A source at the center told WAFA that a settler’s armored vehicle ran over a 10-year-old child in a deliberate hit and run assault while passing near the settlement outpost of ‘Beit Yehonatan’ (Jonathan's House), built illegally on Silwan’s land.
The child reportedly sustained fractures in his hands and was transferred to hospital for treatment; his condition was described as "moderate".

In related news, Israeli forces kidnapped three Palestinians from districts of Bethlehem, Tubas and Hebron, according to reports by security sources and the Palestinian Prisoners' Society.
Forces raided the neighborhood of al-‘Attan Street, in Bethlehem city, where they abducted a 25-year-old Palestinian after breaking into and violently searching his home.
Similar raids were conducted in Wadi Abu Freiha, in Beit Sahour, and Jabal al-Mawaleh neighborhood, in Bethlehem. However, no abductions were reported.
Meanwhile, forces kidnapped a 27-year-old Palestinian after breaking into his home in Tubas.
Forces also raided the Old City of Hebron, where they took a 30-year-old Palestinian.
Furthermore, WAFA reports that Israeli authorities have decided to close al-Jalama checkpoint for three days, over the two-day Jewish New Year holiday.
As a result, Palestinians from the occupied West Bank and those living in Israel will be denied access to Israel and the West Bank respectively.
The Al-Jalama checkpoint is located between the occupied West Bank and Israel, near Al- Jalama village, to the north of Jenin.
Israeli forces enlarged the checkpoint and installed an additional security gate on Palestinian-owned land seized from Al-Jalama residents.
The checkpoint will be reopened on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Israeli occupation authorities renewed the sick detainee Nabil Natsheh's administrative detention for six months for the fourth time in a row, Palestine Center for Prisoners' Studies said on Thursday. Spokesman for the Center Riad al-Ashqar confirmed that Natsheh, 53, was arrested on March 2013 and held in administrative detention for six months before being renewed for three times.
He was expected to be released on Wednesday; however the Israeli court renewed his administrative detention for the fourth time in spite of his serious health condition, al-Ashqar added.
Natsheh suffers cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes in addition to pains in his spinal cord. He is also experiencing movement problems due to nerves’ problems. Despite his difficult health situation, he did not receive any medical treatment in Israeli jails.
Al-Ashqar warned that Natsheh’s continued detention will lead to serious health complications especially that his chemical treatment has been stopped since his detention.
He held the occupation fully responsible for the safety of the sick prisoner Natsheh, calling for his immediate release.
The center also called on Doctors without Borders, World Health Organization, and the Red Cross, and all international and human rights institutions to pressure the occupation authorities to release him before it is too late.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Thursday kidnapped three Palestinian young men from their homes in Bethlehem, Tubas, Al-Khalil and established makeshift checkpoints in different West Bank areas. Local sources told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that the IOF kidnapped 25-year-old Fouad Abu Jalgheef after ransacking his house in Bethlehem city.
The invading troops also raided several houses in Beit Sahour town and Jabal Al-Mawaleh town in the central area of Bethlehem, with no reported detentions.
In Tubas, another young man identified as Mahmoud Fayed, 27, was also taken prisoner after raiding his house.
The IOF also detained a citizen in Al-Khalil city during raids on several houses.
Eyewitnesses reported that troops aboard military vehicles patrolled streets in Al-Khalil and stormed homes in the Old City before detaining a young man named Ziyad Al-Batesh and taking him to an unknown place.
The IOF also patrolled and raided several areas of Jenin, without making arrests.

