Israeli occupation forces (IOF) rounded up seven Palestinians in various West Bank areas at dawn Wednesday and extended the detention of 8 Jerusalemites including two minors. Local sources in Deir Nizam village, west of Ramallah, said that IOF soldiers burst into the village at dawn and rounded up four young men 17 to 22 years old.
They said that the soldiers blasted their way into the houses and searched them before taking away the four young men handcuffed.
Two other Palestinians were arrested in downtown Al-Khalil, local sources said, adding that settlers assaulted one of them.
The sources said that the first, Mahmoud Idris, was taken from Shuhada street while the other, Ala’a Abu Turki was taken from his home after searching it and blasting its main door.

The Palestine center for studies has said that the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) had postponed visits to prisoners in Megiddo prison on Wednesday to allow more time to cover for its crime on Tuesday. The center said in a press release on Wednesday that the IOA informed the Red Cross that no visits would be allowed for Megiddo prisoners till 20th November.
It charged that the visit cancellation came as a punishment for prisoners in the first place for protesting the death of their colleague Hasan Turabi, who was held in Megiddo before his transfer to Afula hospital where he died of cancer.
The center said that the cancellation was also aimed at covering the result of its assault on prisoners with teargas and beating, which caused fractures and bruises to many of them.
The center asked international organizations to send a fact-finding mission into Israeli jails to probe the attacks and crimes committed against the Palestinians prisoners in violation of the simplest rules of international agreements.
It called for bringing Israeli leaders and prison wardens to account for offences against prisoners that are tantamount to war crimes.

They said that violent clashes were reported in various alleys in the camp and many citizens were treated for breathing problems.

UFree Network to defend the rights of Palestinian prisoners strongly condemned the Israeli occupation prison authorities for its medical negligence which resulted in the death of Palestinian prisoner Hassan Al Torabi due to his illness with cancer, bringing the number of Palestinian prisoners who died in Israeli jails to 205. Al Torabi was detained since the 1st of January 2013 regardless of his severe health condition where he suffered cancer.
UFree Network denounced the international community’s silence towards the Israeli crimes against Palestinian prisoners and detainees on a daily basis, pointing out that 1600 patient prisoners are being held in Israeli occupation jails including 25 with cancer.
The Oslo based network called on the contracting parties of the Fourth Geneva Convention to intervene immediately to put an end to Israeli violations against prisoners and to work for their release.

The International Solidarity Movement (ISM) published on Wednesday, 30th October 2013, a video footage shows Israeli soldiers arresting two terrified Palestinian boys in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron (Khalil).
An international activist in the video repeatedly said, "He is eleven years old, he is too young to be arrested. He is under 12 years old, he is too young to be arrested." According to ISM, the Israeli forces fired stun grenades toward the schoolchildren before grabbing and taking the 10-year-old kids, Noor and Mohammed, to a nearby police station. The detained kids were transferred to the Palestinian District Coordination Office (DCO) after about an hour. |
Activists in the video said that detaining children is illegal, even according to Israeli law.
The group said the children in Hebron are routinely harassed and arrested on their way to school without just cause or reason.
Human rights groups condemn the Israeli continued brutal actions against the Palestinian children and called on the international community to intervene to stop the Israeli arrest and detention of children which violate the international humanitarian law.

The Magistrate court judge extended on Tuesday the arrest of 13-year old Othman Amer Is’eed from the neighborhood of Bab Hutta until next Thursday.
Othman’s lawyer appealed the decision in the District court which rejected the appeal and ratified the Magistrate court’s decision.
The Israeli forces had arrested Othman and his 15-year old brother Obaida on Sunday night after raiding and searching their home in the neighbourhood of Bab Hutta in the old city of Jerusalem. They were investigated by themselves and without having a companion and a hearing session was held on Monday where Othman’s arrest was extended until Thursday and his brother Obaida until next Wednesday.
Amer Is’eed explained that both of his sons were severely beaten during the investigation at Al-Maskobyeh especially the 13-year old.
He appealed for the legal and human rights organization to quickly interfere to allow him to visit his sons at Al-Maskobyeh, and to prevent the children investigation and the assault they undergo at Al-Maskobyeh.

Hamas movement held the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) fully responsible for the death of captive Hasan Al-Turabi due to its deliberate medical neglect of Palestinian prisoners and the inhuman practices against Turabi. Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday that the “martyrdom of Turabi, 22, is a new Israeli crime in the series of crimes against our prisoners that are not subject to statute of limitation”.
The movement warned the IOA of continuing in its aggressive practices against Palestinian prisoners, adding that such practices would not break the determination of those prisoners.

Member of the political bureau of Hamas movement, Mousa Abu Marzouk stated that the Israeli arrest campaign against the resistance leaders will not break their spirits and will pave the way for the outbreak of an intifada. Israeli patrols raided at dawn Tuesday different parts in Nablus and arrested two Palestinians. Local sources confirmed that Israeli forces stormed many areas in Nablus city and arrested two young men of Mari and Abu Salhiya families.

