Palestinian human rights activists afternoon Thursday launched calls for boycotting Israeli courts in an attempt to urge the Israeli occupation to cease its arbitrary administrative detention, with neither charge nor trial, of Palestinian detainees.
The Palestinian Committee of Detainees and Ex-detainees launched, in a press conference in Ramallah, distress signals over the alarming situation of Palestinian detainees in the Israeli occupation jails.
Speakers at the conference stressed the need to appeal to the International Criminal Court in an effort to sue the Israeli occupation authorities for the crimes committed against Palestinian captives.
Head of the committee, Issa Qaraqe, spoke up against the serious violations of the rights of Palestinian sick detainees and the preplanned medical negligence they have been subjected to at Israeli prisons.
He warned of a projected upsurge in the number of victims of Israeli mistreatment and medical neglect especially that scores of detainees have increasingly been diagnosed with deadly diseases.
Head of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society Qadoura Fares called for the need to boycott Israeli military courts in light of the torture and biased prejudgments issued, on groundless accounts, against Palestinian detainees.
He denounced the arbitrary visit-bans often slapped by the Israeli prison authorities on the detainees and their families.
“What has been going on today is the reverberation of the calls launched by the extremist right-wing government to murder Palestinian prisoners,” he said.
For his part, Khaled Quzmar, general director of the Defense for Children-Palestine briefed the conferees on the policies of psycho-physical torture perpetrated by the Israeli jailers against Palestinian children and minors.
He said an average of 1,000 Palestinian children are being annually detained by the Israeli occupation, particularly, but not exclusively, in Occupied Jerusalem.

The Ofer Military Court yesterday accepted the prosecution's appeal against the court's earlier decision to release Palestinian Member of Parliament Khalida Jarrar, and sentenced her to prison until the end of the proceedings, based on secret evidence.
Jarrar's lawyer, Mahmoud Hassan, told Arab48 that "the court's decision is unconstitutional and illegal because it is based on secret material presented by the prosecution, and we could not see this material or know anything about it."
Hassan added that the court's decision is unjust and illegal, and that the occupation is cracking down on Jarrar because of her support for prisoners and her stance on Palestinian pursuit of membership of the International Criminal Court. Describing the court's decision as "retaliation".
Hassan said to uphold the law, the court should have informed the defence of the evidence on which it based its decision.

Activists confronted participants in the so-called "Jerusalem Hug" march, in which Palestinian and Israelis participated in Jerusalem, on Thursday.
Palestinians from Jerusalem gathered near Damascus Gate, where the march took place, and started telling Palestinian participants in the event that it had "normalization" goals.
There were minor scuffles and exchanges of swearing between the two sides.
Head of Fateh's Jerusalem youth council Ahmad al-Ghoul told Ma'an News Agency that Palestinian participants in the march -- from the West Bank cities of Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus, and Tulkarem -- were deceived into joining it by luring them with permits to enter Jerusalem.
Al-Ghoul said that the organization claimed that the march was a "humanitarian project for people in the West Bank" and provided them with permits and the necessary transportation without showing them the "normalization" goals of the visit.
He added that such organizations equate the "victim and the executioner" and show the world a picture of Palestinians and Israelis living in peace and love, spending millions of shekels in the process.
Israeli police detained Mahdi Abu Sbeih and Shadi al-Labban, who were trying to stop the march.

He took the news very badly and needed medical attention," Harari said.
"We were able to locate three family members who worked together at a construction site, who became suspects, but we ruled out the suspicions against two of them of being involved in the death, and they are only being accused of illegal stay."

Family of the hunger-striking detainee Khader Adnan, starving since 23 days in protest at being held administratively, with neither charge nor trial, at Israeli jails, sounded alarm bells over the sharp deterioration in the detainee’s health status.
Adnan’s family said in a statement their son, isolated in the solitary lock-downs of criminal prisoners in al-Ramla jail, came out to meet his lawyer on a wheelchair after his physical condition has remarkably gone down due to the hunger-strike he has initiated since 23 uninterrupted days.
The Israeli prison authorities stipulated that Adnan meets his lawyer or any human rights delegate only shackled hand and feet, with no sympathy, whatsoever, for his exacerbated health status.
Such restrictions make part of a larger psycho-physical torture tactic aimed at dashing the detainee’s hopes, forcing him to throw in the towel, and thwarting his ongoing “battle of empty of stomach,” the family added.
Adnan’s relatives also raised concerns that the prisoner’s case would take a turn for the worse due to Israeli preplanned camouflage of latest updates on his situation.
The statement urged human rights institutions to pay an urgent visit to Adnan and the other Palestinian sick detainees so as to keep tabs on the current state of affairs and urge the Israeli occupation to unshackle the detainees before it is too late.
“Our son Adnan is engaged in a personal fight. He does not long for food as long as he does freedom, honor, and dignity,” they said. “His starved stomach speaks up for all the detainees held at the Israeli occupation prisons.”
“We are quite aware that this is never an easy battle. Perseverance is just harder than triumph itself,” the added.
Earlier a letter leaked from jail by prisoner Adnan read: “Allah has created us free. Either we live so or else we’d better die.”

37-year-old Palestinian detainee Khader Adnan Musa has been on an open-ended hunger-strike for the 23rd day running in protest at being held administratively, with neither charge nor trial, at the Israeli occupation jails.
Adnan was arrested near Jenin in July during an Israeli arrest campaign across the West Bank. He is one of many former prisoners re-arrested and incarcerated for unclear reasons.

Palestinian prisoner Hazem Meslemani has complained that his jailers in Megiddo prison persistently deprive him of seeing his family during visit times.
20-years-old Meslemani said in a leaked letter that Megiddo jailers recently detained his family members for two hours in the visit area without allowing them to see him.
He added that the jailers still ban his sister Bisan, 18, from visiting him for security claims.