Today (sept 23) at Salaymeh checkpoint in Hebron, Israeli forces fired 29 rounds of tear gas and 5 stun grenades at children going to school.
The morning started off peaceful as children passed through the checkpoint but as word spread that two Palestinians had been murdered by the Israeli army the night before, tensions began to rise quickly. Israeli forces had a clear presence at the checkpoint from the start. A few small stones were thrown by a small number of young boys, but landed nowhere near the checkpoint. Three Israeli Border police proceeded to fire the first round of tear gas at the children. In total, 29 tear gas canisters and 5 stun grenades were fired. This was extremely excessive and unnecessary as the Israeli border police were clearly in no danger. Two ambulances were called to the scene due to the immense amounts of tear gas fired and a Palestinian teacher stated that 30 school children and 15 teachers suffered from excessive tear gas inhalation. International Solidarity Movement (ISM) activists then left Salaymeh checkpoint and headed over to Qeitun checkpoint around 5 minutes away as they heard the firing of tear gas. At Qeitun checkpoint clashes had erupted and were underway between unarmed Palestinian youth and Israeli forces. An excessive amount of tear gas was used in addition to rubber coated steel bullets and stun grenades. A small group of older boys were throwing stones but they did not manage to reach the Israeli forces. However, the commander insisted on firing despite the presence of the many young children, some as young as 8 |
years old, in front of them attempting to get to school. Later on the Israeli forces threw stun grenades and brutally grabbed and arrested two young Palestinian boys between the ages of 14 and 15 years old. One of the boys whilst in a headlock and handcuffed was punched several times in the side. ISM activists ran up to ask the boys their names and correct ages but the Israeli forces were very hostile. They were both forced through the turnstiles and were kept at the checkpoint for a few minutes before Israeli forces marched them to the police station near the Ibrahimi mosque.

Tension has been running high in Israeli jails on Tuesday after Israel’s systematic medical negligence left a Palestinian sick detainee one-eyed and in the wake of Israel’s arbitrary issue of a series of punitive measures. Alarm bells have been raised over the exacerbating health status of Palestinian Prisoner Mer’i Hussein Qubha, sentenced to 15 years in prison, after he lost sight in his right eye due to deliberate medical negligence in Israeli prisons.
The prisoner launched, in a press appeal on Tuesday, distress signals over his critical health conditions and spoke out against the apathy maintained by the Israeli prison service (IPS) vis-à-vis his case.
He further appealed to the human rights institutions to step up pressure on the IPS so as to provide him with the urgent medical check-ups before it is too late.
Prisoner Hussein has yet to wait for four more years in Israeli jails to restore his freedom and seek a vision rehabilitation of his own, after he has been locked-up for 11 years behind Israeli bars.
Meanwhile, tension has been running high in the Ofer jail as a new chain of collective punitive measures has been issued by the Israeli prison authorities.
According to a statement released by the prisoners’ and ex-prisoners committee on Tuesday, the sanctions include the delay of the arrival of the canteen funds, bad food and bread quality, systematic medical negligence, and abrupt overnight searches.
The statement spoke out against Israel’s violation of prisoners’ rights to family visits as a psycho-physical torture tactic aiming at dampening the detainees’ spirits. At least 45 visit permits have been cancelled by the IPS last month.
The most serious of all measures is to have banned Palestinians’ access to pro-Palestine newspapers and TV channels as part of a tacit brainwash-tactic aiming at keeping them at bay from the current political and international updates.
The prisoners’ committee warned of the remarkable deterioration in prisoner Ibrahim Abdullah Mustafa’s health status. Ibrahim, 30, is sentenced to 15 years in Ashkelon prison and has been diagnosed with kidney and cardio-vascular diseases, along with high cholesterol, blood pressure, and neurological diseases, forcing the sick prisoner to consume 38 pills per day.
The report further raised alarm bells over the deadly diseases and anti-hygienic health circumstances wrought on scores of Ashkelon prisoners.
The state of affairs has been no less tense in the Israeli Etzion jail, to which at least 53 Palestinian captives, mostly from the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil, have been dragged.
Lawyer of the Palestinian Prisoner Society, Jaqueline Frarja, quoted the Etzion detainees as strongly condemning the mistreatment and deprivation they have been made to endure in the detention center amid an unprecedented upsurge in the arbitrary mass-abduction campaigns carried out by the Israeli occupation troops on a daily basis.
Tainted smells, dirty clothes, rotten food, heavy beating, and deliberate medical neglect are instances of IPS measures, among many other castigatory measures, wrought on Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
The Palestinian captives held in Israeli prisons have appealed to human rights groups, nationwide and overseas, to immediately step in and pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to set them free before it is too late.

Israeli soldiers kidnapped a Palestinian from the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and invaded various nearby communities.
The army also issued a military order preventing Muslim worshipers from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque for two days.
The Palestinian TV said the soldiers kidnapped Mohammad Younis Rabba’, 45, at a roadblock installed near Hebron city. The kidnapped man is from Thaheriyya town, south of the city.
The soldiers also invaded Sa’ir town, north of the city, broke into several homes and violently searched them, causing excessive property damage.
A number of roadblocks have also been installed in areas, north of Hebron city, and the main entrances of Halhoul, Sa’ir, and Doura, while the soldiers stopped and searched dozens of cars while investigating the ID cards of the passengers.
In related news, the army closed the Ibrahimi Mosque to all Muslim worshipers, for two days, to allow Israel’s settlers to celebrate the Jewish New Year.
On Tuesday at night, soldiers detained a young Palestinian man at the Dotan military roadblock, south of Jenin, and released him several hours later after confiscating his ID card and ordering to head to a nearby base for interrogation.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers interrogated Mohannad Hatem ‘Amarna, who was trying to cross the roadblock with his child, on their way to the Tulkarem Hospital.

