The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) attacked Monday evening a Palestinian young man near al-Khalil south of occupied West Bank.
Eyewitnesses told a PIC reporter that IOF brutally attacked the youngster Tareq Nawaja while on his way to work in Fawar refugee camp in the city.
Tareq was severely beaten after being stopped and detained at a makeshift checkpoint at the entrance to the camp.
Dozens of Palestinian vehicles were also stopped and searched at the checkpoint.
Along the same line, a popular march is scheduled to be organized on Tuesday in al-Khalil to demand the return of the bodies of slain Palestinians.
Local residents called for large participation in the march on Tuesday afternoon to demand that Israel hand over the bodies of their sons who were killed by Israeli forces since the outbreak of the Jerusalem Intifada.
Israel is holding the corpses of 26 Palestinians as a form of collective punishment that blocks the proper investigation of their deaths. As further punishment for the families, the Israeli government has threatened to bury their bodies in military cemeteries in Israel.

Israeli authorities recently issued administrative detention orders, without charge or trial, against nine Palestinian minor prisoners, according to the Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs (CPA).
Heba Masalha, a CPA attorney, identified the nine prisoners as Huthaifa Jabarin, Mahmoud Abu-Ali, Ashraf Zaid, Mahmoud Shweki, Jamal Dari, Nasim Hawarin, Abdul-Ghani Hammad, Majd Saadi, and Adnan al-Azayzeh.
Meanwhile, Masalha said prisoner 18-year-old Mahmoud Odeh from Tulkarm, who was recently detained by Israeli forces, was brutally tortured in Israeli jails.
Odeh told Masalha that during several investigation sessions, investigators used cigarettes to burn holes through his skin and force him to confess.
Administrative detention is the imprisonment of Palestinians without charge or trial and on the basis of secret evidence for up to six month periods, indefinitely renewable by Israeli military courts.
According to the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network (PPSN), “Israel’s use of administrative detention violates international law; such detention is allowed only in individual circumstances that are exceptionally compelling for “imperative reasons of security.”
Human rights groups have repeatedly accused Israel of using administrative detention routinely as a form of collective punishment against Palestinians.
Israel frequently uses administrative detention when it fails to obtain confessions in interrogations of Palestinian detainees.

On the 7th of November, soldiers entered the home of the Haddad family from 5am, and did not leave until 7am the following day.
At this time, there were 8 people inside the home who were forced into one of the rooms. 20 soldiers entered Haddad’s home and began taking pictures, while settlers were cheering and dancing outside the front.
The family was denied any privacy as the door remained open and a guard was posted at the door for the duration of the occupation. There were significant delays for the bathroom. The youngest daughter, aged 8, had to wait for over an hour and each time the door had to be kept open.
One of the daughters of the family, aged 25, was permitted to leave to purchase food, however she was unable to return as clashes broke out in the area. She was forced to stay with her sister, therefore the family had very little food. They were permitted only 5 minutes in the kitchen and were not able to have a square meal.
Whilst the family was detained in room, soldiers used the bathroom and kitchen freely, and tracked mud through the carpets.
During this same period of time, the YAS centre was raided and activists were detained inside. Not only did the military occupy the centre, they also destroyed the media facilities in the apartment, stealing and destroying cameras, computers, hard drives, and other important equipment.

Israeli authorities have escalated the administrative detention process since the eruption of a Palestinian uprising in the beginning of last October. The number of administrative detainees increased to 500, the head of the Commission of Palestinian detainee affairs said.
Issa Qaraqe explained, according to Al Ray, that Israeli authorities used administrative detention as an alternative to just trials. Using the procedure in a daily pattern is considered a collective punishment, which is a violation of international law and the Geneva Conventions, and a breach of civil and political rights, he added.
He accused the Israeli occupation of using the collective punishment policy against the Palestinian people.
Under administrative detention, Israel can arrest anyone under the pretext of security reasons. Qaraqe expected that administrative detainees would not sit idly for long, and they will soon take steps against this policy.
The detentions included political and parliamentary figures, women and children, on charges as trivial as "incitement on social websites".
Administrative detention is a jailing procedure dating back to the times of British Mandate in Palestine, which allows the Israeli military to hold prisoners indefinitely on secret information, without charging them or allowing them to stand trial.
The frequency of the use of administrative detention has fluctuated throughout Israel’s occupation, and has been steadily rising since the outbreak of the second intifada, in September of 2000.
On the eve of the second intifada, Israel held 12 Palestinians in administrative detention. Only two years later, in late 2002-early 2003, there were over one thousand Palestinians in administrative detention. Between 2005 and 2007, the average monthly number of Palestinian administrative detainees held by Israel remained stable at approximately 765. Since then, as the situation on the ground stabilized and violence tapered off, the number of administrative detainees has generally decreased every year.
As of 1 September 2012, there were at least 212 administrative detainees in Israeli prisons. This number included 7 members of the Palestinian Legislative Council.
