IOF arrests Hamas leader

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested Hamas leader in Tulkarem refugee camp Jamal Hadaida, 45, on Tuesday night. Fuad Al-Khafsh, the director of Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies and human rights, said in a statement on Wednesday that Hadaida had served 16 separate years in Israeli occupation jails during which he was subjected to excruciating torture rounds.

He said that Hadaida, who was summoned to a liaison office near Tulkarem city then arrested, suffered a gunshot wound during his earlier arrest that was in his house, adding that his wife also suffered a gunshot wound in the same incident after which he served one year in administrative detention.

Khafsh asked all human rights groups to defend the Palestinian prisoners who are usually subjected to summary trials.

Disabled Jerusalemite attends Israeli court hearing

A disabled Jerusalemite youth is to stand trial at Jerusalem’s Magistrate Court on Wednesday morning. The Palestinian prisoner’s society said in a statement on Tuesday that 19-year-old Ahmed Obaid was arrested on 27 August and held behind bars for a week.

It said that Obaid, who is classified among the category of special needs, was then held under house arrest in his village of Issawiye until his court hearing.

Palestinian prisoners in Gilboa prison deprived from family visits

The Israeli authorities continued depriving the Palestinian prisoners in Gilboa prison from family visits including Eid al-Adha visits since ten days ago. The Israeli measure came as part of the collective penalties imposed against the prisoners following their protests against the Israeli break-in into section 1.

The Israeli Prison Services (IPS) refused to remove the ban on family visits during Eid al-Adha although family visits during holidays have more priority than normal visits.

For its part, the Palestinian Prisoners Society stated that the IPS and representatives of the prisoners in Gilboa prison have reached a deal to restore the stability in the prison and to cancel all punitive measures against the prisoners except the ban on family visits.

The ban on family visits will continue till next month, while the prison is witnessing a state of tension due to the imposed penalties.

IOF raids al-Khalil, arrests 5 Palestinians including a girl

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) raided at dawn on Wednesday several areas in southern occupied West Bank city of al-Khalil, where they arrested 4 Palestinians and set up a number of barriers. Local sources stated that the IOF violently raided and searched several Palestinian houses before arresting four Palestinian citizens from their houses in different parts of al-Khalil.

Meanwhile, the Israeli forces have erected several checkpoints in entrances to different towns in al-Khalil, where they stopped and searched Palestinian vehicles passing by.

On the other hand, the Israeli soldiers have arrested a Palestinian girl Montaha al-Hih, 17, at the Ibrahimi mosque, claiming she attacked an Israeli soldier.

IOF soldiers brutally assaulted Hamdan Mohammed Haabna, a 15-year-old Palestinian child, during a visit to his relatives in the Old City in al-Khalil. He was then transferred to hospital for treatment.

Following the attack, violent clashes have erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers who fired tear gas bombs and rubber bullets. A Palestinian young man was hit in his leg by a rubber bullet during the clashes.

4 minors arrested in Nablus

Settlers attacked last night several houses in Burin village south of Nablus, while Israeli forces arrested four minors in the city. A group of Jewish settlers, from Brakha settlement built on Burin village, attacked a Palestinian house in the town. A child was injured during the attack in addition a state of panic has prevailed among the citizens.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official in charge of settlements file in the northern part of the West Bank, stated that Israeli settlers' attacks have significantly increased against Palestinian citizens and their properties particularly during the olive harvest season.

Meanwhile, Israeli settlers stormed Tuesday morning one of the Ibrahimi mosque's facilities in al-Khalil where they started restoration work as a prelude to confiscating it.

Al-Awqaf Department in al-Khalil was informed that the Israeli settlers have changed the door of the building adjacent to the mosque entrance as a prelude to taking it over.

Al-Awqaf department considered the settlers' restoration works as a blatant attack against Islamic religious sites and a provocation to Muslim worshipers' feelings.

The department called for an end to the restoration works to avoid contact between Muslim and Jewish worshipers.

