The Israeli police extended Wednesday the arrest of three guards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque who were earlier detained from al-Aqsa compound.
The three security guards of the compound were assaulted and detained by Israeli police on Wednesday morning, as hundreds of right-wing Israeli settlers broke into the holy site and performed Talmudic rituals.
Three other Jerusalemites’ detention was extended after being detained last week from Shufat town north of the occupied city.

The Israeli Prison Service (IPS) transferred Wednesday evening the hunger-striking prisoner Samer Issawi to Tel HaShomer Hospital after his serious health deterioration.
Issawi has joined the Freedom and Dignity Hunger Strike declared on April 17 demanding an end to the denial of family visits, the right to pursue higher education, appropriate medical care and treatment, and an end to solitary confinement and administrative detention, in addition to other demands for basic rights.
The news came as dozens of prisoners were taken to hospitals on Wednesday morning.
Palestinian Committee of Prisoners’ Affairs head Issa Qaraqe said that the IPS would negotiate with the striking prisoners if only they stop the hunger strike.
He pointed out that the prisoners threatened to escalate their protest steps if their demands are not met.
About 1,800 Palestinian prisoners are continuing their open-ended hunger strike, which most of them started 38 days ago to demand basic rights.

Israeli forces, on Wednesday, detained two Palestinian minors near the Israeli Salem military camp to the west of Jenin, said local sources.
Sources told WAFA that Israeli army detained two minors aged 16 and 17, from Jenin refugee camp, while they near the Israeli Salem military camp.
Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli forces detained several Palestinians and seized cash and electronic devices during multiple overnight raids, across a number of West Bank districts.
Ma’an News Agency further reports that at least two Palestinian children were beaten and detained by Israeli forces inside the Aida refugee camp, located in the northern part of Bethlehem city in the southern occupied West Bank.
Witnesses said that Israeli forces raided the camp in military jeeps at around 9:30 a.m. while students from the camp’s United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) school were returning home from their final exams.
The soldiers then got out of their jeeps near the camp’s cemetery and assaulted two students, whose identities remained unknown. After beating the two, the soldiers threw them into the jeep and took them into a military base located adjacent to the camp.
“After arresting the two kids, the soldiers lined up a group of students against the wall and began pointing their guns in the kids’ faces,” one witness, who recorded the incident on video, said.
The soldiers then began yelling at the students, accusing them of covering up for someone who allegedly threw a homemade pipe bomb at the military base around 8:30 a.m.
The witness insisted, however, that there was no way the students could have been involved in the incident or know who threw the bomb, since they were in school taking their final exams.
Shortly after interrogating the students in the street, soldiers raided Aida’s Lajee Center, a community organization for refugee youth that stands at the entrance to the camp, and confiscated the center’s computers and security camera footage, which the witness highlighted happens nearly every time any rocks or explosive devices area thrown at the military base, given the center’s location on the main road of the camp, just across from the base.
The witness highlighted that the soldiers prevented the center’s employees from entering the building while the soldiers were inside.
As the soldiers were inside the center, local activists and children from the camp stood outside the center, holding Palestinian flags and chanting slogans, calling for “the occupation soldiers to get out.”
An Israeli army spokesperson said they were looking into reports.
Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
As Israeli forces have maintained an almost daily presence in the camp in recent months, locals in Aida have reported escalated military procedures over the past several months, creating what some residents have called a perpetual “atmosphere of fear.”
In February, Israeli forces raided the camp in broad daylight and violently detained a boy in the street as he was walking home from school.
A video shared on social media shows Israeli soldiers aggressively throwing the boy into the back of a military vehicle.
One day prior, soldiers had raided the Lajee center where they seized computers and security camera footage, after Israeli police said that “a suspicious object” was thrown at Rachel’s Tomb, which is located next to the Lajee Center on the other side of Israel’s separation barrier.
In a statement following a violent detention raid in the camp, Lajee called the raid “part of the routine disturbance and abuse caused by Israeli soldiers,” in the camp, asserting that “military operations in the camp have caused irreversible damage to residents, especially children, who are being denied their basic right of protection against abuse and harm.”
“The unsafe living conditions in the camp due to constant presence of Israeli military forces deeply affects the health development of children and jeopardizes the future of the community,” the statement added.

In addition, the soldiers invaded Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, and abducted Mahmoud Ahmad al-Allami, 16, from his family’s homes near the main entrance of the town.
Media sources said the soldiers claimed the Palestinians, who were taken prisoner in Hebron, are members of Hamas, and that the army illegally confiscated 20.000 Jordanian Dinars.
Furthermore, the soldiers invaded Shweika area, east of Tulkarem in the northern part of the West Bank, and broke into what it called a “weapon’s manufacturing workshop,” before confiscated tools and machines.
In occupied East Jerusalem, the soldiers attacked and injured several civil guards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, before abducting three of them.
Four of the wounded guards have been identified as identified as Arafat Najeeb, Khalil Tarhouni, Nour Abu Hadwan and Nidal al-Wa’ri.

