid19, especially after a detainee, identified as Kamal Abu Wa’ar, tested positive for the virus.

It also said that the Israeli Prison Service has recently announced that many soldiers and officers are infected with the virus, and dozens have been placed in quarantine.

The PPS called on the International Community to intervene and secure the release of all imprisoned children, women, the elderly, and those who are sick, including cancer patients as well as all those who have other serious health conditions.

It is worth mentioning that more than 1000 Palestinians, including many children, are imprisoned in Ofer.

On June 30, 2020, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society has reported that the number of Palestinian detainees currently held by Israel is 4700, including 41 women and 160 children. This number includes about 365 Palestinians held under the arbitrary Administrative Detention orders without charges or trial.

Since the beginning of this year until June 30th, Israel soldiers abducted 2020 Palestinians, including 304 children and 70 women, while Israeli military courts issued 656 administrative detention orders.