Halahleh's father calls for his release

The father of the prisoner Thaer Halahleh, from Kharas village near al-Khalil, appealed on Wednesday to all human rights institutions to intervene to get his son released in light of his sharp health deterioration. Haj Halahleh told the PIC reporter that his son was transferred from Eshel prison to Soroka hospital after his health deterioration especially that Thaer is afflicted with hepatitis C virus.

Thaer has stopped taking medication protesting that Israeli deliberate medical negligence where he was not receiving proper treatment for hepatitis C.

The father called on all international organizations and human rights institutions to intervene and pressure the occupation authorities for the release of his son before it is too late.

Halahleh, a former hunger striker who was freed in 2012, was re-arrested in April 2013. He contracted the hepatitis C virus during a dental operation during his previous imprisonment in Israeli prisons where improper sterilization was used.

Waed: Captive Hammad in serious danger

Jordanian captive Ala’a Hammad is passing through a life threatening stage after 175 days of hunger strike, Waed society for prisoners said in a statement on Wednesday. It said that Hammad, who went on hunger strike on 1st May, was isolated from the outside world and was suffering from medical neglect in Israeli captivity.

The society said that the Israeli prison authorities were trying to pressure Hammad into breaking his strike, but he is adamant on continuing despite his exhaustion and worsening condition.

It said that Hammad, a holder of Jordanian passport, was deprived of seeing his wife and six children, adding that his wife and children had been living in Jordan for the past six years.

In the same context, an international campaign in solidarity with Hammad kicked off on Wednesday. One of the activists supervising the campaign Ayat Othman said that many activists around the world would participate in the campaign.

She said that the campaign would start with introducing the captive and his health condition and his demands in addition to shedding light on Israeli crimes against Palestinian prisoners in general.

Othman called for sending emails to the Jordanian monarch and his wife along with satellite TV stations and diplomats asking them to pressure Israel into releasing him.

Israeli Soldiers Arrest Four Palestinians in Hebron

Israeli occupation forces arrested on Wednesday, Ahmed Nasser al-Salaymeh near the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron and took him to an unknown location.

Local sources added that Israeli Army troops arrested Izz Ad-Din al-Hroub and Ahmed Mohammed al-Hroub from Deir Samet village, southwest of Hebron after storming and searching their houses. The soldiers also arrested 23-year-old Mohammed al-Qasas after raiding al-Aroub refugee camp in Hebron.

Palestinians Breach Section Of Annexation Wall In East Jerusalem

Tuesday Evening October 22, 2013] A number of Palestinian youths managed to dig a hole in a section of the Israeli Annexation Wall, isolating the Al-Ezariyya town, east of occupied East Jerusalem.

Media sources in Al-Ezariyya have reported that the Palestinians managed to breach four meters of the illegal Wall, and crossed into occupied Jerusalem.

The sources added that the act came in retaliation to the ongoing illegitimate Israeli policies of demolishing Palestinian homes in occupied Jerusalem, and its surrounding towns.

On Monday night after midnight, Israeli soldiers invaded Abu Dis nearby town, and demolished a home that belongs to resident Ashraf Abu Sneina, near the Al-Quds University.

The invasion led to clashes with local youths, and the army fired dozens of gas bombs, concussion grenades, and rubber-coated metal bullets, leading to dozens of injuries.

Fire also broke out in a building that belongs to the university, while several trees have also been burnt.

The invading soldiers also kidnapped a number of residents, and searched several homes.

Back in May this year, several Palestinian youths managed to dig a hole and breached the illegal Annexation Wall in Abu Dis, before Israeli soldiers attacked them, firing rounds of live ammunition, gas bomber, and rubber-coated metal bullets.

Israeli forces raid villages across Jenin, detain 2

Israeli forces raided houses in the northern West Bank village of Sansour and detained two Palestinian men Tuesday morning, security sources said.

They detained Bilal Abdul Latif Al-Ayasa, 21, and Bilal Hilal Hababa, 20, after ransacking their houses.

The sources confirmed that more than seven military vehicles had raided the village.