The longest-serving Palestinian prisoner Kareem Younis said on Wednesday on the 38th day of the Freedom and Dignity hunger strike that the prisoners will take escalating steps soon.
The media committee of the strike said that the majority of the prisoners suffer from a sharp decline in weight and blood pressure as well as vomiting and bleeding.
The committee pointed to the repeated fainting and convulsions among the prisoners, adding that many of them have sustained skin diseases due to lack of vitamins in their bodies.
Younis, who has been detained for 35 years in Israeli jails, said in statements to the lawyer Tamim Younis after he visited him that the hunger striking prisoners will stop drinking water and salt soon as a starting point of the escalating steps they will take.
He pointed out that the Israel Prison Service tried several times to convince them to suspend their hunger strike in exchange for discussing their demands later but they categorically rejected. The prisoners are determined to go on with the strike until the achievement of their demands, he added.
For its part, the National Committee to Support the Freedom and Dignity Strike called upon the Palestinian citizens to be present in the solidarity tents in all provinces on Wednesday at 11:00 am and to launch night demonstrations at 8:00 pm.
The hunger strikers mainly demand an end to the policies of administrative detention, solitary confinement, denial of family visits and medical negligence.

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested on Wednesday afternoon three Palestinian juveniles at the entrance of Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem. The IOF also confiscated a car of an ex-detainee in al-Ubaidiyah town, south of the city.
The PIC reporter said that the three minors were rounded up while going back home after school. IOF soldiers broke into Laji' Center, catering for refugees affairs, in Aida and confiscated its security cameras' records, he added.
In the same context, IOF troops stormed and wreaked havoc inside the home of ex-prisoner Hisham Radayda in al-Ubaidiyah town, south of Bethlehem city, before confiscating his own car.

A report by the media committee of the “Freedom and Dignity” hunger strike, has revealed that the Israeli prison administration in Hadarim detention center has transferred at least twenty striking detainees to a hospital.
The committee stated that the detainees were transferred to Meir Medical Center, after suffering serious health complications.
It also said that the detainees in Hadarim prison are subject to daily invasions and searches of their rooms, and that the soldiers frequently confiscate their salt, and continue to isolate them from the rest of the world.
The detainees intend to start escalating their strike in the coming few days, including refusing medical checkups and are considering even stopping drinking water.
Lawyer Hanan Khatib of the Palestinian Detainees’ Committee said she managed to visit Yousef Kamel Za’aqeeq, held in Hadarim, who informed her that Israel is frequently transferring the striking detainees to and from several prisons.
Khatib added that Za’aqeeq informed her that dozens of detainees have suffered serious weight loss, are constantly dizzy, fainting, in addition to suffering from sharp pain, especially in the abdomen, kidneys, and joints.
She also said that Israel is refusing to grant information about the health conditions of many striking detainees, and added that many ambulances are constantly parked in front of the prisons.
It is worth mentioning that the hunger strike started on April 17th, 2017, which also marks the Palestinian Prisoners’ Day.

Palestinian prisoner Ibrahim Hamed, a senior Hamas military leader, has called on al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas to make more efforts to extract the freedom of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails, expressing his confidence in them.
“The 12th anniversary of my detention has come while I am fighting a battle against the occupation behind walls with an empty stomach. We aim through this hunger strike to extract our legitimate human rights,” Hamed said in a letter published by the website of al-Qassam Brigades.
He also addressed the Palestinian masses outside the Israeli jails, saying that the Palestinian prisoners need their support to confront their harsh incarceration conditions.
“You are the support we need outside the prisons’ walls. We are waiting for your organized revolution against the usurping occupation,” he said.

Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies warned of the blackout policy practiced by Israeli Prison Service (IPS) on the news of Palestinian hunger striking detainees in Israeli jails.
The center stated that the IPS news blackout policy reflects the seriousness of the hunger strikers’ conditions and the IPS fears that disclosing information on their conditions would lead to escalated protest moves by families of prisoners and solidarity activists.
The center’s spokesman, Riyad al-Ashqar, said the IPS allows news only on the transfer of some striking detainees to hospitals. It has also been suspending lawyer visits in full disregard to the fact that 37 days have already passed since the start of the open hunger strike, Ashqar added.
He called on humanitarian and health institutions including the International Committee of the Red Cross to intervene in order to reveal the health conditions of the hunger striking captives.

The Israeli Occupation Authorities (IOA) summoned Tuesday evening the wife and nephew of Muhaned Abu Safaqa who was earlier detained after being shot and injured by Israeli police over an alleged stabbing attack in Netanya.
Local sources affirmed to the PIC reporter that an Israeli intelligence officer served summonses for both Abu Safaqa’s wife and nephew for investigation.
Earlier Tuesday, Israeli forces shot and detained Abu Safaqa after he allegedly stabbed an Israeli police officer in Netanya.
Rights groups have routinely condemned Israeli forces for their excessive use of force against Palestinians during such incidents which could have been handled without the use of potentially lethal violence.
