The Israeli occupation army on Friday continued to completely beleaguer, for the second day, about 120,000 Palestinian citizens in Yatta town, south of al-Khalil city.
According to municipal chief of the town Mousa Makhamreh, all the entrances and roads to the town had been blocked since Thursday with mounds of dirt and rocks.
"The closure of the town's entrances with dirt mounds would make things more difficult … If they were closed with military barriers, there would be a possible chance for negotiation for emergency cases such as the transport of patients," Makhamreh stated in press remarks on Friday.
He said that the Israeli occupation forces had carried out several raids on homes and arrests over the past two days in the town. Four Israelis were killed and several others were wounded last Wednesday when two residents of the southern West Bank town of Yatta carried out a shooting attack in a popular cafe in Tel Aviv.
On Thursday, the Israeli government started implementing sweeping measures to beef up security and restrict movement of Palestinians in what observers say is mass punishment. Within hours of the attack, the Israeli authorities revoked travel permits issued for 83,000 Palestinians from both the West Bank and Gaza Strip for the holy month of Ramadan and embarked on sealing off Yatta.

Hamas Movement condemned the Israeli overnight mass arrest campaign across occupied West Bank, saying that it will not achieve its aims.
Such a campaign will never succeed to achieve its aims. It will only strengthen our people, the Movement said.
The Palestinian resistance group expressed dissatisfaction with PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s recent statement denouncing Tel Aviv anti-occupation attack.
"Israel's continued crimes and PA security coordination will not prevent our people from resisting Israeli forces and settlers’ crimes", the Movement added. Palestinian towns and cities in the occupied West Bank had witnessed at dawn Friday a mass raid and arrest campaign shortly after Israeli war minister declared a complete cordon on the West Bank.
On the other hand, Hamas Movement strongly denounced the "heinous" attack against the oldest-serving Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jails Nael Barghouthi’ house.
The Movement slammed the PA security forces’ failure in providing protection for Barghouthi’s house especially that it was attacked more than once by Israeli settlers. The Movement declared its total support for Nael Barghouthi. A group of extremist settlers attacked last night Barghouthi’s house in Ramallah and tried to set it on fire.

On the evening of June 5th, 2016, 49 years into the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, Jewish organizations and individuals worldwide speak out in support of the right of Palestinians to non-violently resist Israel’s illegal and inhumane occupation.
In a petition sent to numerous national parliaments and European Union institutions, the undersigned groups call for all international bodies “to use all their available means of diplomacy and power to compel the Israeli government to immediately halt its intimidation campaign against Omar Barghouti and the Palestinian-led BDS Movement”.
Appalled by the state-led bullying against non-violent resistance, the undersigned “wish to underscore a basic truth which seems to escape the current Israeli administration and its apologists: international citizens’ boycotts against ongoing abuse of international law are a legally-protected and fundamental civil right.
Civil boycotts are a key means of non-violent protest. They cannot, precisely, be interdicted, made illegal or punishable.”
So far, signatories of the petition include: Jewish peace organizations from the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy; as well as a hundred distinguished Jewish activists, such as Noam Chomsky, co-founder of Code Pink Medea Benjamin, former South African government minister Ronnie Kasrils, former Israeli human-rights lawyerFelicia Langer, the Israeli filmmaker Eyal Sivan and laureate of the Sakharov Prize for Human Rights Nurit Peled-Elhanan.