The raids and detentions were part of a wider campaign of raids on Palestinian residential areas across various regions of Jenin district that took place on Tuesday.

An Israeli spokeswoman confirmed the two arrests and said the men were wanted for suspicion of participating in "illegal activity."

In Burqin, Israeli forces raided the town and began firing tear-gas canisters, leading to clashes with Palestinian villagers.

In Jaba, in the southern region of Jenin district, seven military vehicles raided the town and ransacked houses.

IPS threatens penalties against administrative detainees

The Israeli Prison Services (IPS) threatened unprecedented punishments against administrative prisoners in case they declare hunger strike, Tadamun Foundation said. The Foundation's lawyer stated that the IPS threatened to take punitive measures against administrative detainees in case they implement their planned protest steps on 25 October.

The administrative detainees urged the human rights institutions to pressure the Israeli authorities to prevent any penalties against them, the lawyer added.

The penalties include denial of family visits, placing hunger strikers in isolation, depriving them of using their electrical equipment, and preventing them from using the canteen.

The administrative prisoners have announced nearly two months ago a number of protest steps by the end of this month including boycotting of Israeli courts, declaring a hunger strike for two days per week in December, boycotting prison hospitals in January, stopping taking mediation in February, and declaring hunger strike for three days per week starting March.

The administrative detainees demanded their immediate release or being charged and tried  in ordinary courts especially that they are detained administratively without charge or trial.

There are 150 administrative detainees in Israeli jails mostly liberated prisoners, 50 of them are being held at Ofer prison.

Israel to Hold Court Session for Palestinian from Jerusalem

Israeli court will hold on Wednesday, a hearing session for 19-year-old Ahmed Obaid from Jerusalem at 9 AM.

Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said in a press statement that the Palestinian Obaid, a person with special needs, was arrested in 27/8/2013 and stayed behind bars for one week before he was released.

Israeli court imposed house arrest on him in al-Issawiyeh village until the court session tomorrow 23 October.

Israeli settlers steal Palestinian olives in West Bank

On Monday morning at dawn, Israeli settlers stole ripe olives from Palestinian farms in different areas of the occupied West Bank. Meanwhile, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian citizen at a moveable military checkpoint in Nablus. Witnesses and farm owners told the Al-Quds Network that the settlers stole significant amounts of ripe olives from different farms. They also said that the settlers were hindering the arrival of many farmers who were heading to their farms in order to pick the olives.

Palestinian sources said that the settlers stole the olives from the neighbourhoods of Fara, Tal-Farata and Amateen. The sources also confirmed that the settlers were preventing farmers from approaching their farms, despite the farmers' cooperation with Israeli officials in this regard.

Meanwhile, Israeli military forces invaded the Palestinian city of Nablus and detained Aboud Soboh, a Palestinian from the neighbourhood of Ras Al-Ein.

Witnesses reported that after invading the city, Israeli forces set up moveable checkpoints and then arrested Soboh at one of these checkpoints.

Two of Soboh's brothers are currently detained in Israeli jails.

Thirty Detainees To Be released October 29

Palestinian Minister of Detainees, Issa Qaraqe’, stated Monday [October 21, 2013] that Israel will be releasing the second phase of Palestinian detainees on the agreed upon time, October 29. The release is part of an agreement to release all detainees held before 1993.

Qaraqe’ added that the release is part of incentives to ensure the continuation of direct peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. The talks were resumed, away from the media, under direct American mediation.

Israel was supposed to release all detainees, held before the first Oslo Peace Agreement was signed in 1993, but failed to do so.

After direct peace talks were resumed, Israel released, on August 14, 26 veteran detainees, held before the first Oslo Agreement, and agreed to release the second phase on November 29, a third phase on December 29, and a fourth on March 28 2014.

This was part of an agreement, mediated by the United States, to ensure the resumption of peace talks that were halted for three years due to ongoing Israeli violations, including invasions, arrests, and ongoing settlement activities.

The agreement is meant to ensure the release of all 104 detainees held by Israeli since before 1993 on four stages.