Arab Member of the Israeli Knesset Taleb Abu Arar has denounced Israel’s abduction of a Palestinian lady just a couple of days after she gave birth to her baby in Soroka Hospital, in Beer Sheva. The captured woman, mother of six Palestinian children, was rounded up by the Israeli occupation patrols under the pretext of being an illegal resident of the 1948 occupied Palestine.
Abu Arar, in a letter he dispatched to the Israeli ministers of the interior and minister of internal security on Tuesday, described the arrest as “an act of moral turpitude.” The incarcerated lady delivered her six kids in Soroka hospital in Beer Sheva, south of the 1948 occupied Palestine, before she was nabbed in that very place a few days ago under flimsy pretexts, he added in a press release.
The Israeli occupation authorities have turned down the detainee’s appeals to work out her residency and identity status after a temporary residency rule, barring Gazan and West Banker women married to Palestinian “citizens of Israel” from acquiring citizenship, was swiftly issued by the occupation government and closed all gates before the mother.
MK Abu Arar called for an immediate halt to such arbitrary measures and for restoring the lady’s freedom so that she can go back to her newly-born baby.

They also raided Aida refugee camp to the north of the city, where they abducted one Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking his home.
Israeli troops also raided the neighborhood of al-Kharruba, in Jenin, taking one Palestinian after storming his home in a similar fashion.
Using canine dogs, troops also raided al-Marah neighborhood, where they kidnapped a 17-year-old Palestinian after breaking into his home.
In the Ramallah district, troops took into custody a student of Birzeit University, who is also a resident of Jenin, after breaking into the school's dormitory, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Society.
Furthermore, in the Jericho district, troops abducted a Palestinian from Aqbat Jaber, after breaking into and ransacking his home.
In related Tuesday news, WAFA reports that three Palestinians were shot and injured, while dozens of others suffocated from teargas inhalation, during clashes with Israeli forces in Hebron.
According to security sources, the clashes erupted in the Hebron University neighborhood and Tareq Bin Ziad junction. Israeli troops fired rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters at local residents and students, injuring three and causing dozens others to suffer from excessive tear gas inhalation.
Two Palestinians were reported to have been directly injured in the head and the knee, and were evacuated to a Hebron hospital; suffocation cases were treated at the scene.
The clashes erupted just following the killing of Marwan Al Qawasmi and 'Amer Abu 'Aisha, two Palestinians Israel had accused (without proof) of the fatal abduction of three Israeli teenagers on June 12 of this year.

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stormed at dawn Tuesday West Bank cities of Nablus, Jenin, Bethlehem, and al-Khalil which led to the outbreak of violent clashes. In Nablus, IOF soldiers fired tear gas bombs at Palestinian youths who in their turn responded by throwing stones, local sources in Burin town said.
The sources said that Israeli forces surrounded a Palestinian home in the town which prompted young men to throw Molotov Cocktails at the Israeli patrols. No arrests were reported.
In Jenin, IOF soldiers stormed Burqin and Qabatia towns where two youths were arrested and took to unknown destinations after breaking into their homes.
A military checkpoint was erected at the entrance to Qabatia town, restricting people’s movement.
Israeli forces had also stormed on Monday evening Kafr Dan in Jenin where they carried out raid and combing operations. A number of homes and agricultural facilities were violently stormed.
In al-Khalil, Israeli soldiers detained two citizens after storming and searching their homes in Aroub refugee camp.
In Bethlehem, more than ten persons were injured on Monday evening during clashes that erupted in Aida refugee camp when Israeli forces heavily fired tear gas bombs and rubber bullets at Palestinian citizens.

