The London-based Arab Organization for Human Rights (AOHR) has strongly denounced the recent Israeli prison order against Sheikh Ra'ed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied lands, on allegations of his incitement to violence and racism.
Sheikh Salah, who was sentenced in connection with a khutba (sermon) he delivered in 2007 in Occupied Jerusalem, will start serving his 11-month prison term in November, according to the court ruling issued against him last Tuesday.
In a press release on Wednesday, the AOHR stated that the charges that had been leveled against Sheikh Salah were part of ongoing Israeli measures targeting him for his prominent role in defending the Aqsa Mosque against Israel's Judaization plans.
The British group pointed out that it was not sufficient for Israel to prosecute Sheikh Salah at home, but its Zionist lobby in Britain managed in 2011 to extract a verdict from the home office (interior ministry) ordering his deportation on allegations that his presence in London was against the public interest.
It added that at the time, Sheikh Salah was arrested after his refusal to yield to the expulsion order and then he engaged in a legal battle for a whole year before he achieved a court victory over the Israeli lobby and its supporters at the Upper Tribunal in London.

An Israeli military court has extended the administrative detention of Palestinian prisoner Ibrahim al-Suwaiti, 38, for the fourth consecutive time.
Specialist in prisoner affairs Riyadh al-Ashqar said that prisoner Suwaiti received an administrative prison extension for another three months, with no indictment, pointing out that the prisoner had already spent 11 years in jail intermittently, including six years in administrative detention.
The prisoner, who was redetained last time in October 2014, suffers from health problems in his chest and thus is transferred to hospital every once in a while, according to Ashqar.
He affirmed that the Israeli jailers had offered last month to exile Suwaiti to Ariha (Jericho) or Ramallah in exchange for ending his administrative detention, but he refused and insisted on releasing him and sending him back home in al-Khalil.

“This is one of history’s rarest, and indeed most notorious, instances of field executions carried out on account of people’s intentions rather than deeds,” an activist was quoted by the PIC as stating.
“Every time the occupation soldiers take away the life of a Palestinian youth they just place a knife next to his/her body, claim he/she attempted to stab them, and plan for the next murder. The same clichéd scenario has been going on and on for months now,” she added.

Israeli Occupation Authority (IOA) issued a sentence of eleven month of imprisonment against the head of Islamic Movement in 1948 Occupied Palestine Sheikh Raed Salah.
Local sources revealed that the sentence starts on November 15 after Sheikh Salah turns himself in to the Israeli police. The sentence ended a long journey of trials on what has become known as the file of “Wadi al-Joze” which dates back to 2007 on the charge of incitement against Israel.
The Israeli prosecution demanded a sentence of 18-40 months of imprisonment against Salah for incitement against Israeli occupation in a Friday sermon he delivered in Wadi al-Joze in Occupied Jerusalem in 2007.
Raed Salah: Israeli court ruling will not deter us
Head of the Islamic Movement within the Green Line Sheikh Raed Salah stressed that the Israeli occupation of al-Aqsa Mosque will certainly come to an end.
He affirmed that Israeli repressive measures including sentencing him to 11 months in prison will never prevent Palestinian defense of the Mosque.
Sheikh Salah’s statements came shortly after an Israeli court handed him an 11-month jail sentence on Tuesday evening.
Israel’s threats to outlaw the Islamic Movement will never succeed to stop our defense of al-Aqsa Mosque, he added.
Al-Aqsa is an Islamic, Arab, and Palestinian property, Sheikh Salah stressed.
He also pointed to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s recent statement, considering it a failed attempt to legalize Israeli occupation of al-Aqsa.
Earlier Tuesday, an Israeli court sentenced the leader of the Islamic Movement within the Green Line to 11 months in jail on charges of "incitement".
The Israeli prosecution had originally demanded that the court should sentence Salah to a minimum of 16 months and a maximum of 42 months.
The case against Salah was initiated after a sermon he delivered in occupied Jerusalem in 2007 in which he decried "Israeli racist policies in Jerusalem," and demanded that the Israeli government end its ban on Muslims to worship freely at Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
The Islamic Movement strongly condemned the Israeli court’s order, considering it a political decision.