“The Israelis told us they will conduct the second phase on October 29”, Qaraqe’ said, “But they did not give us any lists yet, they also refused to allow us to participate in naming the detainees to be released”.

Despite the resumption of talks, Israel soldiers continued their violations, invasions, arrests, and the demolition of Palestinian homes and property, leading to dozens of casualties, including several fatalities.

Furthermore, extremist Israeli settlers escalated their attacks against the Palestinians, their farmlands and orchards, their homes and property, and against Islamic and Christian holy sites, and graveyards.

Army Kidnaps, Injures Palestinians in Abu Dis, Demolishes Building

Palestinian sources have reported that several Palestinians have been injured by Israeli army fire, on Monday night after midnight, while others have been kidnapped, after Israeli soldiers invaded Abu Dis town, east of occupied Jerusalem, and demolished an under construction building.

The sources said that the soldiers kidnapped several Palestinian youths, including a number of students of the Al-Quds University, while dozens have been treated for the effects of teargas inhalation, in addition to several residents who were shot by rubber-coated metal bullets.

Hani Halabiyya, spokesperson of the Popular Resistance Committee, told the Maan News Agency that several Israeli military jeeps and armored bulldozers invaded Abu Dis and started demolishing an under construction building that belong to residents Ashraf Abu Sneina and Mo’taz Bader.

The destruction of the property led to clashes with dozens of local youths near the demolished building located close to the campus of the Al-Quds University. The clashes lasted until early morning hours.

Halabiyya said that the demolished structure is a two-story building, one residential and one commercial, and that the owners received a warning last June, in which Israel alleged the construction was not licensed.

He added that the army also demolished a wall surrounding the home of resident Ammar Salama, in the same area.
Maan said that two of the kidnapped Palestinians have been identified as Amro Erekat and Ismael Halabiyya. The kidnapped residents are from Abu Dis and Al-Ezariyya.

It added that, driving a Palestinian car, undercover soldiers of the Israeli army infiltrated the area where clashes took place with the army, and kidnapped the Palestinians after violently beating them.

Soldiers fired several gas bombs, rubber-coated metal bullets, and concussion grenades, targeting the protesters, homes and the University campus causing fires in several trees.

Jerusalemites arrested following confrontations in Abu Dis

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) violently dispersed protesting young men in Abu Dis town to the east of occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday. Jerusalemite activist Anwar Badr said in a press release that IOF soldiers sealed a neighborhood in the town before razing a building that was still under construction.

He said that students in nearby schools and Quds University could not attend classes due to the closure of the road leading to their schools.

Badr said that IOF soldiers had stormed the Quds University campus after midnight yesterday to cordon off the targeted building and fired a number of teargas canisters that started fire in a number of trees.

For his part, Hani Halabiya, the spokesman for popular resistance committees, said that IOF soldiers arrested four young men in the confrontations.

He said that owners of the demolished building were notified of the intention to raze it last June at the pretext of lack of construction permit.

Palestinian Killed By Israeli Army Fire Near Ramallah

Palestinian sources have reported that a young Palestinian man was shot and killed during armed clashes with Israeli soldiers in Kufur Ni’ma village, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, has reported that Mohammad ‘Aasy, 24 years of age, is one of its fighters.

The Israeli military said that Al-‘Aasy was hiding in a cave near the village, and that he exchanged fire with the soldiers who eventually shot him dead. The army did not report any casualties among its soldiers.

Israeli sources said that the soldiers invaded Ni’ma village during late night hours, in an attempt to kidnap Palestinian resistance fighters, and that one of the fighters escaped, but the army pursed him and managed to arrest him.

The sources added that Al-‘Aasy was shot dead after he entered a cave near Ni’ma village, and that he opened fire at the soldiers who managed to surround him, and killed him several hours later.

The Israeli army said soldiers managed to arrest one Palestinian, and took him to an interrogation facility.

Eyewitnesses said that more than 15 Israeli military vehicles, and a military bulldozer, invaded the area, imposed curfew forcing the residents under house arrest, and initiated a search campaign in an area that became isolated by the Annexation Wall.