15 Palestinian sick prisoners suffer very poor detention conditions and deliberate health negligence in Ramle prison hospital. The lawyer Hanan Khatib quoted on Monday the sick prisoners as calling on the Palestinian people and institutions to act immediately for their release as they suffer unbearable detention conditions.
The sick prisoners who regard themselves as “dead” appealed for their release especially that most of them are disabled and paralyzed after being seriously injured during their arrest.
They called on the Palestinian leadership to shed more light on their suffering and to activate their issue during negotiations with the Israeli occupation.
Meanwhile, Palestinian ex-detainees have declared Tuesday one-day hunger strike in Israeli jails protesting their re-arrest after being released during Wafa al-Ahrar swap deal.
The striking prisoners called on Palestinian negotiation delegation to include their demands in the Palestinian-Israeli talks, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Society.
The one-day hunger strike came as a warning step after Israeli authorities re-imposed their previous sentences including life term imprisonment verdicts.
More than 60 Palestinian ex-detainees were arrested since mid-June under the pretext of the so-called “secret file” in violation to Wafa al-Ahrar Swap Deal reached under Egyptian mediation in 2011.

Amer Abu Eisha and Marwan al-Qawasmi
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) claimed responsibility for the murder of two Palestinian youths suspected of kidnapping three Israeli soldiers in al-Khalil a few months ago, the Israeli radio broadcasted on Tuesday. According to the broadcast, an armed clash flared up in al-Jamia neighborhood, in al-Khalil, between the Israeli occupation troops and special units and the two wanted Palestinian youths, Amer Abu Eisha and Marwan al-Qawasmi. Scores of unarmed Palestinian youngsters were kidnapped in the process under the pretext that they might have partaken in hiding the suspects.
A special Israeli military force, escorted by the so-called Yamam unit, had suddenly invaded the place where the two suspects were believed to be hiding, the Israeli Yediot Ahranot newspaper said.
The Shin Bet security apparatus said the two Palestinian youngsters were killed during the gunfight.
Sometime earlier, large Israeli occupation patrols overnight targeted a number of Palestinian family homes and shops in al-Jamia residential neighborhood with arbitrary demolitions after having cordoned off the area and unleashed heavy barrages of bullet fire and sound bombs.
The invading undercover troops wrapped up the attack by knocking down a home owned by one of al-Qawasmi’s relatives and ransacked others, using a bulldozer and a digger.
Random waves of live ammunition and crossfire were unleashed in the process so as to force the civilian inhabitants to evacuate their homes. A number of al-Qawasmi’s family members were rounded up throughout the attack.
The Israeli occupation soldiers further raided Palestinian civilian tower apartments and deployed at their rooftops in an attempt to keep tabs on all of the entry and exit doors.
At the same time, a drove of Israeli spying drones kept hovering in al-Khalil’s airspace, spreading a state of unparalleled panic among women and children.
Another Israeli occupation unit broke into Abu Eisha’s family home in al-Khalil’s al-Sir neighborhood and nabbed a number of unarmed Palestinian youngsters before dragging them to an unidentified destination.
The murder has been claimed a few months after the Israeli occupation army launched the so-called retaliatory “Bring Back our Brothers” campaign, in the wake of which 773 innocent Palestinian civilians were rounded up while dozens of family homes have either been demolished or ransacked under pretext of searching for the potential kidnap suspects.

The Israeli navy on Monday evening rounded up four Palestinian fishermen on board their fishing boats off the coasts of central Gaza in a renewed flagrant violation of the Cairo-brokered truce accord. “The Israeli navy cordoned off a boat and abducted the four Palestinian fishermen who were on board,” head of the Fishermen’s Syndicate in Gaza, Nizar Ayyash, told SAFA News Agency.
The arrest took place despite the fact that Palestinian fishermen were setting sail within the six nautical miles guaranteed by the Palestinian-Israeli ceasefire agreement, signed on August 26.
In an earlier incident, over the last couple of weeks, the Israeli navy forces nabbed six Palestinian fishermen and unleashed machinegun fire on Palestinians’ fishing boats.
In a related incident, the Israeli fighter jets launched a spate of mock raids on the Gaza Strip on Monday evening, triggering panic among the besieged enclave’s inhabitants, local sources told a PIC news reporter.
A drove of Israeli occupation warplanes kept hovering in Gaza’s airspace, particularly off the Strip’s shores, in a remarkably unprecedented manner, the same source further reported.
Meanwhile, Hamas and Islamic Jihad delegates headed to Cairo on Monday to set the stage for another round of indirect truce talks with the Israeli side.
