Israeli occupation police on Tuesday afternoon arrested a Palestinian youth in Jerusalem for allegedly possessing a knife and planning a stabbing attack.
Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli police arrested a Palestinian youth after searching him near Bab al-Sahera area in the Old City of Jerusalem and transferred him to a nearby detention center. video
They later closed off the Old City, preventing people from entering or leaving the area.
Israeli police later claimed that a Palestinian arrived at a checkpoint in the Old City and attempted to stab police officers before he was detained. No injuries were reported.

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Sunday extended the administrative detention of Palestinian university student Shada Hasan, 20, for the second consecutive time.
According to Wa’ed Society for Detainees and Ex-Detainees, the IOA renewed the detention of Shada, from Ramallah city, for another three months administratively, with no trial or indictment.

The prisoner’s mother expressed her belief that her daughter was detained administratively as part of Israeli efforts to prevent Birzeit University students from participating in or carrying out any national activity.

One of those prisoners is 17-year-old Afnan Abu Sneineh from al-Khalil province.
According to Israeli human rights group B’Tselem, “administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge, alleging that a person plans to commit a future offense. It has no time limit, and the evidence on which it is based is not disclosed.
Israel employs this measure extensively and routinely, and has used it to hold thousands of Palestinians for lengthy periods of time.”

The youth were identified as: Munawar Abdel Rahman Bani Shamsa, the secretary of the Fatah movement in the area of the Martyrs of Beita, Raed Abdel Rahim Dawoud, and Ibrahim Mahmoud Dawood, Hussein Arsan Dawood, Hussein Mahmoud Dawood, Jihad Fayez Hamayel, Hamdan Fayez Hamayel and Saif Dhaif Allah Hamayel .
The sources added that the Israeli forces stormed the village of Awarta in the south, and abducted the released captive and researcher, Abd al-Salam Awwad. They also raided the village of Osreen and abducted the freed prisoner Samer Hamdi Muflih, after raiding and searching their homes .
In addition, Israeli soldiers abducted the freed prisoner Ali Shawahneh (40 years), after storming his house and searching it , in the Qalqilia District.

After 20 months of arbitrary detention, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday evening released Palestinian fisherman Hasan Bakr, a resident of Gaza City.
According to Asra Media Office, fisherman Bakr had been kidnaped by Israeli naval forces in August 2018 when he was with four fishermen in Gaza waters.
At the time, the naval forces detained all the fishermen for a while but decided to take Bakr prisoner and let the others go.

Israeli forces today detained at least 15 Palestinians in multiple raids across the West Bank, said local and security sources.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday arrested a Palestinian ex-detainee near Beit Ummar town north of the West Bank city of al-Khalil.
Local sources said that the IOF arrested Moayyad Ekhleil, 28, on a road on his way back to Beit Ummar from Qalqilya.

Marking International Women’s Day, which coincides tomorrow, the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said today that there are 43 Palestinian women incarcerated in Israel for resisting the Israeli occupation of their land.
It said 27 of the women have been sentenced to various terms, the highest is 16 years for Shurouq Dwayat, from occupied East Jerusalem, and Shatilla Abu Ayyad, from inside Israel.
It said that 16 of the women prisoners are mothers, four held in administrative detention for various period without charge or trial and based on secret evidence, and eight were shot and wounded by soldiers before they were detained.
The PPS said one of wounded women is Isra Jaabis, 35, a mother of one child from Jerusalem who was arrested in October 2015 after a gas cylinder exploded in her car near an Israeli army checkpoint that caused her 60% burns on her body, mutilation, and amputation of eight fingers. She was also sentenced to 11 years in prison.
The PPS said Israel detained more than 16,000 Palestinian women since its occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip in June 1967.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Friday kidnapped five students affiliated with the Islamic Bloc, the student branch of Hamas movement, at Birzeit University in Ramallah.
Local sources said that the IOF raided a number of student dormitories in Ramallah, searched them and arrested five students.
The detainees are Ahmad Farah, Mohammed Naser, Osaid Qaddumi, Barakat Raed and Rayyan Kharboush, and all of them are Islamic Bloc activists at Birzeit University.