The eyewitnesses that that, approximately at seven in the morning, soldiers kidnapped several Palestinians, some identified as Mohammad Ibrahim Nasr, William Abu ‘Aady, and Abdullah Suleiman, all from Ni’ma village, and took them to a military base in the area.

Clashes took place between the invading soldiers and dozens of local youths who hurled stones and empty bottles at them, while the army fired gas bombs, concussion grenades, and rubber-coated metal bullets at the residents and several homes in the area.

Soldiers also prevented the residents, including schoolchildren, from leaving their homes, and completely isolated the area.

Local sources in Bil'in village, have reported that several Palestinians, including a two-month old infant, suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

They added, that dozens of soldiers invaded the village, and clashes with local youths.

The Palestinian patient prisoners' plight in Israeli jails

Hashim Mohammed Yasser Taha, 24, from al-Khalil, was a student when he attacked two Israeli occupation soldiers stationed at the Ibrahimi mosque doors in 2007. Hashim's sister told Ahrar center for prisoners' studies that his family was informed at first of his martyrdom after being shot by Israeli soldiers at the Ibrahimi mosque.

However, eyewitnesses had confirmed that he was still alive but bleeding, she noted.

The Israeli soldiers interrogated him after being stripped naked while bleeding on the ground, his sister added, saying that many TV channels have broadcasted the occupation soldiers’ violent treatment towards him.

The Israeli soldiers refused all attempts to transfer him to hospital for treatment, she continued. Hashim fell into a coma that lasted for four days, before being transferred to Hadassah hospital where he spent more than two months.

He underwent several surgeries where large amounts of his intestines were removed.

After a little improvement in his health, he was moved to Ramle prison hospital where he spent a whole year and two months suffering too many health problems, Um Muhanned added to Ahrar center.

Despite his difficult health situation, the Israeli authorities sentenced him to 13 years plus 5 years suspended, in addition to a fine of five thousand shekels.

For his part, Fouad Khuffash the director of the Center stated that Hashim is being continuously moved since his arrest from Hadassah hospital to Ramle prison hospital and from Be'er Sheva to Negev prisons with complete disregard to his health.

Um Mohanned stated that Hashim's family is visiting him regularly, calling on human rights institutions to intensify their efforts for the release of the patient prisoners.

The family said that they live tough moments during Eid in the absence of their youngest son.

Hashim has continued with his secondary and university from his cell studies despite his suffering.

Clashes in Silwan after Israeli guard stabbed

Clashes broke Monday evening in the East Jerusalem area of Silwan between young Palestinian men and Israeli forces after an Israeli security guard was stabbed in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood.

Director of Silwan’s Wadi Hilweh Information Center Jawad Siyam told Ma’an that Israeli forces and intelligence officers stormed several neighborhoods in Silwan after a security guard stationed at the entrance to the illegal "House of Honey" settlement outpost was stabbed. Young Palestinians confronted the Israeli forces and fierce clashes erupted.

According to Siyam, Israeli forces fired stun grenades “haphazardly” at homes and stores in the town. A ten-year-old boy, Luay Hammuda Siyam, was hurt by shrapnel from a stun grenade while he sat in a store run by his father in Beer Ayyoub neighborhood.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli forces briefly detained seven young Palestinian men and beat them before they were freed.

Israeli forces detained 28-year-old Muhammad Hani Siyam.

Islamic Bloc launches a campaign in support of prisoners

The Islamic Bloc at the Arab American University in Jenin has launched a campaign in solidarity with the prisoners' issue under the title "the prisoners in our eyes", starting from Monday until the 24th of October. The campaign includes brochures and magazines that highlight the prisoners' plight and sacrifices in Israeli jails, and banners calling for prisoners' freedom.

The Islamic Bloc stated that this campaign came in light of its efforts to activate the prisoners' issue amid the Palestinian people's different segments.

The bloc called on the university students to increase their support for the prisoners in Israeli jails to live up to their sacrifices.

