Ofer prison
Three Palestinians held in Ofer prison have been on hunger strike for two days in protest of administrative detention, a human rights society reported on Sunday. Director of the Legal Unit at the Prisoner’ Club society Jawad Boulos identified in a press statement the hunger strikers as Ayman Tubeisheh Arif Harbiyat, and Ahmed Abu Ras.
Boulos expected the number of detainees on hunger strike to increase “given the Israeli intransigence on keeping them under custody without charge or trial, and the deteriorating health of five prisoners on hunger strike at Israeli civilian hospitals,”
The society named the hunger-striking detainees as Muammar Banat, Waheed Abu Maria, Akram al-Fusaisi, Ameer Shammas, and Kefah Hattab.
The legal officer quoted the three detainees as saying that they appreciate all supporting bodies of ther cause, but feel the popular campaigning is still less than expected, which leaves an adverse impact on their morale.

An Israeli court on Friday sentenced a Bedouin man from Tel as-Sabi near Beersheba to a year in prison after he was convicted of giving a ride to a Palestinian who later set an explosive device in an Israeli bus.
Defendant Mahmoud Abu Anza was sentenced to a year in prison and three months under probation as part of a plea bargain despite the fact that the District Attorney was convinced that Abu Anza was unaware that the man he picked up was carrying an explosive device.
In addition, the private car that the defendant was driving when he picked the man upwas confiscated.
Mahmoud Abu Anza picked up Sami al-Hreimi on Dec. 22, 2013. He dropped al-Hreimi off in Jaffa, and from there al-Hreimi boarded bus number 240 to Bat Yam, according to Israeli news site Ynet.
He left an explosive device in the bus before getting off with the plan to remotely detonate it. Passengers noticed the bag, however, and the bus was successfully evacuated before the explosive was detonated.
Israeli sources said that al-Hreimi brought the two-kilogram explosive device into Israel through an open area in Israel's separation wall in the south Hebron Hills. He confessed during interrogation that he used to work in a restaurant in Jaffa.
He also told interrogators that he was given a ride by a Bedouin man who drove him to central Israel without being aware that he was carrying an explosive device.

Among the detainees were four young men from Bethlehem in the southern West Bank affiliated to the Islamic Jihad movement including Shehadah al-Tamari, Hamdi al-Tamari and Sami al-Hreimi himself.
