The Israeli Occupation Authorities (IOA) claimed Monday the arrest of a “Hamas cell” that was behind the Itamar shooting attack over the weekend during which an Israeli military officer and his wife were shot dead.
According to Israeli media sources, the cell constitutes of five persons who are all residents of the West Bank city of Nablus.
The five young men, including the cell leader and the two who fired at the Israelis, were nabbed over the weekend during an Israeli arrest campaign in the city, the sources added.
The leader of the group, according to the Israeli sources, was identified as Ragheb Ahmad Muhammed Alawi (37).
According to the Shin Bet, he recruited the others and gave them weapons to carry out the shooting attack.
All five were said to have been involved in other attacks as well, the sources claimed.
Another member of the group was arrested Sunday when undercover Israeli forces entered the hospital in Nablus where he was receiving care. Palestinians uploaded a video to the internet showing the violent arrest.
All the five suspects are affiliated to Hamas movement, the Shin Bit added.
Israeli analysts charged that the cell arrest is linked to the security coordination between Israeli and PA forces.

Mahmoud and his wife Sireen, married just three months at the time of Mahmoud’s arrest in Jordan by Israeli authorities.
Sireen Frarjarh and her husband Mahmoud Abujoad Frarjah met eyes numerous times during this past Tuesday’s trial in an Ofer military court hearing. The trial was to determine if the young, newly married Palestinian man from the Deishah refugee camp in Bethlehem, would be held in detention until the conclusion of his court proceedings. The judgement, to continue Mahmoud’s detention was passed down by the blind eyes of the Israeli ‘justice’ system for an alleged crime over a year old.
On September 9th, Mahmoud was arrested whilst traveling to Jordan on a family holiday. He was blindfolded and detained for 8 hours, during which he was denied water, food and toilet facilities. He was charged with throwing stones at a demonstration a year ago near Rachel’s tomb in Bethlehem. Mahmoud had his initial hearing on Wednesday 16th September, which was then postponed until Sunday, September 20th. And although the judge ruled that Mahmoud should be released on September 29th, he subsequently refused his release.
The backdrop of this case is key. Minimization: Israel committed a human rights atrocity, an international law destroying massacre which claimed the lives of nearly 2,200 Palestinians, nearly a quarter of them innocent children during a military operation handily termed Protective Edge. (To date, no Israeli military or governmental personnel have sat in a courtroom, legs in chains, as were Mahmoud’s, and faced a judge for these heinous, reprehensible acts.) Maximization: Thanks to new legislation which perpetuates the critically and intentionally lopsided imbalance in Israeli courts for those on the wrong end of the class divide, Palestinian (alleged) stone throwers are more likely to face detention without bail until the end of their court proceedings. These regulations are applicable to Palestinian children as young as 12 years old.
Collective punishment was the overall tone of Military Judge Lt. Colonol Shmuel Keidar in his decision in this past Tuesday’s trial to accept the appeal of the military prosecution against the decision to release Mahmoud on bail, “With the security reality that to my sorrow exists in the area, I believe that the court can deviate from the micro-considerations regarding the defendant himself and yes to considerations of general deterrent, the touch considering the wide population in the area. Because of these things I believe it is not wrong to use the the reason of general deterrent straightaway or for detention and should express it as much as the situation needs. For all of these reasons I accept to keep him until the end of proceedings.”
The micro-considerations Keider is so cavalierly referring to here is that the alleged witness to the stone throwing was one man who was arrested and during interrogation gave twenty Palestinian’s names to investigators, Mahmoud’s being one of them. With such baseless evidence, the Keider is willing to continue Mahmoud’s imprisonment until the trial’s conclusion; likely a considerable amount of time.
The micro-considerations being that Mahmoud is of no security risk and is being held and tried on a basis so flimsy it wouldn’t get so much as a peek inside a courtroom in most places the globe over. In the end, Mahmoud is yet another young Palestinian who will fall under the weight of the broken wheel of the Israeli ‘justice’ system.