A number of the Arab American University's students are still detained in Israeli jails including members of the Islamic Bloc.

Israeli Trap to Arrests Palestinian Patients

Israeli forces arrested 14 Palestinians at the Beit Hanoun crossing, the so-called “Erez” crossing, since the beginning of 2013. The Israeli forces exploit the need of Palestinians to travel and use crossings as traps, Al Mezan center for human rights reported. The Beit Hanoun crossing (Erez) is located in the far north of the Gaza Strip between the blockaded Gaza and Israel. The crossing, which is under full Israeli control, is dedicated to pedestrians, trucks, diplomats, foreign missions, journalists, workers, Palestinian merchants and other people who have permission to cross into Israel. It is is currently used to transport Palestinian patients and injured for medical treatment to Jordan, Israel and the West Bank.

According to monitoring and documentation of the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, since the beginning of 2013, Israeli forces have arrested 14 Palestinians at the Erez crossing. Of these 14, three were patients and four were patient escorts. There were also two businessmen arrested.

The Israeli forces continue to use crossings as traps to arrest Palestinians, exploiting the need to travel. Israeli forces make use of its tightened closure of the Gaza Strip to humiliate Palestinians, arrest them, or urge them to collaborate.

Al Mezan calls on the international community to promptly intervene to stop the Israeli grave and systematic violations of IHL and human rights principles, ensure access to health care of Palestinian patients.

109 persons of prisoners' families visit their relatives in Nafha prison

Nearly 109 persons of prisoners' families, including 32 children under the age of ten visited their relatives in Nafha prison on Monday. The Information Officer at the International Committee of the Red Cross Nasser Al-Najjar told PIC's correspondent that 109 relatives of 49 prisoners have crossed Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing to visit their sons in Nafha prison.

The occupation authorities have allowed family visits for Gazan prisoners after 6 years of ban following the agreement signed between the Israeli Prison Service and the Captive Movement that ended the Dignity Strike in May.

IOF kidnap nine Palestinians in W. Bank raids

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnapped at dawn Monday nine Palestinian citizens during raids on homes in different areas of the West Bank. Local sources reported that the IOF stormed Ras Al-Ein neighborhood in Nablus city and kidnapped a young man named Aboud Sobh from his home, adding that the IOF took Sobh to Hawara military post south of Nablus.

Sobh is the brother of two prisoners in Israeli jails.

The IOF also raided homes in the eastern area of Nablus and the environs of Balata refugee camp and fired some stun grenades in alleys and streets before encircling and storming an apartment building on Osaira street.

The IOF also kidnapped two other young men identified as Jaser Kadri and Hilal Adel after they were chased by Jewish settlers from Maskiot settlement near Ein Al-Hilweh district to the north of the Jordan Valley.

In Al-Khalil, five young men were taken prisoners during violent raids in Bani Na'im town, east of the city.

Another man was also kidnapped by the IOF in Beit Awwa town, west of Al-Khalil.

Meanwhile, the IOF set up a checkpoint on Halhoul bridge to the north of Al-Khalil and embarked on searching Palestinian vehicles and passengers.

Soldiers Kidnap A Palestinian In Nablus

Dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded a number of neighborhoods in the northern West bank city of Nablus, broke into several homes, and searched them, before kidnapping one youth.

Local sources have reported that the soldiers invaded Ras Al-Ein neighborhood, and kidnapped a young man identified as Abboud Soboh, after violently broke into his home and searching it before talking him to the Huwwara military base, south of the city.

The sources said that Soboh has two brothers who are currently imprisoned by the Israeli occupation army.

Soldiers also invaded the eastern area of Nablus, and the Balata refugee camp, fired concussion grenades and sound bombs, before surrounding a residential building in the center of the city.

Later on, soldiers installed a roadblock at the entrance of Beta town, south of Nablus, stopped dozens of vehicles, and inspected the ID cards of dozens of youths.

On Sunday evening, soldiers closed the western area of the town, and conducted military searches allegedly looking for Palestinian youths who hurled stones at settlers’ vehicles.

