The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested Thursday morning a Palestinian schoolboy at a military checkpoint near the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil.
Local sources reported that the nine-year-old boy Mohamed Da’na was arrested at Abu Rish military checkpoint while on his way to school for unknown reasons.
Some 300 Palestinian children are currently held in Israeli prisons, according to a statement issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) on the Universal Children’s Day.
The Ramallah-based organization said that around 4,000 children had been detained by Israeli forces since October 2015, most of whom had been released.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces have killed 14 Palestinian children in the West Bank and Gaza Strip since the start of this year, the sources added.
Israeli Soldiers Abduct Nine Palestinians In The West Bank
Israeli soldiers abducted, overnight until Thursday at dawn, nine Palestinians, including a child, only nine years of age, in several parts of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported.
The PPS said that the soldiers invaded many homes in the southern West Bank governorate of Hebron, and abducted three Palestinians, identified as Mohammad Ammar Da’na, only nine years of age, in addition to Mo’men Ayoub Qawasma and ‘Adel Barkat Gheith.
In Jenin, in northern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Sharaf Abu ‘Obeid, from the al-Yamoun town, and Mohammad Saleh Saba’na, from Qabatia town.
In Tulkarem, also in northern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Ezzeddin Abu Dayya.
In Ramallah, in center West Bank, the soldiers abducted Sa’id Nakhla, from the al-Jalazoun refugee camp.
In Bethlehem, south of Jerusalem, the soldiers abducted Shadi al-Badawna and Yousef Mohammad Salah.

A number of Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at daybreak Thursday in abduction sweeps rocking the West Bank.

The detainee was dragged to an unidentified destination by the occupation patrols.
At the same time, the IOF stormed a home belonging to the Palestinian citizen Mohamed Saba’na in Jenin’s town of Qabatiya before they kidnapped the house owner and aggressively attacked his family.
Clashes flared up in the area, where the heavily-armed occupation troops attacked Palestinian anti-occupation youths with randomly-unleashed spates of teargas canisters and sound bombs. A series of ambushes was set by the IOF in the process.
The Israeli soldiers also pitched a flying checkpoint at the main entrance to Muthalath al-Shuhada town and cracked down on Palestinian farmers on their way to Qabatiya. Another checkpoint was spotted on the access road to Yabad.
Meanwhile, the IOF broke into Qalqilya’s eastern town of Azzun, and rummaged into over 30 Palestinian homes in the area.
The sweep culminated in the abduction of the Palestinian youth Mo’men al-Qawasmi from his family home in al-Khalil and the mother of Palestinian youngster Youssef Salah from Bethlehem’s town of al-Khader.
Other Israeli army troops also showed up in al-Jalazoun refugee camp, northeast of Ramallah.

The Commission of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners sounded the alarm on Wednesday over the exacerbated health condition of Palestinian prisoner Emad Saraj, aged 38.
According to the Prisoners Commission, Saraj, a native of Gaza’s al-Bureij refugee camp and held in the Israeli Nafha desert jail, has been enduring a critical psycho-physical condition and has lost his ability to speak.
The commission quoted prisoners at Nafha lock-up as stating that Saraja’s health has started to take a turn for the worse following his 41-day open-ended hunger strike held last April.
The detainees also spoke out against the systematic medical neglect perpetrated by the Israeli medics against Saraj all the way through his hunger strike, adding that the detainee receives no treatments and has only been provided with pain relievers.
Nafha inmates threatened to step up protest moves in case the Israeli prison authorities keep dragging their feet as regards ongoing appeals to urgently provide Saraj with life-saving medical treatment.
They further launched distress signals over the dire detention conditions which they have been subjected to in Nafha prison.
Saraj was kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces from the West Bank in 2004. He was sentenced to a life-term and 30 years in jail.
At the same time, 41-year-old Palestinian detainee Salah al-Khawaja, from Ramallah’s western town of N’ilin, has been on an open-ended hunger strike for the 10th consecutive day to protest his administrative detention, with neither charge nor trial, in Israeli jails.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS), prisoners Hatem Abdul Kader and Mustafa Arafat, freed from the Israeli Mascoubiya jail after they paid a fine of 2,000 shekels, were sentenced to house confinement.
The new term is to remain in effect until November 27.
At the same time, PPS said at least 17 Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday in abduction sweeps rocking Occupied Jerusalem. A number of arrestees were released following intensive interrogation. However, the occupation authorities ruled that three detainees—Mus’ab Abbas, Issam al-Khatib, and Asil Hasouna—be held in custody until November 27.

The Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday evening kidnapped three Palestinian young men from the northern West Bank province of Jenin.
According to local sources, Israeli soldiers stormed Jenin’s eastern town of Fakou’a and kidnapped two Palestinian brothers—Mohamed and Ameer Massad—from their family home.
Palestinian young man Iyad Abu Zahra was also kidnapped by the Israeli patrols from Deir Abu Da’if village, east of Jenin.

Ofer military court on Wednesday handed two life sentences to the Palestinian prisoner Malek Hamed who is a resident of Silwad town to the east of Ramallah.
MivzakLive website said that Hamed was convicted of carrying out a car-ramming attack in which an Israeli soldier was killed and three others were injured near Ofra settlement in April 2017.
The Hebrew website added that Hamed was also ordered to pay a financial compensation worth 280,000 shekels ($800,000) to the family of the dead soldier and to another soldier who sustained moderate injuries in the attack.

Several Israeli army jeeps invaded, on Wednesday at dawn, Barta’a town, isolated behind the Annexation Wall, southwest of Jenin in northern West bank, and abducted a young man, in addition to abducting another Palestinian at a military roadblock.
Media sources in Jenin said the soldiers invaded and searched homes, in the Eastern Neighborhood in Barta’a, and abducted a young man, identified as Ahmad Mahmoud Kabaha.
Furthermore, the soldiers abducted Sa’ad Ed-Din Jaradat, 27, from Zabbouba town, west of Jenin, after stopping him at a military roadblock near the town while he was heading back home.
In related news, the soldiers invaded Jinsafut village, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, stormed many homes and violently searched them.
The soldiers interrogated several Palestinians while ransacking their homes, and withdrew hours later without conducting any arrests.
In Ramallah, in central West Bank, the soldiers invaded a jewelry store, owned by Hani Ezz and his three brothers, and detonated its safe before illegally confiscated gold, cash and other property.
The soldiers caused excessive damage to the furniture in the store. It is worth mentioning that the store provides livelihood to forty Palestinians.

Israeli soldiers abducted, on Wednesday morning, two young men in Palestinian lands close to the border fence, in Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Israeli navy ships fired live rounds at fishing boats northwest of Gaza City.
The WAFA Palestinian News Agency has reported that the soldiers abducted the two young men, just as they approached the border fence, and took them to an unknown destination.
In related news, Israeli navy ships opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats in the Sudaniyya Sea, northwest of Gaza city, forcing the fishers back to shore in fear of further navy escalation.
The boats were in Palestinian territorial waters, less than four nautical miles away from the shore; all fishing boats had to return to the shore to avoid being targeted by navy fire.
The WAFA Palestinian News Agency has reported that the soldiers abducted the two young men, just as they approached the border fence, and took them to an unknown destination.
In related news, Israeli navy ships opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats in the Sudaniyya Sea, northwest of Gaza city, forcing the fishers back to shore in fear of further navy escalation.
The boats were in Palestinian territorial waters, less than four nautical miles away from the shore; all fishing boats had to return to the shore to avoid being targeted by navy fire.

The Ofer Israeli military court, near Ramallah in central West Bank, has delayed the deliberations of the case against senior nonviolent activist, the head of the “Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission,” Abdullah Abu Rahma.
Abu Rahma was abducted last Sunday at dawn, along with Ahmad Abu Rahma, 16, after the soldiers invaded Bil’in village, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and stormed their homes.
The Commission strongly denounced the abduction and imprisonment of Abu Rahma, said that this was part of Israel’s illegal targeting of nonviolent activists, and demanded his immediate and unconditional release.
It is worth mentioning that six Israeli army jeeps invaded Bil’in, approximately a 12:30 after midnight, November 22, 2017, fired many gas bombs at random, and withdrew an hour later.

In related news, nonviolent activist Ashraf Abu Rahma, who was abducted by the soldiers a month ago, was sentenced by Ofer military court for two additional months, and 5000 Shekels fines.
Photojournalist Haitham Khatib said that Ashraf has been threatened with five additional five years of imprisonment, if he attends the peaceful processions in the village.
Khatib said the army is alleging that Ashraf also “hurled stones at the soldiers,” but confirmed that he and Ashraf marched together. He affirmed Ashraf did not throw stones or resort to any form of violence.
“He is a peaceful activist like me! Israel are trying to destroy my village’s peaceful demonstrations!” Haitham added.
In related news, nonviolent activist Ashraf Abu Rahma, who was abducted by the soldiers a month ago, was sentenced by Ofer military court for two additional months, and 5000 Shekels fines.
