Israeli Troops Abduct Three Palestinian Youths in the West Bank
Israeli soldiers abducted, on Sunday morning, two Palestinian youths from the internationally-recognized occupied East Jerusalem, in the southern West Bank.
Official Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, reported that Israeli forces broke into the homes of Belal Abu Alzaki and Qassam Halabiya, in Abu Dis town, east of Jerusalem.
WAFA said that the two youths were abducted and taken to an unknown destination.

Israeli forces have intensified their invasion and abduction operations, across the occupied West Bank, particularly in East Jerusalem.
Noteworthy, last week, many residents of Abu Dis were injured by army fire of rubber-coated steel bullets and tear-gas, when they protested the military invasion of their neighborhood.
Israel occupied East Jerusalem in 1967, and more than 100,000 Palestinians currently reside there, surrounded by illegal settlement blocks.
Despite international law and United Nations resolutions, the current US administration declared the entire East and West Jerusalem, as the capital of Israel.
United Nations resolution 242, of 1967 stated that Israel must immediately withdraw from East Jerusalem, an occupied Palestinian territory.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states that it is forbidden for the occupier to transfer its population onto the land which it occupies.

At least seven Palestinians were injured when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at protesting citizens in Atouf village in the northern Jordan Valley.
Abdullah Besharat, head of Atouf’s village council, said that a Palestinian citizen suffered a rubber bullet injury, while six others choked on tear gas during the attack.
Besharat said that the confrontations flared up when the IOF stopped and detained dozens of Palestinians, who were heading to Bardala village to take part in a popular conference against the annexation, at al-Hamra and Tayasir checkpoints.

Israeli soldiers abducted, on Friday evening, two young Palestinian men at a military roadblock near Jenin, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers stopped and searched many Palestinian cars at Barta’a military roadblock, southwest of Jenin, and interrogated several Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.
They added that the soldiers also abducted two young men, identified as Kamal Ahmad Lahlouh and Amer Nashat Mer’ey, before moving them to a nearby military base.

A Palestinian man was detained by Israeli security guards, on Saturday, north of Jerusalem, at the Qalandia terminal, the Jerusalem Post reported.
Israel Police claimed that the “knife-wielding” Palestinian man elicited the suspicion of the security forces.
During the arrest, the Jerusalem Post further noted that two security guards were lightly injured.
Arabic daily, Ma’an News reported that two Palestinian young men were abducted at the military roadblock, and quoted Israeli media which alleged that the two “attempted to carry out a stabbing attack.”
It added that the military closed the roadblock, blocking Palestinians attempting to travel between the central West Bank city of Ramallah and southern West Bank city of East Jerusalem.
The Palestinian WAFA News Agency quoted witnesses as stating that only one Palestinian man was abducted, and that it was suspected that the young man was carrying a knife.
WAFA further noted that this claim could not be immediately verified.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, border guards stopped the two young men Palestinians who provoked the guards’ suspicions, claiming that a knife was found on one of them, suspects were taken into custody.
The Quds News Network identified the young man as, Ahmad Wahdan, from Qalandia refugee camp in East Jerusalem, and stated that he was injured.
The Palestinian Information Centre reported that two Israeli soldiers were slightly injured while detaining the young man, who also sustained injuries, as he was said to have been brutally subdued.
It further quoted Israel’s Channel 13 which stated that the wounds sustained by the soldiers were not from the knife.
Within this context, last week, Ahmad Erekat, 26, was shot several times by Israeli forces at the container military roadblock between Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the southern occupied West Bank. The young man was denied any medical attention, and slowly lost his life on the pavement.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor (Euro-Med) released a statement, on Friday, condemning the Israeli occupation’s practices against the Palestinian people.
“It’s alarming that for Israeli soldiers, using lethal violence is the first resort against Palestinians,” Dr. Ramy Abdu, Euro-Med Monitor Chairman asserted, “we’re talking here about an apparatus in which Israeli soldiers determine the decisive guilt of Palestinian civilians in the matter of seconds and lethally execute judgment.”

A report by the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) on Thursday said that 95% of Palestinian prisoners are subjected to one sort or another of torture starting from their time of arrest.
The statement was released by the PPS ahead of the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture to be marked on June 26.
“Israel adopts multiple methods to torture detainees physically and psychologically, through a system of comprehensive violence,” it said.
“Detainees are subjected to sleep deprivation through continuous interrogation sessions for up to 20 hours […] preventing blood circulation from reaching their hands, covering their head with a dirty bag, as well as continuous, beating, slapping, kicking, verbal abuse and intentional humiliation,” the statement added.
The Israeli authorities also threaten the detainees with arrest, sexual abuse and killing of their family members, and demolishing of their homes.
The number of Palestinians in Israeli prisons currently stands at around 5,000 detainees.

Israeli forces dawn Friday detained three Palestinians from the West Bank districts of Nablus and Hebron, said local sources.
The sources confirmed that Israeli military vehicles raided Burin town, south of Nablus, where soldiers rounded up a former prisoner and ransacked several houses, turning them upside down.
Israeli troops conducted a raid into Jamma'in town, southwest of Nablus, where they took photos for several old houses, as confirmed by member of the municipal council Mohammad Taher.
Meanwhile, an Israeli military raid was carried out in Burqa village, north of Nablus, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.
In Hebron district, soldiers stopped a Palestinian driving his vehicle near the colonial settlement bloc of Gush Etzion and detained him. The detainee was identified as a resident of Hebron city.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians -- including numerous women and children -- are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities.
Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
