The health situation of the Palestinian prisoner Ibrahim Jamal, from Aroub refugee camp in al-Khalil, has seriously deteriorated after he lost his sight and ability to speak, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said.
In a statement issued Sunday evening, the PPS pointed out that its lawyer managed to visit Jamal who came to the visiting room “as a walking dead body” accompanied by the prisoner Muamar Shahrur as he is no longer able to walk by himself.
Shahrur pointed out that Jamal lost his sight and ability to speak after hitting his head on the end of the iron bed in the room. Few days later, he lost his hearing.
Head of PPS Amjad Al-Najjar stressed the urgent need to release Jamal especially that he is already suffering from an incurable disease.
Al-Najjar held the Israeli occupation authorities full responsibility for the prisoner's life.
Jamal, a father of six children, was detained on September 17 last year.

Israeli authorities decided to deport four solidarity activists, from the France-Palestine Solidarity Association, arrested while joining the people of Bil'in in their weekly demonstration against the occupation and apartheid wall, on Friday.
International supporters have been joining the Bil'in demonstration for over 10 years now. However, it's the first time for the French delegation, who joined last Friday's demonstration after listening to a presentation by the Popular Committee regarding the colonial oppression and resistance efforts of the village.
Soon after, the demonstration took off from the center of the village, heading to the wall. Dozens of participants suffered from tear gas inhalation during the march after the Israeli forces attacked them, just before they arrived to the area near the wall. The soldiers used jeeps to chase demonstrators towards the village, firing tear gas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets.
Palestinians, international and Israeli solidarity activists raised Palestinian flags and chanted slogans calling for the demolition of the wall, freedom for Palestine and for prisoners in Israeli jails.
Israeli soldiers who disapproved of the French activists' participation in the demonstration decided to arrest them and, later, made a decision to deport them, putting their names on the 'black list', according to Israeli sources.
Therefore, the four activists cannot visit Palestine again, any time soon.

Since the Israeli occupation of Gaza Strip and the West Bank in 1967, over 15,000 Palestinian women have been arrested by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) including minors, moms, students, and lawmakers, updated statistics revealed.
The statistics showed that 1200 females were taken prisoners since the second Palestinian Intifada (uprising) in 2000.
Today, 20 Palestinian females are held in HaSharon prison in very difficult detention conditions.
The longest serving Palestinian women prisoner is Lena Al-Jarboni who is serving a 17-year sentence since 2002. Lena was born in 1974 to a Palestinian family near Acre in 1948 Palestine.
The youngest female detainee is the 16-year-old Dima Sawahra, from Jabal al-Mukaber in occupied Jerusalem, a school student who was kidnapped on March 1, 2014 and sentenced to 18 months.
As the world marks International Women's Day, Palestinian women are still subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment, torture, and psychological abuse throughout the process of their detainment.
They have to endure weeks, sometimes months, of torture at one of Israel's interrogation centers to extract confessions from them before being transferred to central prisons.
At HaSharon prison, Palestinian women prisoners suffer from beatings, insults, threats, sexually explicit harassment and sexual violence, and humiliation at the hands of Israeli guards. Often they are forced to undergo degrading body searches during the middle of the night for no reason other an as a punitive measure.

A PIC correspondent quoted eye-witnesses as reporting that the Israeli occupation soldiers targeted the Palestinian civilian youths with randomly-shot volleys of tear gas and rubber bullets.
By-standers at the scene said clashes boiled over after a horde of Israeli settlers broke into al-Tur neighborhood in Occupied Jerusalem.
In another development, members of the al-Aqsa supervision staff managed to foil a desecration break-in planned by a disguised female Israeli settler.
In a separate incident, the Israeli occupation police apprehended the Jerusalemite cameraman Mustapha al-Kharouf from the yards of holy al-Aqsa Mosque and transferred him to a nearby detention center pending investigation. The photojournalist was released a few hours later.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) afternoon Saturday rounded up two Palestinians near the border fence separating blockaded Gaza from 1948 Occupied Palestine.
Eye-witnesses said the IOF soldiers deployed near Gaza borders kidnapped the two youngsters as they tried to creep through the border fence on their way to 1948 Occupied Palestine.
Earlier over the past couple of weeks the IOF claimed the apprehension of eight Palestinian citizens as they attempted to cross the security fence.
Infiltrations into Israel have been on the rise due to the high unemployment and poverty rates rocking the blockaded coastal enclave.

As the Palestinian people mark March 8th, International Woman’s Day, the Palestinian Committee on Detainees issued a statement that Israel is still holding captive twenty Palestinian women, including one who has been held for eighteen years, and seven who have brothers or husbands who are also imprisoned by Israel.
The Palestinian Commission of Detainees & Ex-Detainees Affairs has reported that detainee Lina Jarbouni, 40, from ‘Arraba al-Batouf in the Galilee has been held by Israel for the thirteenth consecutive year.
She was kidnapped by the army on April 18, 2002, and was sentenced to 17 years for “aiding Palestinian fighters.”

The Head of the Census Department of the Palestinian Committee of Detainees, and a member of its follow-up committee in the Gaza Strip, Abdul-Nasser Ferwana said Palestinian women present a significant honorable role in the Palestinian struggle, as they are remarkable mothers, teachers, workers, protectors, political and revolutionary symbols, artists and media figures.
“They are leaders, steadfast detainees, patient liberators who spent months and years behind bars,” he said, “They have been tortured and imprisoned just like Palestinian men are; subject to the same physical and psychological torture, held in cells that are not fit for human use.”
The official also stated that the youngest female detainee is Dima Sawahra, 16, from Jabal al-Mokabber in occupied Jerusalem, a school student who was kidnapped on March 1, 2014, and was sentenced to 18 months.
The Detainees’ Committee said seven of the detained women have husbands, and brothers, who are also imprisoned by Israel. They have been identified as:

7. Donya Wakid from Tulkarem; her brother Jamal, and her fiancé Mohammad Waked.
The Detainees’ Committee said the Israeli Prison Administration does not allow the detained women to visit with their imprisoned husbands and siblings, as part of ongoing Israeli violations of their rights.
The detained women complain of very bad treatment, especially during their transfer to courts, as they are frequently beaten and humiliated, while many point out the lack of proper medical treatment in addition to being confined with Israeli women who are being held on criminal charges, who repeatedly assault them.
