Dozens of Palestinian civilians sustained wounds and others were kidnapped during a round of assaults launched by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) across the West Bank city of Jenin on Thursday morning.
Locals said a flock of over 30 Israeli military jeeps stormed the Jenin refugee camp at the crack of dawn and cordoned off the main streets and alleys to the city moments before they suddenly broke into a number of family homes and ransacked them.
The IOF troops reportedly rounded up the Palestinian citizen Bassem Abu Zina after having interrogated him at the scene.
The assault culminated in the apprehension of the Palestinian activist Mustafa Shata by the IOF soldiers who broke into his house and scoured it.
The IOF troops further climbed over the rooftops of civilian family homes, generating a state of panic among children and women.
The IOF further stormed Jenin’s towns of Yabad and Zababda and rummaged through a number of Palestinian houses under the pretext of chasing down wanted Palestinians.
Sources based in Berkin village said similar assaults have been carried out in the town, where the invading IOF troops stopped Palestinian vehicles and provocatively inspected passengers’ IDs.
A series of ambushes has been set up after the Israeli squads moved into Jenin’s town of Arraba.
Meanwhile, scores of Palestinian civilians choked on tear gas after the IOF broke into the Fahma secondary school, to the south of Jenin, and came to blows with Palestinian youths.
Eye-witnesses said a drove of Israeli army jeeps blocked the main entrance to the Fahma town via a makeshift roadblock and targeted a group of civilians with randomly-shot volleys of gunfire and tear gas.
The IOF troops are still deployed at Jenin city’s junctions and entryways in the morning hours.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan (Silwanic) in occupied East Jerusalem, said Israeli extremists broke into, and occupied, a residential building inhabited by the al-Malhi family, and two lands in Wadi Hilweh.
Silwanic said the extremists forged the properties' deeds; an issue that enabled the Elad settlement group to invade the building and occupy it. The property in question has four apartments.
The center added that the settlers, and their armed guards changed the locks on all doors, blockaded the windows, while the Police prevented the residents from entering the area, leading to clashes.
The Police then attacked a child, identified as Mohammad al-Malhi, 13, and placed him in one of their vehicles while beating him, before some residents managed to secure his release.
Silwanic said that, in 2007, the Elad group attempted to occupy the building, composed of four apartments and an 800-Meter land, but the family headed to court and managed to retrieve its property.
Elad claimed that the Malhi family was living in a property that belongs to the Absentee Property Department. The al-‘Abbasi family, that has been living abroad since many years, owns the building.
Silwanic said the District Court in Jerusalem, and the Central Court, previously affirmed the al-Malhi family has all legal document to inhabit the property. The ruling came after a five-year legal process.
The al-Malhi family said that, after the court ruling was made, one of its members forged some documents, an issue that made it easy for Elad to occupy the property.
The family added that the Israeli police handed, on Tuesday evening, their son Montaser, 18 years of age, an order for interrogation, and when they accompanied the child, on Wednesday morning, they were all detained while the settlers occupied the building.
The police also detained Seraj al-Malhi, 12, and Samah al-Malhi, who were alone in the building during the time of the attack.
In addition, Israeli extremists accompanied by dozens of soldiers, invaded and occupied, a Palestinian land belonging to the al-‘Abbasi family in Wadi Hilweh.
The 500 square/meter land is used as a playground for Palestinian children in the area.
They also occupied a 1200 square/meter land belonging to Sha’ban family, and started bulldozing it before placing a mobile home, in preparation to establish a new outpost.

Israeli occupation forces, Tuesday afternoon, attacked a popular demonstration that surfaced around the story of the Jerusalem Gate protest camp, on the day of Israeli Knesset elections.
PNN reports that hundreds of citizens and supporters, including foreigners and even Israelis, have participated in the march toward the Gate.
Israeli forces attacked demonstrators in a brutal way, detained at least seven activists, including the popular struggle activist, Yousef Sharqawi and Ahmed Odeh, both from Bethlehem, in addition to two students from Al-Quds University and two Israeli activists.
Munther Ameera, head of the higher coordination committee against the wall and settlements in the West Bank said that today's demonstration was coordinated between the popular struggle committee and the Student Shabiba (youth)movement which follows the PLO, and the student senate of the university.
Ameera added that the Israeli detention of the activists is yet another clue to the real face of the Israeli state and its savage oppressive military, regardless of the authorities.
The village was installed for the first in February, in the Khallet ar-Raheb area, east of Abu Dis, to protest Israel’s decision to displace and relocate the Bedouin communities so that it can continue its construction and expansion of its illegal colonies.
Activists said the "plan to displace Bedouins is a demographic bomb that Israel is using to empty Palestinian lands of its original residents, steal their properties, and the rights to return to the original villages that they were displaced from."
Palestinian Bedouins in the West Bank are largely composed of refugees of Israel's 1948 ethnic cleansing of 750,000 Palestinians, with the majority having fled the Negev Desert while the few who remained -- about 10 percent of the total Bedouin population -- were confined to reservations.
The majority of Bedouins in Israel and the West Bank live a relatively settled but still sometimes semi-nomadic lifestyle, residing in permanent villages but pasturing livestock in adjacent areas.
Furthermore, Israeli restrictions on movement -- in order to build Jewish settlements on Palestinian lands previously used by Bedouins or through the construction of the Separation Wall to cut through the West Bank -- have severely curtailed Bedouins' traditional nomadism.
