Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) called on the Palestinian resistance to hasten the implementation of a new prisoner swap deal in order to end the suffering of Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.
Dr. Ahmad Bahar, the PLC Deputy Speaker, on Monday called on the Palestinian resistance factions to accomplish a new deal such as Wafaa al-Ahrar which was signed in October, 2010 between Hamas and Israel.
This came in the weekly solidarity sit-in with the Palestinian captives in front of the Red Cross headquarter in Gaza with the participation of PLC MPs and factions’ leaders.
Bahar pointed out that Israel holds 250 Palestinian minors, which is contrary to all international laws. He also condemned the Israeli policy of deliberate medical negligence against the Palestinian detainees inside Israeli jails.
He charged the Israeli Occupation Authority (IOA) with full responsibility for the lives of the sick prisoner MP Nayif al-Rujoub and captive Khader Adnan who is on hunger strike.
The PLC Deputy Speaker Bahar stressed that kidnapping the PLC MPs breeches the parliament immunity, calling for MPs in the world to intervene to pressure the IOA in order to release Palestinian deputies from Israeli prisons.
For his part, Mohammad al-Hindi, member of the political bureau of Islamic Jihad, charged the international human rights organizations of being “false witnesses” on the Israeli crimes.
He said, in a speech on behalf of the Palestinian factions in the sit-in, that prisoner Khader Adnan has been on hunger strike for the 22nd day in a row to protest against administrative detention without trial or charge.
The IOA is detaining about 7,000 Palestinian prisoners distributed to 25 jails and detention centers. The number includes 1500 sick captives in need for urgent surgeries, hundreds of women and minors, 12 MPs and 30 prisoners who spent more than 20 years in Israeli jails.

The Israeli military court in Ofer has sentenced Aziz Dweik, the speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) to 12 months and a fine estimated at 6,000 shekels.
Dr. Aziz Dweik has been detained in Israeli jails since June 16, 2014. He was arrested in an Israeli detention campaign against dozens of the PLC MPs, ex-detainees and other activists in the West Bank.
Ahrar Center for Prisoners and Human Rights condemned the ruling and called for releasing Dweik along with all other MPs.
The center revealed that the Israeli Occupation Authority (IOA) deliberately targets the Palestinian members of the parliament after Hamas had won the elections in 2006. Since then, the IOA has been tightening the noose on the MPs and forbidding them from doing their duties toward the Palestinian people.
Israel is detaining 12 Palestinian MPs including the PLC speaker Aziz Dweik, Hassan Yusuf, Mohammad al-Natsheh, Husni al-Bourini, Mohammad Bader, Azzam Salhab, Riyad Raddad, Nayif al-Rujoub, Khalil al-Rabi in addition to Ahmad Saadat, Marwan al-Barghouti and Khaledah Jarrar.

Israeli forces use extreme and brutal methods to force confessions out of Palestinian detainees for "crimes against Israel" such as stone-throwing.
The head of the Palestinian Authority prisoners' affairs committee, Issa Qarage, met with former detainee Noor Muhammad Hilmi Hamamrah, age 15, while visiting prisoners' families in the northern West Bank village of Qusin in the Nablus district.
Hamamrah explained to Qarage that while he was detained in Israel's Etzion detention center, interrogators forced his mouth open and began to pry his braces off of his teeth. The interrogator threatened to rip out all of Hamamrah's teeth if he did not confess to throwing stones at Israeli cars.
This is not the first or last of the countless accounts of disturbing and violent treatment of Palestinian detainees in Israeli detention centers. A UN report from 2013 says that the abuse of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons is "widespread, systematic and institutionalized." The report also said that there was evidence of "cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment" in prisons.
Information gathered from Ma'an and the UN report on Palestinian prisoners.

A number of Palestinians, including minors, were nabbed on Sunday while others, including a 10-year-old girl, choked on tear gas in an arbitrary mass-abduction campaign launched by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) across the West Bank at predawn hours.
Sources based in the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem said the IOF summoned two Palestinian youths, from Beit Fajar town, for interrogation at the Etzion camp after having stormed their family homes before daybreak.
The same sources identified the two youngsters as Anwar Hussein Taqatqa and Abdul Rahman Salama Balu.
The IOF soldiers further ravaged Palestinian civilian homes in Bethlehem’s eastern town of Tekoa shortly before they rolled into the nearby Yabad town and nabbed the 14-year-old Amer Abdul Rahman Ba’jawi and the 16-year-old Sanad Khedr Masharqa.
Al-Khalil based sources, meanwhile, said dozens of Palestinian civilians choked on tear gas canisters heavily unleashed by the IOF during a raid in Beit Ummar town, to the north of the city.
The heavily-armed IOF troops also showered Palestinian homes with torrents of tear gas grenades. 10-year-old Rahaf Ali Awad and 60-year-old Meriam Abu Ayash sustained critical breathing disorders in the process due to heavy gas inhalation and were rushed to a local clinic for urgent treatment.
Earlier, afternoon Saturday, a state of panic overwhelmed Palestinian children and women after IOF patrols rolled into Tarqumiya, to the west of al-Khalil, in such a remarkably violent manner.

A press statement released by the PPS quoted a lawyer as reporting, following a visit he paid to the Ramla clinic, that the health status of Palestinian detainees has remarkably deteriorated due to the mistreatment and torture they have been made to endure at the hands of the Israeli wardens.
Earlier, some few days ago, Israeli special forces broke into the prison clinic and forced the inmates out of their cells on alleged accounts of routine searches.
25-year-old Palestinian detainee Shadi Dharaghma has launched a cry for help after his health conditions have sharply deteriorated due to the torture and mistreatment he has been subjected to since his arrest in August, the statement further pointed out.
Prisoner Dharaghma has been diagnosed with sore pains and critical injuries in his thighs and feet and with acute nephritis along with hemiplegia inflicted by Israeli bullet fire hitting his spine in 2007.
The statement further warned of the repercussions of Israeli bullet fire on the health of 35-year-old Ashraf Abu al-Huda, resulting in critical spine damages and neurological disorders.

The committee considered these calls a threatening danger on the holy mosque, where extremist groups will pilgrim collectively today and tomorrow. It also called on the Palestinians who can reach the mosque to be there and protect it from settler attacks.

The health condition of Palestinian prisoner Yousri al-Masri has reached a life-threatening stage and he could lose his life any moment, according to Muhjat al-Quds foundation.
The foundation said that prisoner Masri, as a result of his cancer condition, suffers from serious physical weakness, fainting spells, acute pains in the liver, stomach, and colon, a sharp rise in temperature and tachycardia.
It noted that despite the critical health condition of the prisoner, the Israeli prison doctors stopped to give him medication and refused his transfer to hospital at the pretext that his body became extremely weak and thus he would need a special ambulance instead of the jail vehicle.
It appealed to human rights groups to necessarily intervene to pressure the Israeli side to release prisoner Masri immediately.