The fact alone that Israeli lawmakers can seriously argue for harsh sentence structures for Palestinian stone throwers, this is an act of resistance to an internationally noted criminal six decade military occupation, whilst silently they make space between each passing day and the dark hallway of massacre and subjugation left in their wake, is an utter absurdity.
In the end Mahmoud will possibly face the same road most Palestinians in Israeli courts face. In order to avoid languishing in Israeli prison for up to two years while court proceedings drag on to the punchline crescendo of a trial which ends, almost across the board, badly for every Palestinian enduring it- Mahmoud can plead guilty and take a deal giving him several months imprisonment. And it makes it that much easier the next time Mahmoud, or any Palestinian for that matter, is arrested to show a history of supposed criminal behavior with previous guilty pleas and sentences served.
The case of Mahmoud Abujoad Frarjah is another sounding of the death knell for any kind of justice being seen for the Palestinian people.

With one of his hands cuffed to the hospital bed, the child Essa Mouti lies in bed at Hadasa hospital; his childhood was not enough to protect him from being under heavy guard of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF), and to allow him family visits except for his mother. In a phone call with the PIC, Essa, 13, said in a low pained voice: "I am in severe pain! I cannot breathe from the feeling of pain!"
Essa was deliberately medically neglected until his right leg's condition worsened to the extent that it requires partial or complete amputation.
Shooting and dragging
Essa tells the story of his detention saying that he went to play with his younger brother in a park near the northern entrance of Bethlehem, then severe clashes erupted at the place in which he lost track of his brother, when he went to look for him, he was shot by an Israeli soldier from a military tower with four bullets in his legs which made him unable to move.
Then the occupation soldiers immediately attacked him, dragged him into a nearby army camp in a violent manner, tearing his clothes and inquiring him about the reason of his being in the place despite his bleeding wound.
Despite the painful situation he was suffering from he replied to the soldier's shouting at him with: "who are you to dare shout at me?!"
He continued saying that: "after they pressured me to admit what I did not commit, they called the ambulance, transferred me to hospital and told me that I was under arrest".
He added: "I am suffering from severe pain in my right leg, waiting for partial or complete amputation; a decision that the doctors are insisting on as they said that my leg could not be treated".
He concluded saying: "My message to the world: do not deal with those monsters!"
Grieving mother
Ragdha abd-Rabbu, Essa's mother, asked: "What is the fault of this child to be in this level of suffering? And what is my fault as a mother feeling all the pain and the shattered psychological condition seeing my child suffer? Let the entire world see our children and their fault of playing! Where is the safety we and our children are living in?!"
With regard to the follow- ups on the case, Essa's mother said that: "the head of the Prisoners' Affairs Committee is the only one following up on my son's case, and there are no communications with me except for a few reporters, beside some promises about trying to release my son, which did not materialize until this moment, and finding solutions other than the amputation of his leg".
The mother confirmed that: "the condition of Essa's leg is very bad so there is no solution except for the amputation, as doctors said".
Israeli court refuses to release the child
The head of the Prisoners' Affairs Committee of Bethlehem, Munqeth Abu Atwan said that: "the (Israeli) occupation courts refused to release the child, although the prisoners committee's lawyer, Tareq Barghoth, appealed to the court more than once. This makes it clear that the Israeli courts are determined to inflict the greatest possible physical damage on this child although they know about his difficult medical condition".
Abu Atwan pointed out that: "there was no decision to treat the child from the beginning, so it is clear that medical neglect is the occupation policy".
He stressed that the Israeli occupation authorities deliberately did not provide the child with treatment, which worsened his condition. Pointing out that the doctors insist on the amputation, he said that his parents refuse in the hope to find other alternatives to provide treatment for the injured child without amputating his leg.
Abu Atwan ended his talk saying: "The occupation authorities want to amputate the child's leg to send a horror message to the Palestinian children and youngsters that anyone tries to express rejection of the occupation would be doomed to arrest or amputation of one of his body parts or get killed".