On Sunday, soldiers kidnapped three Palestinians in Bethlehem, and the Deheisha refugee camp, south of the city.

Palestinian prisoner suffers heart attack

Emad Asfour, 45, has suffered a heart attack in an Israeli jail three days ago and his condition is still unstable, his family said. Ali Asfour, the prisoner’s brother, said that Emad, who hails from Yabad village to the south of Jenin, was in danger in light of the Israeli medical neglect of his condition.

He said in an appeal on Saturday that he was informed by the Israeli prison administration that his brother had suffered an acute heart attack and that he was still in a difficult health condition.

Ali said that his brother suffers from diabetes and hypertension and other disease.

He said that all family members were concerned that Emad’s life was in danger, adding that he had two and a half years left of his 15-year sentence.

Ali appealed to all medical institutions to intervene and extend necessary treatment for his brother, adding that Emad was married and had two children.

Ali asked human rights groups to investigate the spread of heart diseases among Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

IPS transfers hunger striker to Ramle clinic

The Israeli prison service (IPS) transferred hunger striker Akram Al-Fasisi from Ofer jail to Ramle prison infirmary. Lawyer Jawad Bulous, the director of the legal affairs department at the Palestinian prisoner’s society, said in a statement on Sunday that the IPS transferred the Palestinian prisoner after his health condition deteriorated.

Fasisi has been on hunger strike since 29/9/2013.

IOF soldiers round up ten Palestinians

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) rounded up ten Palestinian citizens in various West Bank areas at dawn Sunday. Palestinian police sources in Al-Khalil told the PIC reporter that IOF soldiers arrested Ala’a Abu Khalaf, 24, from his home in the Old City of Al-Khalil after searching it.

They said that the soldiers arrested another young man, Rashed Manasra, from Bani Naim village in Al-Khalil at a roadblock, adding that he is a student at Najah university in Nablus.

The sources said that the soldiers served a summons to Musab Shawar after searching his family home, adding that IOF patrols raided the towns of Edhna and Dura in addition to Tabaka village.

In Bethlehem, IOF soldiers detained three young men, one from the city itself, another from Al-Khader village, and the third from Doheisha refugee camp after searching their homes.

Eyewitnesses said that IOF soldiers accompanied by intelligence officers, stormed the Rujaib valley to the east of Nablus and served summonses to a number of citizens. They said that the soldiers raided the villages of Beita and Hawara to the south of Nablus.

Local sources in Til village, south of Nablus, said that IOF soldiers rounded up four young men while on their way to 1948 occupied Palestine.

Tension running high in Israeli jail

Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli Raymond jail said that tension was prevailing in the prison due to threats by its director to storm its wards. They said that the prisoners refused the threat and said that they would confront the storming of their rooms.

They said that the prison administration isolated prisoner Mohammed Abu Khatla from Gaza Strip for one week and deprived him of family visits for two months.

Ahrar center urges Red Cross to provide protection for families of detainees

Ahrar center for prisoners' studies and human rights appealed to the Red Cross, the only international body that organizes visits for the families of Palestinian prisoners, to provide full protection for the relatives of detainees during visits in Israeli jails. Director of the center Fouad Al-Khafsh said in a press release that the violations committed by the Israeli prison authority are grave and have escalated recently

Khafsh added that many families of prisoners were exposed to considerable harassments or detained during visits in Israeli jails.

The human rights activist stressed that the role of the Red Cross should not only be confined to the scheduling and organization of visits but also to providing full protection for the families until their arrival at the Israeli occupied territories and detention centers.

He affirmed that the Israeli violations such as detaining the relatives of prisoners under extreme sun heat for long hours and strip searching them before visits are committed in full view of the Red Cross employees.

He called on the Red Cross to reconsider its policies and follow new ways more respectful for human rights.

Hamas movement has renewed its adherence to freeing all Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails and to liberating the entire land of historical Palestine. On the second anniversary of Wafa al-Ahrar deal, Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, a member of Hamas Political Bureau, stated that the deal reflected the Palestinian resistance's will to liberate the prisoners after five years of negotiations and pressures, saying that Shalit's capture damaged the Israeli army’s reputation.