Family of Jerusalemite captive Ali Da'na, 35, appealed to all health institutions and human rights organizations to immediately intervene to save the life of its son, who has been suffering from serious health problems for many years. Ali has been arrested 3 times, the last of which on 16 July 2003. The occupation sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment, after he was accused of helping in an attack on Jaffa beach that resulted in killing a settler and wounding another.
He was transferred from one jail to another and now is being held in the Negev prison, where the prison administration prevented him from completing his studies.
His brother Abu Abd Rahman told the Palestinian Prisoners' Center for Studies that Ali has been suffering from several health issues in light of the medical negligence in the prison, noting that the prison doctor suspects that he has bowel cancer.
He also pointed out that his brother filed a complaint against the prison administration in the Supreme Court, which agreed to bring doctor to the prison to offer him treatment, but until now the prison administration has not issued a permit to allow the doctor visit the patient captive.
Da'na expressed his deep concern about the life of his detained brother in light of the serious deterioration of his health condition and the policy of medical neglect in the occupation jails.

It also called on Palestinian, Arab and Islamic peoples to act urgently and effectively to raise prisoners' issue in international forums to end the plight of the Palestinian prisoners.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported that detainee Hasan Abdul-Halim Toraby, 22 years of age, died at the Al-‘Affoula Israeli Hospital, after being denied essential medical treatment. He was recently moved to the ‘Affoula hospital after a sharp deterioration in his condition.
Toraby is from Sorra village, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus. He suffered from Leukemia, and was not provided the urgently needed specialized treatment.
Head of the PPS office in Nablus Raed ‘Amer said that Toraby was taken prisoner ten months ago, and that, ten days ago, his condition severely deteriorated after his blood vessels ruptured.
‘Amer said that the PPS and other organizations are trying to coordinate the transfer of his body to Nablus, so that he can be properly buried.
Palestinian Minister of Detainees Issa Qaraqe’ said that the number of detainees who died in Israeli prisons since the beginning of this year arrived to four; Ashraf Abu Threi’ who died on January 21 due to medical neglect, Arafat Jaradat who died on February 23 due to extreme torture, and Maisara Abu Hamdiyya who died on April second due to medical neglect.
His death brings the number of detainees who died in Israeli prison due to torture, medical neglect and due to being executed by the arresting officers since 1967 to 207 detainees.
Head of the PPS Qaddoura Fares said that Israel is fully responsible for the deaths of those detainees, and that the Israeli occupation is deliberately depriving the ailing detainees from the needed medical attention.
Fares called for the release of all ailing detainees so that they can get the adequate and urgently needed medical attention, and called on all human rights groups around the world to hold Israel accountable for its crimes.

Head of the PPS office in Nablus Raed ‘Amer said that Toraby was taken prisoner ten months ago, and that, ten days ago, his condition severely deteriorated after his blood vessels ruptured.
‘Amer said that the PPS and other organizations are trying to coordinate the transfer of his body to Nablus, so that he can be properly buried.
Palestinian Minister of Detainees Issa Qaraqe’ said that the number of detainees who died in Israeli prisons since the beginning of this year arrived to four; Ashraf Abu Threi’ who died on January 21 due to medical neglect, Arafat Jaradat who died on February 23 due to extreme torture, and Maisara Abu Hamdiyya who died on April second due to medical neglect.
His death brings the number of detainees who died in Israeli prison due to torture, medical neglect and due to being executed by the arresting officers since 1967 to 207 detainees.
Head of the PPS Qaddoura Fares said that Israel is fully responsible for the deaths of those detainees, and that the Israeli occupation is deliberately depriving the ailing detainees from the needed medical attention.
Fares called for the release of all ailing detainees so that they can get the adequate and urgently needed medical attention, and called on all human rights groups around the world to hold Israel accountable for its crimes.

80 Gazans left the coastal enclave on Monday morning to visit their relatives held in the Nafha Prison, the International Committee for the Red Cross announced. ICRC spokesperson Nasser al-Najjar said, 80 persons, including 15 children, left via the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing in northern Gaza to visit their detained relatives.
Israel recently reactivated Gaza family visit program, after suspending it in 2007.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) raided the village of Beit Lakia, west of Ramallah, at dawn Monday and broke into and searched the home of martyr Mohammed Asy. Local sources said that a big number of IOF soldiers mounting jeeps encircled the home of Asy and served summonses to his father and brother.
They said that the soldiers threatened both that they would be arrested if they did not show up for the intelligence questioning.

Palestinian captive Akram al-Fsissi, from Ethna village west of al-Khalil, has continued his hunger strike for 36 days in a row protesting his administrative detention. Al-Fsissi, 30, began his strike since 29 September while he was in Ofer prison. He was then transferred to Ramle prison in October where he has continued his strike protesting his administrative detention, knowing that he is a liberated prisoner.

The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) arrested 23 Palestinians after their release from Palestinian Authority (PA) jails in October. A statistics report issued by Hamas in the West Bank showed that the 23 men were political detainees and were either cadres or supporters of the movement.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) nabbed seven young men in Silwan town, south of the Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, on Saturday night. Local sources said that IOF soldiers and policemen broke into a house in Wadi Qaddum suburb and arrested the young men.

The Palestine center for studies said in its monthly report that the IOF soldiers escalated arrest campaigns in lines of the Palestinian people in the past month to foil their joy with the release of the second batch of long-serving prisoners.
It pointed out that IOF soldiers launched more than 240 raids into various West Bank cities, towns, and refugee camps in addition to occupied Jerusalem.
The center said that the detainees included 65 children, the youngest being an eight-year-old child.
