Israeli soldiers invaded, on Monday evening, Safa area in Beit Ummar town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and abducted five young Palestinian men. One Palestinian was abducted in Hebron city.
Mohammad Ayyad Awad, a media activist with the Popular Committee in Beit Ummar, said the soldiers abducted the five young men while they were trying to extinguish a fire in Palestinian lands, close to Gush Etzion colony and military base.
Awad stated that the soldiers chased the five young men, and abducted them; three of them have been identified as Ghazi Mohammad ‘Aadi, 35, Omar Mohammad Ekhlayyel, 28, and Jamal Nayef ‘Aadi. 25, from Beit Ummar, and two, who remained unidentified until the time of this report, are from Surif town.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested at dawn Monday 5 Palestinian citizens in a large-scale raid campaign launched in various parts of the West Bank.
A report by the Israeli army said that the IOF arrested 3 Palestinians who are allegedly wanted on charges of carrying out resistance activities against Israeli soldiers and settlers.
According to the report, two of the arrested Palestinians are from Nablus city while the third is from Tuqu' town to the west of Bethlehem.
The Israeli army said that its forces confiscated a vehicle in Tuqu' which, it claimed, was used by Palestinians to carry out attacks against Israeli targets.
Quds Press reported that the IOF stormed Tuqu' town, arrested Malek al-Amour, 17, and confiscated his father's vehicle after raiding and searching his family's house.
It added that the IOF handed Hazem al-Badin, 18, from Tuqu', an order to appear before the Israeli Intelligence in Gush Etzion settlement, south of Bethlehem, after raiding and searching his family's house.
According to local sources in al-Khalil, the IOF arrested Mohammed Za'aqiq, 22, after storming Beit Ummar town to the north of the city and searching his house and tampering with its contents. Za'aqiq was taken to Gush Etzion interrogation center, south of Bethlehem.

The Shatta prison administration released on Monday the hunger striking Jerusalemite prisoner Ali Zawahra, 22, from Sur Baher town after he served seven months and a half in Israeli jails.
The head of the committee of Jerusalemite prisoners' families, Amjad Abu Asab, said that Zawahra joined the open hunger strike on 17th April 2017 and was subjected to maltreatment and isolation many times.
Abu Asab, along with the member of the committee Alaa Haddad and a group of prisoners' families, visited Zawahra at al-Makassed Hospital to check on his health and to inquire about the conditions of the hunger strikers.
Abu Asab explained that Zawahra is suffering from pains in the stomach and the rib cage and that he cannot walk without the help of others, adding that the doctors have conducted the necessary medical examinations and decided that he should stay in the hospital.
He pointed out that Zawahra affirmed that the prisoners, who have been on hunger strike for 35 days, are facing difficult conditions, yet, Zawahra said, they are still steadfast and all they need is a greater popular support in order to shorten the duration of the hunger strike.
Zawahra was arrested on 8th July 2016 and charged with incitement through Facebook by the Israeli Public Prosecution. He spent 35 days in detention before being transferred to house arrest for three months and a half then turned himself in on 4th December 2016 to serve his sentence.
On the other hand, the Magistrates Court extended on Sunday the detention of two Jerusalemites until Monday and Wednesday and released the two youths Ahmad Mahmoud and Waseem Obaid from al-Issawiya town on a personal bail.

A number of hunger striking prisoners being held in Nitsan-Ramla isolation cells have seen their health deteriorate significantly, the strikers’ media committee revealed in a statement issued on Monday.
Some of the prisoners were transferred to Israeli hospitals after their health deteriorated, the committee pointed out.
Following his visit to the prison, lawyer for the committee Ihab al-Ghuliz said that growing number of prisoners are facing serious health problems including frequent fainting, vomiting, sharp head pains, low blood pressure, and weight loss.
There are currently 72 Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike in Nitsan isolation cells in Ramla prison protesting their catastrophic detention conditions.

A number of Palestinian hunger striking prisoners’ mothers along with a group of local activists spent last night in protest tents erected outside the Nativity Church in Bethlehem.
Speaking to the PIC reporter, one of the mothers said that they decided to spend the night in the tents for fear of being removed ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit to the city on Tuesday.
"We will not leave the tents unless our hunger striking sons’ demands are met", she said
"Our fears over the health condition of our sons as they continue hunger strike for the 35th day are growing", she added.
"We will try to meet Trump to brief him about the prisoners’ suffering in Israeli jails and to demand a real action towards their demands", according to her.
For his part, director of PA committee for prisoners' affairs in Bethlehem Menqaz Abu Atwan said that the mothers decided to spend the night in the tents despite the cold weather to shed more light on the Dignity and Freedom Strike.

62 Palestinians from the besieged Gaza Strip left the coastal enclave Monday morning through the Israeli-controlled Erez checkpoint after they were granted permission to visit their imprisoned relatives in Ramon prison.
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) spokesperson in Gaza Suheir Zaqout affirmed that 62 Palestinian from Gaza visited 40 Palestinian prisoners held in Ramon prison through facilitation from the ICRC.
Zaqout added that there were 12 children among the visitors.
More than 1,500 Palestinian prisoners are currently forgoing food for the 35th consecutive day in protest against their difficult detention conditions in Israeli prisons and demanding basic rights that were withdrawn from them by the Israeli Prison Service.

Undercover Israeli soldiers kidnapped, on Sunday evening, a young Palestinian man near Ramallah, in the central part of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said the undercover soldiers infiltrated into Deir Abu Mashal village, northwest of Ramallah and abducted a young man, identified as Omar Sobhi al-Far, 23.
The undercover soldiers forced the man into their car, while he was walking on one of the village’s streets, and sped sway, taking him to an unknown destination.

Eight Palestinians were injured, and fourteen others suffered the effects of teargas inhalation, Sunday, after Israeli soldiers invaded the northern area of Jericho city, in the occupied West Bank, clashed with local youths, abducted two residents, and damaged the windshield of an ambulance.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Jericho said eight Palestinians were shot with rubber-coated steel bullets, and were moved to a local hospital.
It added that its medics also provided treatment to at least 14 other Palestinians, who suffered the severe effects of teargas inhalation.

Samer served 10 years in the Israeli prison system and became an internationally recognized icon for the prioners’ movement, after spending 9 months on hunger strike in 2013.
Some 1,800 detainees are still struggling with the occupation’s measures through the “Freedom and Dignity Hunger Strike”, which has been continuing, now, for the 35th day in a row, according to Al Ray.

Another young man was taken prisoner during a raid on his home in al-Khader town, west of Bethlehem province. He was identified as Mohamed al-Fawaghra.