He opined that the exchange deal was a blessed victory for al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, and a failure to the Israeli authorities.

Meanwhile, the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) stated that capturing Israeli soldiers is the effective way and strategy to liberate Palestinian prisoners, saying that Wafa al-Ahrar deal was a reliable example to break the Israeli shackles.

In a press release, the PRC called for a national strategy to liberate the prisoners from Israeli jails, and a national program that protects the Palestinian constants and resistance option.

The Palestinian people marked on Friday the second anniversary of the first phase of Wafa al-Ahrar deal that was signed between Hamas movement and Israeli occupation under Egyptian mediation in 2011, where 1047 Palestinian prisoners were released in the deal in exchange for the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

The Hamas Movement said that the issue of the Palestinian prisoners is one of its top priorities and pledged to keep using all means possible to liberate them from Israeli jails. This came in a press release issued on Friday on the second anniversary of the prisoner swap deal, which led to the release of more than one thousand Palestinian prisoners in exchange for an Israeli soldier.

"When the Zionist occupation thinks it is able to extinguish the flame of the Palestinian resistance through its crimes, terrorism and blockade, the men of resistance creatively launch operations curbing and breaking its arrogance and its myth of the so-called invincible army," Hamas stated.

Hamas highlighted that the resistance in all its forms, especially the armed resistance, is the only strategic choice capable of deterring the occupation, restoring the usurped rights and liberating the land.

The Movement appealed to human rights groups and the world's free people to expose Israel's violations against the prisoners in its jails and pressure for their release.

IOF suppress weekly peaceful marches of W. Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) quelled the peaceful marches held on Friday afternoon in different West Bank areas against settlement activities and in support of Jerusalem, the Aqsa Mosque and the prisoners. In Bethlehem, the IOF violently attacked the Masarah village march which was dedicated this week to supporting the Aqsa Mosque and detained a number of protestors.

Many protestors also got wounded when the IOF suppressed the march held in Bil'in village against the segregation wall and settlement activities.

A young photojournalist named Majdi Abu Rahma was taken prisoner as he was taking photos during the march.

Participants in the march carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans calling for restoring national unity, resisting the occupation and releasing the prisoners.

The IOF also clashed with the protestors in the Friday marches organized in the villages of Nabi Saleh and Kafr Qaddum.

Many protests suffered tear gas injuries during the clashes.

During the events, the IOF closed the road leading to Nabi Saleh village and chased protestors to arrest them.

Settlers Occupy, Fence, 20 Dunams Of Palestinian Lands in Nablus

A group of armed extremist Israeli settlers illegally occupied 20 Dunams (4.94 Acres) of Palestinian lands that belong to residents of Aseera Al-Qebliyya village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus. Ghassan Daghlas, in charge of Israeli Settlements File at the Palestinian Authority in the northern part of the West Bank, has reported that the settlers fenced the lands and started leveling and bulldozing them.

He added that the settlers also installed a number of electric poles. The lands belong to residents Issa Suleiman Makhlouf, and Mohammad Suleiman Makhlouf.

On Friday evening, Israeli soldiers kidnapped one resident identified as Mustafa Saleh Qabha, 43, from Toura Al-Gharbiyya village, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin.

His family said that the soldiers invaded their orchard, near the Annexation Wall, as family members were picking their olive trees, and kidnapped him before taking him to an unknown destination.

IOF arrests Palestinian farmer in Jenin village

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stormed on Friday night Tora village, south of Jenin, and arrested a Palestinian farmer while tending to his land near the Apartheid Wall. The citizen Mustafa Saleh Qubaha, 43, was arrested for approaching the Apartheid Wall, local sources said. He was then transferred to Salem military base north of Jenin.

The sources pointed out that the occupation forces stationed at Tora’s entrance deliberately provoke Palestinian farmers and prevent them from entering their lands especially during olive harvest.
